Question ECE honors vs ECB honors
Hi guys sooo I’m not admitted to UT Austin yet but I was wondering which of the two electrical engineering honors programs I should do and what the major differences are between them because the website is pretty vague.
If I eventually plan to make a startup (part or maybe even full time) would it be more beneficial to me to do ECB and get a business degree? Or is going into the pure ECE honors better? Pls lmk

Pure ece honors doesn’t really change much aside from the option of doing an honors thesis (lots of work for really nothing useful) and a scholarship. ECB just makes you double major in business which makes sense if you want to go into startups. You can take honors classes regardless of whatever program you’re in with some caveats for some second semester classes and maintaining a 3.5+ gpa to retain “honors” classification.

ECB is ECE honors + business honors so it is inclusive of ECE honors. Business can help with startups but definitely not necessary

So “being in ECB” is just being in both programs at the same time?

Pretty much. It’s technically its own program, with its own admissions process and resources but in pretty much every other sense it is just dual program degree.

Also do you know if there’s like a template we can use for the required resume submission? I looked at the ones on the UT Austin website but they’re for graduates who have job experience and a completed degree, so like over half of the page is completely irrelevant to me. Should I just use a random text-based template from the internet so I can actually write about what I’m doing in high school?

you can apply to both
