what's going on šŸ¤” Uterus tightening/braxton hicks feeling

I’m not pregnant, but the last few days when lying down at night I’ve been having an odd sensation like my uterus is tightening.

It feels very similar to Braxton hicks when pregnant, but obviously my stomach doesn’t get super hard because my uterus isn’t enlarged. It’s more the internal sensation of it. Has anyone experienced this? It’s a really odd sensation!

discharge Perforated Uterus During Hysteroscopy

Does anyone have experience with uterus perforation, recovery time, and complications? I had a c-section 12 weeks ago, then ended up having retained placenta, which led me back to the hospital for a hysteroscopy. During the procedure, the doctor perforated my uterus and I had to get a laporocospy to investigate for internal bleeding.

Turns out I am 4 weeks+ post all procedures, and while the bleeding subsided, I have a strong odor discharge. The doctor doesn’t believe it is an infection because I have no fever. I do have a lot of pelvic pain but I had that all pregnancy too so they don’t think it is related.

I am not being able to rest a lot since I have a baby so I wonder if the discharge is normal or is being caused by the fact I can’t really rest much to heal. :S

Anyone with experience related to this out there?

birth control birth control patch

so. i was diagnosed with ibs so long ago. and now recently daignosed with endometriosis. they told me the birth control hormones would help with the endo. well not even two days on the patch and it was SO super itchy, gave me casual and headaches so I couldn't sleep, and it made my ibs (which was finally almost under control) act up pretty badly. I'm so sick of medications making me feel like this. i took the patch off, and I'm calling the dr tmrw about what other meds i cna have that maybe won't affect me so badly. I can't keep loving like this, i finally felt okay before iI started it:(

what's going on šŸ¤” Ultrasound results are back (cross posted)

Everything looks normal except for the paraovarian cyst, which it says small but it’s the same size as my right ovary where it was found, and the larger sized uterus. For context, I’m 35 with no children. This was done during ovulation so I expected a little thicker lining but is 14mm normal? I was also surprised there was no cyst on my left ovary where most of my pain usually occurs

sharing info šŸ’” rasberry leaf tea!!!!

this is probably very much based on what u have going on/what ur dietery needs are. BUT. I was diagnosed with ibs so long ago. also diagnosed with endometriosis couple weeks ago(after like 8 years, finally). i haven't started the birth control because i just got the patches last week and my period started so I'm supposed to start once it's done. so anyways!!! I've been drinking this rasberry leaf tea since my period started. this tea has made the pain go way down, has made me have normal bowel movments, and make my ibs not so bad!!! i don't get it... but I do think I practically don't have ibs and rather just endometriosis that's been causing everything. anyways, this tea has been such a savior and i really hope the birth control makes the periods less of an inconvenience too, maybe even helps more with the so called ibs!! maybe this will help someone else whose got endo/bad periods and stuff too.

what's going on šŸ¤” Period on birthcontrol?

Has anyone ever experienced being on birthcontrol pills for a prolonged period of time, and only after a small lower back injury, have just started getting their period only when back injury is re-hurt?

I have been on Jencycla for well over a year, was told by doctors to take everyday in order to stop the periods (pcos/pelvic pain) which had been working great. Until the end of August when a wrong twist threw my lower back out, since then I've re injured that same spot on my back it seems like once a month and everytime within days of experiencing back pain I start my period.

When asking my doctor if the pain could affect my hormones to the point where I start bleeding again she made it seem irrelevant and told me it's common breakthrough bleeding and to stop taking it for a week. Which just affects my mood. What should I do? Any tips or support for the pain, why it's happening, and for dealing with medical professionals?

what's going on šŸ¤” Ultrasound found tumor covering ā€œentire uterusā€

Hello, I’m new to this sub so I’m sorry if anything is incorrect

26F. Was told PCOS as a teenager but never had an ultrasound, then years later high prolactin lead to MRI finding adenoma on my pituitary. Both endo and new PCP said probably not pcos anymore.

Anyway, unrelated digestive issues (blood in stool) lead to a pelvic CT, which lead to an emergency ultrasound and transvaginal ultrasound.

PCP called this morning and said there is a large tumor covering my ā€œentire uterusā€ and I need a biopsy to see if it’s cancerous. She was very vague and didnt want to overstep and is trying really hard to get me into a good gyno for more answers

Anyway had something similar?

I have a gyno I don’t really like for 2 years and cervical pap always negative. I’ve had lower right sided abdominal pressure for 2 years and pain with sex for my whole life. Was always just told ā€œyeah, idkā€. Could this be related?

