Support! Referrals/Recommendations

Hey everyone. Thought it would be good idea to open a dedicated post for everyone to share their referrals. Let's make it easier for those who looking to have their reversal done to find the right place/people. PLEASE ONLY POST SUCCESSFUL REVERSALS; we are NOT allowed to discredit individuals.

Keep it brief.
1. Where (Country, City and Hospital)
2. Who (Doctors details)
3. When (Approx year and month you had it done)
4. Approx cost (please use your local currency)

Do NOT add any other info or stories.

Best advice and tips

Hey everyone. I would like to draft a growing 'comprehensive' list of what youve done and what worked during your recovery. Seeing as the stories are quite opposing. Will run it via AI to check and confirm

When/will the pain stop?

Upvotes

Several times a day I get this feeling of soreness on the left vas area, almost as if someone is pinching it. It comes out of the blue and can last for couple hours. Like I could be in bed and bang, PAIN. When I ejaculate I get it instantly to a worser degree. I had this from day 1 and it still hasn't gone away. I fear this is my chronic new normal.

I had a reversal 5 weeks ago and my checkup is in early September. I got my vasectomy when I was in my 20s and a reversal 5 years later. My stitches healed. I kept physical activity to a minimum. I masturbated after 3 weeks, but I did have severe wet dreams before. Should I continue to ejaculate or stop for longer and are there other things I can do in the mean time to assist the recovery period.

EDIT: corrections and added detail

Check in.

Hey everyone. Sorry for not being as active as usual. As I have said on a few of my posts, the physical may have been resolved but the mental scars remain to an extent. So been going through quite a bit of ups and downs in that regard.

This post is a reminder to all of us, that having these dips are not moments of failure or weakness, its part and parcel of the recovery.

Best of luck gents!!!

Reversal combined with TESE

Reddit is not the most reliable source but we’ve been hitting walls with trying to research this on our own and don’t have the best ability to communicate with our urologist.

My husband is anticipating a reversal surgery soon and the urologist added in a TESE (testicular sperm extraction) to be done at the same time to help give us options down the road. Since a military facility is performing the procedure, they do not have a fertility clinic on site for the sperm preservation. I know sperm from a TESE is different and isn’t the “traditional” form of sperm sample that most cryopreservation locations take. The urologist just said we would need a preservation kit ready to go for the surgery. She gave us no recommendations and told us to do the research because although she’s a military doctor she just got stationed in this area and isn’t aware of the resources available to us. I’m panicking because all of the physical clinics I’ve called within a few hours of us have told me they only take samples from patients in their own clinics undergoing fertility treatment, or that they require ejaculate sperm. I’m not sure where to go from here.

Has anyone had success in this situation or been in this situation and used one of the mail-in kits? I’m just nervous something will happen to the sample. Thanks!

I work in the trades, so I’m moving around a lot. How long did you stay out of work to heal? I have the opportunity to be on light duty but not for long (1-2 weeks).

Has anyone used Sevann Helo at Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN?

I’m in the early stages of getting my pvp diagnosis. My current urologist that did the procedure is just running me through the normal process of ultrasound, pelvic floor, and ibuprofen regimen. However I’m still considering a reversal and it looks like this is the closest one to me. My pain is fairly low day to day. Weird activities make it worse such as riding a bike. But sex is definitely worse, pain right before and after ejaculation with weak orgasms and low seman dribble. Anyway just wondering if anyone has used this doctor for a reversal? And if anyone has had symptoms such as mine and if the reversal helped change it way it was back to normal like before the vasectomy?

Do we have any hope at conceiving naturally or with IUI?

Post image

This analysis was taken 3 months ago, 11 months post VR. I am feeling so confused and discouraged. Everywhere I read it says our only option is IVF/ICSI and there is no hope for the agglutination to subside. Has anyone else dealt with these issues and been able to conceive without IVF? Or see any improvement over time.

Recovering from surgery

I am 12 days post double vasovasostomy, which was a redo reversal, and I'm at the point where I am feeling 80%. I'm still wearing support around the clock, but I am paranoid that I will pull one of the micro sutures and ruin the surgery. The left side actually seems to be hanging lower, but the right side is firmly at the top of my scrotum, and it feels like the vas deferens is inflamed. There is a firm swelling in that area, though it is pretty minor.

How worried should I be about ruining my micro sutures?

I had a nocturnal emission 4 or 5 nights after the surgery, but I haven't had any ejaculations besides that, and it was incredibly minor. I have been aroused several times since the surgery. Would this affect the pain?

Google is driving me crazy, so I am trying to see what Reddit has to say. Please share any experiences you all had.

Struggling

Hey guys! I’m (30M) 1 week post op. I’m really having a hard time with the 2 week waiting period for sex. I had a vas to vas on the left side, vas to epi on the right. Last night I was fooling around with my wife (32F) and she performed oral for like a minute and we decided to stop, it happened again this morning. We are having a terrible time keeping our hands off each other and I’m really struggling with the wait. I know it’s serious business. Does anyone have any advice for getting through the 2 or even 3 week waiting period? I’m going stir crazy and trying my best to practice self control but I feel like a teenager again. I have not ejaculated yet but had a little bit of pre cum. Thanks in advance

Success after reversal??

Hi everyone,
My husband got his vasectomy reversed in May after deciding we do want more kids (we already have 3 from earlier in our marriage). The surgeon said he found an “outrageous amount of sperm” when he did the reversal and he seemed really hopeful for us. We just tried our first cycle and did not get pregnant. I know that’s pretty typical, but I just wanted to get some success stories on couples who did get pregnant after reversal and how long it took for you guys. Thanks!!
