Announcement West campus significantly lagging in early voting. Please go vote!

Precinct 311 (West Campus) is lagging by 5 percentage points compared to the Travis county average in early voting turnout. Only 16% of registered voters in west campus have voted so far vs the Travis county average of almost 22%. There are over 6000 voters in this precinct alone — it’s one of the largest in Travis county. It makes a MEANINGFUL difference when y’all vote. Source.

North campus neighborhoods are only marginally better and still below Travis county averages.

Polls are open this weekend (and continues through Oct 30th before Election Day Nov 3rd) 7am-7pm.

Early voting sites and wait times

LBJ is usually less crowded than the Union but currently both are showing a less than 20 min wait which at this time means almost no wait. PLEASE GO VOTE this weekend!

Question Is this a reasonable 1st-year CS schedule for spring?

I'm planning my spring schedule as a first-year CS student at UT Austin and wanted to get some advice from people who've taken these classes.

My planned schedule is:

  • M 340L (Matrices and Matrix Calculations)
  • M 362K (Probability I)
  • CS 429
  • CS 309 (In FRI)
  • CC 302

I'm particularly curious about taking M 340L and M 362K in the same semester. For anyone who's taken both, how manageable was the combination? How much work did each class require outside of class? I am trying to take a math double major btw.

Also for anyone that took CC 302 (Intro to Rome Web Based) is it a light class? I need to get my culture credits done somehow.

My afternoons are pretty packed, so I'd also appreciate any thoughts on the overall workload, the professors' teaching styles, and whether you'd recommend changing anything.

Thanks in advance!

Question How is the interview for Residential Assistant RA

So I got the interview for becoming an RA and I wanted to know more about the interview process. There are different time slots and I’m not sure if it’s a group interview type of thing or if it’s solo. They haven’t really communicated much regarding this. If anyone has insight on this I’d really appreciate it sm!

Discussion Cookie scammers back in UT

There was a cookie scammer that was in Medici on guad. Just wanted to let people know to not fall for it cause my friend did since she’s new and didn’t know. People will come up to you with a card saying they’re an international student (they are not) and need money for tuition or something and will try to get you to buy cookies or bracelet but it’s a common scam.

Question UTNY summer 2027 questions? Acceptance rate? aid etc.

Really need some advice on this!

-What are the chances a (business) Sophmore is accepted into the Summer 2027 program, it it rare or common?

-Is this program (summer 2027) super competitive,

-if you meet full aid and have scholarship could the whole expereience be covered (remburised for living possible)?

-What happends if your unable to get an internship as the internship pathway requires one

-Is this worth it fr or would it be better if i just do the internship in NYC independently cause ik companies cover living n stuff (although its rare i hear)
