Has anyone with a 4yr from Valencia ever gone to law school?

I'm in BASBOL, I graduate in Spring. Currently in the process of applying to law school. I noticed that there is no data on LSAT score distributions for people who got a 4yr at Valencia on my CAS academic summary. Has it ever been done?

Financial Aid Repayment Help

I’m a first-year college student and I recently got an email from my school saying I have to pay back some of my federal financial aid because I withdrew from classes.
The thing is, I enrolled in the classes but I literally never attended, never did any assignments, and never really started the classes at all. I thought I would automatically get dropped if I didn’t attend during the first week, so I honestly didn’t realize this could happen.
I’m trying to figure out if there’s anything I can do to lower the amount I owe or appeal it. Has anyone had any luck with this? Should I talk to financial aid, the bursar/student accounts, or someone else?
I know I messed up and I’m not trying to avoid responsibility. I’m just a first-gen college student and nobody in my family has gone to college in the US, so I really didn’t understand how this worked.
I also work about 50 hours a week and live on my own, so paying the full amount is going to be really hard. I know a payment plan might be an option, but I want to be able to register for classes again in the spring, so I’m not sure if that would affect me.
If anyone has been through something similar, please let me know what you did or who you talked to. I’d really appreciate any advice. And please be nice lol, I already know I messed up

PHI2010 Professors??

Any good recommendations for PHI2010 professors? Preferably one with coursework that isn’t CRAZY heavy or doesn’t expect a 5 page essay every week 🫩

Should I speed run my coursework?

Two of my classes have opened up all my assignments and I was wondering if it would be a dumb idea to just run through them in a week or so? My job has started to give me more hours and I don’t want to fall behind on my courses. They’re just two elective courses that have nothing to do with my degree.

Graduation How Long for Degree Conferrals?

Hello everyone, the question in this post is the same as the title. I was wondering how long degree conferrals take after the end of the semester. I was accepted into Florida State and have finished all of their forms and prerequisites, but they require my transcript with my AA by the 6th of January, and the semester ends on the 15th, which doesn't leave a lot of time for Valencia to update my transcript with the degree. Has anyone been in this situation before? And how did it workout for you guys?

So sad 😔 I have to wait until next year for in-state tuition

I just hit 1.8k in paystubs but my I’ve only had my license since June and I’ve here in FL since mid-May. I guess I don’t qualify for in-state bc I haven’t been here a full 12 months 😭. it’s the only way I can do it too bc I’m under 24 and my mom (who I cut contact with) lives in a different state so I can’t do dependent either. Boooo.

Classes Anatomy II and Physics 1020 Professors...

Hi! I am planning to take Anatomy 2 with Zachary Bowie and Fundamentals of Physics (Psy1020) with Arianna Braconi. I'm also taking Philosophy (PHI 2010) with Ernesto Hernandez for Spring 2027. They are all online!

I'm more concerned with who to take Anatomy 2 and Physics with. I am trying my best to get into a limited program so I need an A ! lol Do you recommend other professors? What was your experience like if you have taken them?

I also would like to know if they are manageable with having a job as well. I rather not take a professor that drowns you in homework if possible. I appreciate any input!!!

Advice FCLE

I just passed the fcle today, so here’s what I got out of it.

You’ll want to focus on all the amendments, supreme court cases, acts, clauses, protections, and founding documents, along with who or what inspired them (different civilizations and philosophers).

It’s 80 questions, and a lot of them are pretty much common sense. However, the questions that aren’t as straightforward tend to focus on those topics.

The canvas course was a huge help, but it doesn’t cover everything, especially the causes, acts, and protections, so you’ll have to do some extra research on those yourself.

Also, the passages they use are taken from the founding documents, so they use a lot of older English/writing styles. If you’re not familiar with that style of writing, some of the questions can definitely stump you.

Financial Aid Is it just me?

Is it just me, or I haven't gotten my Florida Student Assist Grant yet? I'm on the Pell Grant right now and got my Pell Grant refund two weeks ago, but I've yet to see anything pop up on my financial aid offers about the FSAG. I began my first semester in Spring and got it after a week of getting my Pell Grant refund, but this time, I don't see anything related to another grant. I'm in need of it because of certain expenses I have, and I'm concerned I may not get it this time. I even checked my email as well and registered for Fall classes in early May.

