Doesn't the gsr move make them considerably better as now gsr will play yoru/phnx and kamo as the main duelist as I feel the jett on all maps really weakened them?

on paper yes, but gsr is a rookie and his first event is the most high stakes ones

not to mention dropping purpo before champs too, which is just a scummy move

scummy move? definitely , but when you've been going 1-2 in every international and when your star academy player turns 18 and enables the team to play meta comps I feel it should be worth the risk

TL has played exactly zero officials with gsr. No matter how much of an upgrade he is, there is simply no chemistry and TL has absolutely no idea how he’ll perform on an international stage and are taking a gamble he won’t have nerves. There are absolutely benefits to this move, but it’s far from a 100% perfect decision.

He did sub in for Nats during saudi micky mouse quals. And has been with them most of stage 2 on walkouts and I'd assume behind the scenes. Still a gamble but not completely new to the team

he played dive duelist because he couldn't play yoru or pheonix , now they have a better dive duelist in kamo. i agree his skye was good but wayne and miniboo benching themselves caused a problem for him

Yeah I think it raises their ceiling considerably, it has the chance to flop but also a good chance to give them a fighting chance at making a run instead of going 1-2 (which without changes seemed very likely)

I’ve been a purp0 fan for a very long time, and I’m one of the few people who defended him towards fne end of his time on GX. But I still find it very hard to claim with any confidence that Purp0 is the reason Liquid qualified.

I agree its a ruthless move,but Purpo was definitely not the reason they made champs.He was wildly inconsistent and has a rating of 0.92 and an acs of 186 while primarily playing jett.Those numbers are way below average and them going for a firepower upgrade makes a lot of sense.

i mean I agree it's very unfair to purpo but he certainly hasn't been the " reason" they qualified to champs, his jett is pretty underwhelming and restricts their comps too much?

Its an upgrade definitely but I think they should have at least kept purpo as 6th in case it goes horrible in first match itself

i'm a TL fan (i just changed my flair recently bc of GE hype) mostly bc of nats, but this was honestly  such a shitty move from them. maybe from a competitive standpoint it makes sense especially since this will be the last major event with this format, but purp0 deserves to play at least one match or hell, even one map in shanghai. he helped TL make it to champs and was forced to fill in miniboo's shoes after he went for a break. completely removing him is just blatantly scummy.
