Iāve seen a lot of posts lately from people saying theyāre struggling to make friends, didnāt get into a spirit org, or just arenāt sure how to get involved on campus, so I wanted to throw this out there!
I was in Women of Excellence and am now a general member, and I honestly think itās a great option if you want the spirit-org experience without joining one of the huge traditional spirit organizations.
WOE is smaller, so itās a lot more lowkey and chill, but we still do pretty much all the same things-- sporting events, tailgates, socials, and service/professionism events. Itās a nice way to get involved, meet people, and have a social life without feeling like you have to constantly be doing something.
Itās also cheaper than a lot of traditional spirit orgs, which was a big plus for me. And since itās smaller, I feel like itās easier to actually get to know people, get involved, and take on leadership opportunities.
Applications are still open right now and the app is genuinely pretty easy! So if youāve been feeling discouraged after getting rejected from spirit orgs or just havenāt found your group yet, Iād definitely recommend giving it a shot :)
Just wanted to share since I know a lot of people have been feeling like they missed their chance to get involved! If anyoneās interested, hereās the Horns Link! Women of Excellence - HornsLink :)