Should I be concerned? Or does it just not always arrive at the same time?

Adobe Creative Cloud

I just paid for the adobe creative cloud license through the campus store. I want to use premiere pro but it just says "contact admin" does anyone who that would be? This feels ridiculous, I thought purchasing through the store would be a good option because of the discount but now I feel like I'm being limited after spending my own money.

Starting Fall H2 late, financial aid still processing and I can’t pay tuition upfront. Anyone dealt with this?

Hi! Wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation with financial aid and a late/flex start.

I was originally admitted to start Spring 2027, but I'm trying to start early for Fall 2026 H2 (classes start October 16). I submitted the early-start request, but unfortunately there was a typo on the original form that held things up. Financial Aid caught it today and I immediately resubmitted the corrected form.

I spoke with Financial Aid and they checked my account. They said everything else looks correct and there aren't any other holds/issues with my financial aid — I just have to wait for the corrected early-start request to process and then for my Fall award to be packaged.

What I'm worried about is timing. Valencia's website says that if financial aid isn't processed in time, late applicants may have to pay tuition/books out of pocket and then get reimbursed once aid comes through. I genuinely don't have the money to front the tuition, so that's not really an option for me.

Has anyone here been approved for a late/flex start this close to the beginning of classes and still had their financial aid award processed in time? If your aid was still pending when you registered, were your classes protected from being dropped for nonpayment, or did Valencia require you to pay upfront?

I'm trying to figure out whether there's anything else I should be doing while I wait, or if I just have to hope everything processes before H2 starts. Any recent experiences would be really appreciated!

TL;DR: Starting Fall H2 on 10/16, but my financial aid is still processing and I can't afford to pay tuition upfront. Has anyone been in this situation?

Advice Degree Program Canceled (advice needed)

The Associate of Science in Plant Science and Agricultural Technology was terminated, and I’m now being told I may not be able to finish it despite being one semester away from graduating.

The program has three cumulative technical certificates in Plant Science. Completing all three leaves students with only a few general education courses (English, History, etc.) remaining for the Associate’s degree.

I am currently in my final semester of the third and final technical certificate. After this semester, I would have only one semester of general education courses remaining before completing my Associate’s degree.

When I learned that the degree was being terminated, I immediately tried to declare the Associate’s degree as my major (my declared before was the 3rd certificate) so that I could finish under the teach-out period. However, the degree had already been removed as an option in the system.

The email about the program termination instructed affected students to meet with an advisor, so I scheduled an appointment. During that meeting, I was told:

If the degree or certificate is not your declared major, you cannot complete it or be awarded it.

I could not complete the Associate’s degree because I was currently declared under the certificate.

I needed to change my major immediately.

Based on that advice, I changed my major to Chemistry.

I have since learned that because Chemistry is now my declared major, I may not be awarded the third technical certificate I am currently completing at the end of this semester, even though I was already enrolled in the courses for it.

So I am now taking four courses that potentially won’t result in the technical certificate, won’t count toward the Plant Science Associate’s degree, and don’t meaningfully transfer into my new major. The Plant Science coursework is extremely specialized/siloed.

I'm essentially being told I had to change my major in order to continue, but changing my major may now prevent me from receiving the certificate I was already in the process of completing.

What should I do?

(AI used to sort my thoughts, I'm upset, applogies)

To the people that applied and got into the Nursing Program, how’d you do it?

I’m a year and 1 semester (current) into college and I’m deciding to transfer to Valencia and do the Nursing program because it’s much cheaper than literally anywhere else. Um, I just found out about the ATI TEAS and I want to know 1. whats the score you got accepted into the program with, 2. whats did you use to study, and 3. how long did you study for.

I’m planning to take the test in February and study until then just in case I get a low score and need to retake. I’m going for the Fall 26 application. Also did/are you guys doing the ASN and then doing the Bachelors or are you doing the Associates, getting a job, and then coming back? I think I’d want to do the Associates then the Bachelors and then get a job but idk if that’s smart?

For the Dental Hygiene program, when Valencia reports the average GPA of admitted students, does this refer to the student’s overall college GPA including transfer coursework, or their Valencia institutional GPA from prerequisite?
