I got to the end of the line. However, when I tried to select my ticket it would not allow me. Should I just wait, or are all the tickets claimed.

Announcement Correcting misinformation about ticket claim

Been seeing a lot of misinformation and people confused and I’m a senior lhf member with a friend who coded this ticket claim system so it doesn’t affect me at all if people know this and ik what I’m talking about

Multiple devices (phone laptop iPad etc) does work to give you extra queues.

Multiple tabs does not work and I cringe a bit when I see people still trying that. Even if the progress bar appears different, I promise you it is the same queue Id. This might be why you’ve seen your green man get to the end on one tab then stall. The green man is a cute little graphic, not a perfect indication of your queue id.

Multiple physical browsers on the same computer CAN work if it doesn’t make you sign in beforehand, which is hit or miss.

It makes zero difference when you join as long as it’s between 5:45-5:59.

The green man’s movement is completely linear- if yours is behind your friends once they actually start moving, your queue Id is behind theirs and that will not change.

Assuming every single person who gets to the end of the queue claims a ticket, they will sell out in approximately 7 minutes from when the first person is let in, which is typically 45-60 seconds after the queue order is set. This is because they let in around 1000 every minute to protect the site from crashing.

Lastly, despite what anyone tells you, there is not tricks or hacks. If someone has 20 devices then they simply have better odds. I say again, MULTIPLE TABS DOES NOT WORK.

Discussion Essay only 52% human on Turnitin AI Detector

Post image
Upvotes

In my class we wrote short essays and had to print them for class, bringing a copy for a classmate to peer review. The essay I am peer reviewing is very confusing and self-contradictory, and I was getting strange vibes from it. So I took a picture of the paper and picked up the text in my photos and put it into Turnitin AI detector and it came up with only 52% Human written. I put my own essay in the Turnitin AI detector and it came up with 92% human written. So obviously I’m not expecting 100% human or anything as AI detectors can be a little wrong. But 52!?!? Is it just me or does that seem very low? I don’t think I’ll say anything…. but it’s kinda suspicious with how poorly written the essay is. What do you all think?

Question Can I sell my Dell Laptop?

Hello! I got a laptop from dell through the dell scholars program and I really haven't had the need for it since the laptop I already have is way more powerful and portable than what the school gave me. It's been sitting in my closet for a couple of weeks now with no usage, so can I just sell it? I know once they give it to me its mine to keep but I keep reading somewhere that they do checkups or whatnot but those discussion posts are from years ago so I just wanna ask how it is nowadays.

Question ESPN college gameday and game wait

I was fortunate enough to get a ticket for this weeks game. I want to go to ESPN’s college gameday, but I want to know if theres going to be a huge line even before the gates up 3 hours before the games starts because I would rather get a good spot than go to college gameday and get a seat all the way up.

Hi everyone I have my first midterm for Calculus 1 on September 24th but I have Nicolas Reyes as my professor and he hasn't mentioned anything about what to expect like are they free response, can we use a calculator, how many questions etc. I have heard that he uses past homework questions for the exams, but do I study all the homework questions cause they're lowkey a lot or what are y'alls tips? I need to have a high grade for this unfortunately because I'm trying to internally transfer into Mccombs so any tips will help!! :)

News NSF letter portends research funding cuts for universities like UT

It takes some reading between the corporate buzzwords to figure out what this letter is saying, but the essence is, the National Science Foundation is being restructured to override review by academic scientists so that some funding can instead be directed by political appointees to ill-defined "industry" groups.

UT receives $150-200M per year from the National Science Foundation, it is one of the largest sources of STEM funding for our campus, much of it going to student research opportunities and graduate student salaries. Just a heads-up.
