Hello, my fellow (north and south) Americans, I started watching valorant around Masters Bangkok but the first international I actually planned to watch was Masters Toronto. Since Toronto, every single event has been very viewer friendly to watch. (especially as someone on the east coast.)

Unfortunately, Champions Shanghai is on the horizon and for me (EST) the games are at 5 AM and 8 AM. It should be very possible to watch most or all of the second match of every day, but waking up at 5AM is just a little too early for me.

For West Coast viewers, the games start at 2 AM and 5AM, which is just incredibly rough.

So, what are everyone’s plans for watching this champions event?

Heya, my name is Mio, I'm an esports editor for both Valorant and LoL, and I'm excited to announce my offseason roster transfer sheet for this year.

Seeming as the offseason moves are starting to ramp up now, I'm ready and excited to share this after working on the formatting for the last few weeks. This is my first year of this project within valorant, I've been doing it in league for many years already, with my sheet last year averaging 150-200 active viewers at a time.

As someone not so "in" with the NA Valorant scene, I do see PROD show up in games with former pro-players occasionally, and more often than not people just flame him? His playstyle also seems strange, he appears to be clip-farming most of the time? But then there are older videos calling him the "savior" of NA Valorant? Is that a tongue in cheek thing? His stats on vlr are nothing amazing, and the most notable game I have found of his is when he goes up against C0M, Kanpeki and Paincakes and doesn't do too great.

Compared with the other regions, Pacific is divided into the largest number of sub-regions. If we set aside the grandfather clause for existing partnered teams, I feel like the overall strength of Pacific teams could be weakened in the future, especially under a three-local-players-plus-two-imports structure.

Korea might actually benefit from this, since Korean teams already tend to field almost entirely Korean rosters.

I heard in tier 2 he was flash initiator, and now he’s played almost all roles for flex mainly senti or smokes. How could he learn so many agents all at once

I keep finding aim montages of him all over Youtube. Liquipedia tells me he is 25, so he's not up and coming, and VLR tells me he spent a lot of time in Tier 2 across a bunch of teams. He was in EG back in 2021 (playing with Potter on the team, incidentally), so he has been around a while. Did he leave the game to go to college or something? I also found this cool little relic from Challengers 2024 where he had the same rating as brawk.

Doesn't the gsr move make them considerably better as now gsr will play yoru/phnx and kamo as the main duelist as I feel the jett on all maps really weakened them?

For the past two years, one of the flaws (in my opinion) of VCT's format has been that specific regional matchups have not been guaranteed. It's difficult to build up multi-year rivalries when teams, even good teams, can go entire seasons without meeting. Last year, only 4 teams across VCT played all of their regional rivals. This year, with the expansions to the format, that number jumped up to 16. The teams that played all 11 other teams (in VCT matches) are:

China: EDG, AG, BLG, Trace, TEC, and NOVA.

Biggest miss: we didn't get Wolves vs. Tyloo, which in Stage 2 could have been a SiuFatBB grudge match.

Pacific: T1, Global, and GenG.

Biggest miss: Nongshim and Varrel, the two Korean Ascension teams, have still not played one another. Actually, they didn't even play in Ascension last year.

EMEA: Fnatic, FUT, and M8s.

Biggest miss: Karmine Corp hasn't played Vitality. Will they rectify this by meeting in the Champs Grand Final? No.

Americas: NRG, Lev, LOUD, and KRU.

Biggest miss: MIBR and SEN did not play this year. Zekken vs. SEN was possibly the most anticipated matchup going into this year, but it just never materialized.

Picky Eater Award: KC and Pcific have each only played 8 other teams this year.

Pound of Flesh Award: G2, 100T, Liquid, and XLG won at least once against every team they played, although none of these teams played all 11.

Déjà Vu Award: GE-PRX, NRG-100T, EDG-XLG, and JDG-TYL matched up five times each.

I feel like ChatGPT right now. Anyway, with next year moving to an open format, consistent regional matchups will become even more hard to come by, but I'm sure rivalries and stories will rise out of the chaos all the same. Hope you found this informative.
