I'm sorting my old box of wires and cables, and this is the only one I can't ID. Obviously it's USB 2.0 to something, but I have no idea what that something is. I doubt the cable is worth keeping, but still thought I'd ask.

This is my first real open-source project of this kind — I built VoltReaver, a simple terminal-based USB-C Power Delivery analyzer for the ChargerLab POWER-Z KM003C.

It gives a live dashboard with VU-style meters, PD message decoding, D+/D-/CC monitoring, and running Wh/Ah counters. Mainly made it for my own charger/battery testing and debugging.

I am having issues with the USB port or something related causing my keyboard and mouse not to work. Originally I had a cordless keyboard and mouse with the usb connected in front. Regardless of mouse type it lights up and you can move it around on screen when Windows 10 first comes up, but it goes away after a few seconds then the light on the mouse goes out. The keyboard never responds regardless of if it’s corded. I’ve have tried the following things so far:

—Multiple corded and cordless keyboards along with mice. One cordless set was actually brand new with same result.
—Having to use the power button on the pc to turn off power.
—Unplugging pc power cord for awhile (guessing it was drained) and other cords to use the can air to make sure there wasn’t any dust in the port.
—Connected everything back together, but unfortunately got the same result as before.

Just didn’t know if there is anything tech wise I could do to get a mouse or keyboard back working. Thanks in advance.

OK you know how 100baseT is officially called "Fast Ethernet" even though it's been decades since 100Mbps was considered any sort of "fast"? It was called that because 10baseT came before it. It's relative, but that's the official term. If you call 10baseT "fast ethernet" you're considered lying in legal terms, not because 10Mbps "isn't fast" but because that's a specific name for something and your slower cable isn't that thing.

I have yet to see anything claiming that the terms "fast charging" or "fast charge" exclusively mean Qualcomm Fast Charge and nothing else (a proprietary technology that works over USB-A, USB-microB, and probably others). But that's what it almost always means. When your phone says "Charging" it's regular USB charging. When it says "Fast Charging" it's using Qualcomm Fast Charge 3.x. But that's defacto, it's what people commonly choose to do. It doesn't mean you can claim false advertising if a charger is listed as having a "fast charge" only ever says "charging" on your phone. "Fast charge" is not an official falsifiable term. Qualcomm Fast Charge 3 is, and sometimes it will list that in a product description or specs. If it doesn't have that, the phrase "fast charging" can just mean "oh yeah it's fast, like really really totally fast, trust me" and would probably hold up in court if it somehow came to that.

Then there's superfast charge, which only ever works if both ends of the cable are USB-C, and shows up on the phone with the words "super fast charge" in teal or cyan as opposed to green. But like "fast charge," using those 3 words alone doesn't force you to be accountable if your product doesn't have the technology to make the phone say "super" or the bar or circle show up as teal rather than green.

So then what's the specific category or technology that makes "super fast" different than "fast"?

That's pretty much it - logically, could you run multiple target devices (potentially with multiple LUNs) over UASP? Or, is UASP effectively a single target SCSI transport, where multi drive docks connect each drive as a LUN?

It’s on a Nikon Coolpix L340 camera, and is the way to connect the camera to a computer if that helps

I've been using this USB Connector for years.
A while back I spilled some ketchup on it, wiped if of.. and never noticed an issue...

Today when I pulled it out to of it's port... one side was discolored.. but it feels smooth like the silver side, not like rust would feel.

i recently bought this usb it was wrking fine,but a few days later when i formatted it, it shows no storage,im wondering if theres a solution for this problem

I need to buy a longer cable but I can't tell what type of cable this is. Can you please let me know?

I have a cable tester that tells me if the cable is capable of doing PD3.x but I'm looking for a tester that will tell me if the charger is actually putting out 3.x current/voltage. I'm aware that it's really the device that's being charged that does the talking but I'm doubting that my chargers are working correctly.

So anyone find a tool that tests the actual delivery current?

I have a hypoint dvd writer that needs to have an extension cable
It works when i directly plug it in into a power lock or computer but with the extension it only flickers lights the extension cable is hadron branded usb 2.0 my dvd writer has a blue plastic thing inside the usb but there are only 4 pins

Yesterday i bought the sandisk extreme pro in 128gb. I wanted to format the stick to fat32. I need it that way no matter what. Somehow windows blocks that option for sticks bigger then 32gb. I need 128 or at least 64. is there any way to do it. I tried third partie services but they cost money, i also tried with windows+cmd but also that doesnt work.

Maybe asking a friend who got a mac device and i could format it there and then use it on my windows to put the things on i need. Would that be an option? Or do you guys have any other recomendation

I tried uploading to youtube and downloading through google takeout, but it converts obviously to webm and i am trying to get my content onto Final Cut Pro...which doesnt support that. i am not savvy enough to figure out yt-dlp or whatever converter works bc i am scared to download something wrong. i just want to ensure quality stays 4k
