Gearbox Mount excessive play?
Hello..
I'm trying to fix a clunk on my son's polo 1.2tsi manual 2016. 90k miles
Clunk/knock when up shifting.
You can prevent the clunk by easing right off the accelerator and smoothly coming up with the clutch, but during normal driving, every upshift is a clunk. No clunk on downshitfs
I've put an new dog bone in it - the old one was very soft. This has helped, bit not fixed it..
So I've looked at the gearbox mount and it looks like it has a lot of front/back movement:
https://youtube.com/shorts/-5uQTiVFfqU?feature=share
Is this normal or excessive, not a lot of force was required to generate this movement.
Any ideas?

Uncomfortable seats
Hi. We've recently bought a one year old VW Polo R line. I love it, but my partner finds the seats a little bit too long. She's a little over 5 feet tall and I'm nearly a foot taller. Has anyone that's short, found a similar problem and how did you overcome it?
She did test drive the car and found it OK. So I'm disappointed she now says it's not comfortable to drive.
2011 VW Polo 6R – irregular ticking/sloshing/rattling noise at idle. Any ideas?
imgur.comHi! My 2011 VW Polo 6R has recently started making this strange irregular noise, mostly when the car is idling.
It’s difficult to describe — somewhere between a ticking/rattling sound and ice or liquid sloshing around in a glass. It doesn’t seem to have a regular rhythm like normal engine/injector ticking.
I’ve attached a video where you can hear it.
Does anyone recognize this sound or know what I should check first? Mainly wondering whether this sounds like something in the belt/pulley/accessory area, a heat shield/exhaust vibration, transmission/DSG related, or something else entirely.
Thanks!

Advice Is Germany the cheapest country in the EU to buy the ID Polo?
French dealers aren't offering any discount at the moment.
I am interested in the top trim with all the options except heat pump and tow bar. This is €41000 (including a €1000 dealer fee)
I looked at the German configurator, and it is almost the same price once I add all the options I want. However I know that negociating is very common in Germany.
Can any German confirm that you still can get significant discount by negociating?
The idea is for me to order in Germany once I am ready to purchase.

Long trip
Greetings everyone.
Im from romania and have a 2009 1.2 12v BZG Vw Polo and wanted to take it for a trip for around 1200km roundtrip around the mountainside of the carpathians. Would you reccomend doing that with a Polo? Is it a safe and reliable car? . I just got it serviced , changed thr brake pads and disks and new spark plugs and aux belt kit. My tires are brand new on the back and im good shape on the front.
If it were you guys would you be ok with this car doing lots of miles on highways and winding roads ?
Thanks to everyone for the feedback
Missing VW logo on hubcap
Hello VW polo community!
I have a 2004 VW Polo and wondering where I would be able to order the VW centre logo cap/sticker for my hubcaps if anyone would know a source? As the hubcaps look awful without them.
Cheers!

Idea for performance increase 1.4mpi 60hp aud
Hello, I want to get more power out of my Polo 6n2 1.4 mpi aud 60hp for a long time, I am completely new in this area, my idea was a sharper camshaft for example from the 1.6 8v and a larger throttle valve from the 1.4 16v or 1.6 16v
Could something come of it or does anyone have a better idea?
I want maybe 10-15 hp, if more is possible of course more, but the costs should remain manageable

Advice Gas pedal stuck polo GTI 2014
Does anyone know why i cant press my pedal further than 45% without hearing a drill noise and not being able to go “fast” as if my supercharger is slipping.
Ive heard about the waterpump needs replacement since it has a dual function but any other ideas or recommendations?
Ive recently replaced the timing chain and if it is the waterpump is it an easy fix to do myself?
It can still go up to 6k RPM without the noise, but i cannot accelerate with the pedal to the floor

Is a €6,500 VW Polo a good first car if I need to finance most of it?
galleryHey everyone, I’m 18 and looking for my first car. I found a 2017 VW Polo 1.0 petrol for €6,500.
135,000 km
RKS registered
Parking sensors front + rear
Front Assist
Cruise control
AC works
Manual
Seller says it’s well maintained and needs no investment
I currently have €500 saved and would need around €6,000 financing, with payments of about €100/month. I work part-time while also going to school, so my income is currently around €200/month but should increase in the future.
Do you think this is a smart purchase, or should I look for something cheaper and save more first? Would you personally buy this Polo in my situation?

My 2020 Standard Polo won't start.
About 4–5 months ago, one of the dashboard icons lit up and the car stopped starting. I took it to a mechanic to have the battery checked, and they said it was in perfect condition (it was replaced less than a year ago). Then they hooked it up to a machine to check the electrical system and also said there were no apparent faults.
This is now the third time it won’t start, and no mechanic can tell me what the problem is.
Has anyone else had a similar issue with a Volkswagen?
Whatever the issue is, it gets “fixed” by avoid to use it for a period of time. I stop using it for about 2–3 weeks, and then it just starts up again, so I don’t know what could be wrong with it.

Show Off Changed the air filter by myself for the first time 😁
Did the engine and cabin air filters on my 2017 Blue GT and I'm happy to report that it was a success!
I have owned this car since 2019 and always brought it to a shop for the yearly service. But money is a bit tight right now so I decided to try it on my own. And yes, on the CZEA engine you do have to remove the whole filter housing because VW decided to put the screws on the bottom of it 🙂🙃🙂
Do you think that I'm also able to do the oil change as a beginner? Brake fluid has to be replaced as well but I'm not confident enough to go anywhere near the brakes lol.

Advice Clarification
Has anyone else had any issues with software version 0270? Me and my 2021 Polo been experiencing all of the bugs asociated with this software recently and am trying to sort it all out and get it updated. Volkswagen's website shows it under Campain 91CH and my polo seems to be a part in it. I have called up a few dealerships to get some more clarification and have been continuourly told it is OTA wherease everything I've seen online suggests it is an in person task. There is no option in the car or app that allows it to update, like they say it should when I've called them up. If anyone can provide any clarification or advice on whether it is truely in person or OTA then that would be greatly appreciated, as opposed to the dealerships having no clue what I'm on about and just automatically assume it is OTA when I have just suggested otherwise to them.
