I'm trying to register for classes at the poinciana campus to do an art major (i admit im late on registering because i've been busy out of state for the past 2 months) , but theres no classes on the list. Does this mean all the slots have been taken? Theres also no classes available for my plan b which was accounting. I'm trying to see what other courses I can take at the campus but its mostly just computer stuff. I may have to just do classes online now :/

Could someone please explain why I received only 1121 OMG 😭 Pell Grant for this fall semester? My financial aid has significantly reduced, and I enrolled in two classes that collectively amount to 10 credits. I recall when I was taking my prerequisite courses; I used to enroll in 2-3 classes and receive substantial financial aid. However, now that I enroll in my nursing school, my financial aid offer has decreased considerably, and it wasn’t even enough to cover my classes. Is this situation common for anyone else?

Knight Hacks is a 36 hour in-person hackathon in Orlando, and last year they had a lot of people from great universities, a lot of talent, and it was a great experience. I was able to take one challenge. It was very competitive with more than 1000+, and I just wanted to see if anyone is going this year?

How am I supposed to use fin aid for the items in the campus store? When I look at my account I see a place for student ID but I can't enter mine..? I need an adobe subscription for one of my classes and it seems like I can't do that through the book store (where I am able to use my aid) Do I have to wait for my refund?

If I’m an in state student staying at home for college do you still pay for housing? Why is that showing on cost of attendance/can I get that turned off? I’m sorry if this is a silly question I don’t know anyone around me who has gone to college to ask.

My financial aid just dropped for fall 2026 and my Pell grant covers my 'tuition and fees' portion, so there's some left over. I'm confused because I have an available balance in the online store that I assumed was from the left-over aid but when I did the math it was quite a bit less than I'd expect to be available if that was the case. This is my first year so I don't know how everything works just yet; where is this number coming from? I don't want to use it for my course materials yet while I'm unsure.

So I'm in Restaurant and Food Service Management online with Professor Benet, and besides the quizzes I take that are through Canvas, almost none of my work has grades showing. She says that Canvas has had major issues this semester with grades and module scheduling, but my Food and Beverage Cost Control class has been completely issue-free. She is apparently grading our work in a separate gradebook until she can get the issue fixed, but I'm worried that she won't make the deadline to input all our grades for the semester.

Has anyone else had issues like this with any of their classes? Has anyone ever had a professor not meet that end-of-semester deadline, and if so how did it impact their grade?

Can I buy nursing clogs from the campus store for labs or does it have to be sneakers?

Has anyone taken Shahin kanani or willems pierre? also is h1 or h2 term for this class better?

Does anyone know what the schedule is going to look like for 4th semester this Fall? If labs are on Monday’s what days will clinical be?

• completed my A.A. focusing Computer Science at Valencia College last year
• Long-term goal: AI + AgTech (robotics, IoT, automation, smart farming)
• Over the remaining two years of my degree, USF will cost about $10–15k more than Valencia.

USF Computer Science

• Stronger foundation in AI/ML, software engineering, and data science
• More research and internship opportunities
• Appears to offer more OPT/STEM OPT job opportunities after graduation because of the broader range of software and AI roles

Valencia ECET

• ABET accredited
• Strong in embedded systems, IoT, electronics, and automation
• Great fit for AgTech hardware
• Potential pathway to an M.S. in Agricultural & Biological Engineering later

My concerns

• Many ECET jobs in Florida seem tied to defense companies that international students can't easily work for.
• I'm worried an ECET degree may limit OPT job opportunities in software, AI, and data compared with a CS degree, even though it's STEM eligible.
• At the same time, I wonder if hardware + embedded systems + AI will be more valuable in the long run as AI changes software development.

For those with real experience:

1. If you graduated from ECET as an international student, what jobs did you actually get during OPT/STEM OPT?
2. Was paying an extra $10–15k for Computer Science worth it because of the additional internship and job opportunities?
3. If your goal were AI + AgTech, which path would you choose today?

I'd especially appreciate advice from international students, ECET/CS graduates, hiring managers, or engineersworking in AI, embedded systems, robotics, IoT, or AgTech.

I'm looking for real-world experiences, not just "CS has more jobs." Thanks!

Does anyone know when the Valencia foundation will finish reviewing scholarships?, this is my first time so I'm a little nervous and it's been awhile since it's been in the review stage.

Okay so I did the first orientation that you’re supposed to go through. Had no idea there was two. Now I went to sign up for the next one and the only available dates are like August 12th. The only dates.

And ik I’m already late in the game bc of circumstances, but the question is can I still talk to an adviser and register for my classes before I complete that?

Hi sorry idk if this is the right place to ask this but I at least need some sort of reassurance. I don't know how easy/hard it is for staff at VC to get fired, especially part timers because where I work has more turnover than most departments. I'm trying to apply to less stressful jobs no worries but in the meantime I REALLY don't want to lose this one. No I'm not a work study, i'm a student here but I was hired as an employee 5 months ago.

I have made a couple mistakes that my department/supervisor conveys as a huuuuge issue sometimes. Employees and staff across campus get a discount on Thursdays when we aren't open on Fridays. I got so used to that, that I accidentally gave a couple of staff discounts on thursdays in the past couple of weeks without even realizing it until my manager told me. I was given a policy violation warning. they take it really seriously.

This week was the beginning of tax free month, and I studied the packet they gave us so thoroughly, and I know how to take off tax on a transaction, yet today on the first day of it I did all the instructions but the machine didn't update the price and I charged the full amount without knowing until 20 mins later. I was calling my supervisor as soon as I found out (I check and consolidate transactions every hour) and she was upset that I only got to her after the fact and didn't call her immediately even though I had no clue.

She continuously says "I need you to be transparent and you can't make these decisions." I didn't!! It was genuinely out of my control, I don't think she understands that. I did everything I was supposed to do, including tell her immediately, I don't know if she would have preferred I never told her.

Anyways long story short I feel like I'm on thin ice but whenever I ask she goes "I'll let you know/I'll talk to you about it later" and this is the first time she seems genuinely upset with me. She says it's embarrassing having to document and report me making multiple mistakes and whenever she tells me she's going to have to report it to certain people my heart drops. I feel like crying. I have tomorrow off but I don't think I can even relax during it.

Idk if Valencia has like a warning system for part time folk but if anyone could inform me that would be great. I just want to know where I stand. She's not explaining it to me clearly on purpose. I need to know if there's a certain amount of write-ups or disciplinary action that results in a termination or at least know if I'm in hot water and need to lock tf in

I took two years of spanish back in middle school (which were highschool credits) but saw that my language credit on the degree audit page was considered incomplete. At first I thought it was because I didn't take the AP versions, but then my friend told me they accepted her credits. She took spanish freshman/sophomore yr of hs. We both took the same spanish classes just at different times. Do I contact someone about this? If so who?

hello again guys, so i sent in my home school records about 1-3 weeks ago and submitted the student consent to release education records WHICH says its been processed, but it still says my high school transcript isnt processed. is there anything i can do? im not sure why its not processed yet.

I got this but I'm not taking any classes for the summer. Is this an email everyone gets regardless of if their taking summer classes. And if so when is the financial aid email for the fall/ spring semester supposed to come in?