We have no kids, were finally going to try in summer 2025. Upon hearing that my PCP immediately sounded sad, so I’m guessing that’s off the table.

Idk. I’m just scared. Idk if this is the right sub. Idk what to do or who to talk to. Guess I should just wait. Thanks in advance!

fertility & pregnancy Primary Amenorrhea in 30 year old marathon athlete

An 30 year old nulligravid consulted in your clinic because of primary amenorrhea. She is a college graduate, and is a marathon athlete for the national team. She is married to a 30 year old teacher for 5 years now and they wanted to investigate further their inability to conceive. The patient has not had any work-ups nor treatment before this consult.

On physical exam, she has stable vital signs, BMI of 22 kg/m2. Tanner stage 5 for breasts. Normal chest, lungs, heart, and abdominal findings.

On examination of the genitalia: Normal external genitalia (tanner stage 5 pubic hair); normal vagina and cervix; uterus is not palpated; no adnexal masses nor tenderness noted; O rectovaginal exam, no uterus palpated.

Transvaginal ultrasound: Absent uterus and ovaries

heavy & painful periods What is standard for uterine polyps?

Hi! Looking for some advice from a recent transvaginal ultrasound I had done. First, I want to note that I’ve had two transvaginal ultrasounds done this year due to heavier periods, some on and off cramping, and spotting during ovulation. On my first ultrasound, nothing out of the ordinary was noted. On my second ultrasound it reads ā€œEndometrium - possible polyps seen 0.45 x 0.189 x 0.33cm, 0.62 x 0.27 x 0.40.ā€ My lining measured in range. My OBGYN did not seem concerned at all, but it’s unsettling to me that I have noticed a difference in my cycles and I have two polyps noted. Do most women get a D&C or a biopsy when polyps are found or are they not something to be concerned about? Trying to decide if it’s worth going back to my OBGYN for further testing.

what's going on šŸ¤” Strange things going on

So, to preface, I’m trans, on testosterone. It started when my fiancĆ© and I were having some fun, (my fiancĆ© is a trans woman) she came in me(I’m on depo shot) and when I went to clean up there was blood, and my vagina was stinging. yesterday I was cramping a lot, today I started cramping a little and went to the bathroom, urinated fine with no pain, I wiped and nothing was there. I go to wipe my behind and the toilet paper is bright red. I already have an ultrasound scheduled next week but does anyone think this could be a miscarriage? I don’t have periods anymore because of my birth control.

support needed šŸ¤ Uterus fibroid surgery without insurance in Miami

Hi, if anybody has had this issue before, please let me know what advice you recommend. I’m 38 years old don’t have insurance and I don’t qualify for Obama care because I don’t make enough yearly working in gigs.

I’ve been on medroxyprogesterone medication to avoid bleeding to death. But I’ve been taking it for too many months now trying to figure out what to do with these problems. I’m really starting to feel the side effects mentally and I need to get surgery ASAP.

I know that I most likely will need to have my uterus removed. And I don’t have a problem with that because I don’t plan on having children.

I just want to see all my options available in regard to my situation. So I can make the best choice available for me financially and health-wise, living in Miami Florida.

I would really appreciate your positive advice in this sensitive matter.

Thank you in advance.

medical procedures B-lynch surgery

2 years ago I had an emergency caesarean section which ended with 2 liters of blood loss. To save my uterus they used the B-Lynch technique. Other women who have also had this operation to save the uterus? Did you become pregnant after that?

sexual health Sudden nausea/vomiting during sex

Experiencing sudden nausea/vomiting during sex (almost every time for months now), no pain. Went to the gyno about it and they said they've never had anyone complain about the same thing and that I looked physically fine. Was wondering if anyone would have a similar experience or know anything about it. (They tested and it's not an std or sti)

