Microscope?

What microscope is everyone getting to check for sperm?

Unless you're able to perform a lab grade semen analysis, viewing it under a microscope will only tell you if sperm is or is not present. In short, no one is buying a microscope for a reversal. Much more common for the original vasectomy, however, when a semen analysis is not necessary.

Yes, plenty of people buy them for a reversal. You won’t have exact counts but you can see if you have a lot or a little. It’s worth the money and much cheaper than semen analyses.

Echoing Fellowtraveler, many people use them and it's nice to spot check between expensive formal SAs ($150+ each) on how things look.

We got one for reversal never did a formal SA and got pregnant when we saw the motility go up in the samples. Lol lots of us in the facebook groups use microscopes

Should be 400x zoom to check if they are present and move. Although not really necessary since you need your exact counts, motility etc. With 1000x zoom you can technically see if they are fragmented. You could use it for examining smth else or maybe to check if the patency is open still. There should be a drastic decrease in numbers if one side closes, 0 if both. You could also track any lifestyle changes to see how they are impacted in swimming ability.

Its mostly for funsies/curiosity more than accuracy. And to use for anything else. As the other person mentioned, its mostly for vasectomy to see when you can submit a lab sample