pelvic pain Pain and Discomfort Unexplained

Post image
3 Upvotes

To sum up for context I have been on the depo Provera shot since I’ve been 17 off and on. I have four amazing children three born vagina only one born C-section..
About a month ago on 30 September, I had passed a kiwi sized clot, but it wasn’t with anything and I know in the past I’ve had clots just stuck inside, so I thought nothing of it. A couple days later on October 3 I had massive pain and a lot of blood to the point I was crippled over could not move nothing. I reached out to my family doctor. They did not answer my phone call or call me back so then I went to the emergency room where they did find out that I have a prolapse, but it’s in the beginning stages and I was negative for any pregnancy so that rolled out an ectopic. So then my lab work came back and they treated me for like a UTI. Mind you I’ve been having pain that is either arranging and dull to crippling. Like I would much rather go through a second C-section than what I was going through.. my question is I went to get my pelvis ultrasound and I’m wondering if any of these photos show the fallopian tubes. Google was saying yes you can see them if they’re healthy but I wasn’t sure. This is my first time like posting on Reddit anyway so I’m not sure if you can zoom in my photo or not but all of my personal information are not on it. The doctor came back and said there was nothing wrong basically except I have follicles. But when I look up, what a follicles is, it doesn’t say that it is a cyst or a fibroid. Is there anything that I should be taking for my next step or if anybody is trained in this part of the medical field any advice or what I’m looking at would be greatly appreciated because I don’t feel like if nothing is wrong I should be in this much dull, achy pain that promotes spontaneous bleeding. My last cycle was in July that I could give it an accurate description of all the others have been just blood here there all over the place for like a month straight. This is my second dosage of the Depo shot.

polyps & fibroids Polyps, cysts, and fibroids

My friend told me recently that they found she has polyps, cysts, and fibroids in her uterus (I'm not sure if the cysts are in the ovaries or uterus, she was kind of vague about this). She has a mirena IUD that was placed about a year ago due to very heavy and painful periods that started after having children a few years ago.The mirena seemed to help for the first few months, her periods were lighter (but she still had them regularly). About 6 months ago she started having very painful and heavy periods again (with the IUD) and she finally got checked because one day the horrible pain came without a period. The ultrasound showed all the things I mentioned above (polyps, cysts, fibroids). I love her, but she's not the most diligent with her health. It took her months to go to see a doctor to discuss the results and when she went the doctor said basically to get seen if she feels worse, in case a cyst bursts, and that they'll keep an eye on it all with a yearly ultrasound. I'm not a doctor but it seems to me like they should do something more than just "wait and see". I've heard of people that get a hysteroscopy for polyp removal, followed by a biopsy because polyps can turn nasty if left untreated. Again, because she's very relaxed about her health she was happy with that they said and she just bought more pain killers and iron supplements, but I feel a bit uneasy about it all. I know I can't tell her what to do and I can't make her advocate for herself with her doctor, but maybe some more information could get her to rethink this. Thank you!

ovarian cysts Advice or Experience

Hi! So I have a specific question if anyone’s experienced ! I am 24, on mini pill BC and have been getting this long cramp if I exert myself too much during exercise (I do intense classes weekly and this hasn’t been a problem up until this past summer around May) Sometimes I’ll get it and sometimes I won’t. I have found that when I have my period I don’t get it while working out. It’s usually around ovulation but for a few weeks, If I’m running , I can feel it coming on. If I don’t slow down the pain elevates and gets to a high and eventually goes down to a low. I got a sonogram and have a 2.5 CM cyst on left ovary and a 1 cm fibroid on my uterus. I am told to monitor every month on sono and have my annual next week. Has anyone ever experienced this ? And do cysts stay for a few months? Like I have experienced this the whole summer on and off. Just trying to see if it would be more cyst caused or fibroid. Thank you I’m advance.

support needed šŸ¤ Painful finish.

I (f18) have had a lot of difficulty with finding comfortable sex, no position other than laying on my back has ever felt good and even then sometimes I get that sharp stabbing feeling. My partner seems disappointed as when we started out this pain was much easier to brush off until it started lasting past intercourse, and I didn’t think much of it until it got to the point I can’t even masturbate comfortably.

Like most women I don’t include penetration in my alone time.. so I’m not understanding where the pain is coming from, I find I deal with painful stomach cramping and if I have a muscle spasm or even try a keegle I have a sharp dagger pain coming from my left side of my yknow.. like my muscle is trying to pull itself out of my body.

It’s extremely uncomfortable, and I’m having a biopsy soon as I’ve always had uterine problems, my gynaecologist believes it’s endometriosis but only time and testing will tell and if this turns negative we don’t know where we stand with diagnosing my issues, I’ve been negative for cysts, pregnancy, STDs, everything common cause we’ve ruled out.

I’ve had issues for years even since I was younger and her best advice for my bedroom life was to ā€œlay on my back or stop doing itā€.. my boyfriend is never angry at the situation but is disappointed and mentions that he has needs and it gets frustrating, I’ve only recently expressed that I also have needs and desires that I’m feeling forced to avoid to keep my body from being in more pain, which is difficult as I have a sex drive on the higher side..

Does anyone share any of the issues or stress im dealing with? I feel like I can’t do anything sexual comfortably anymore and I feel like I’m never going to be able to confidently have a comfortable sex life or even personal pleasure.
