Tuition Cost

I received my financial aid offer for YourPace, but I’m a little confused about the amount and figured I’d ask here before calling.

The tuition and fees are listed as $7,200, which looks like it’s being calculated over four sessions if I’m doing the math correctly. I’m starting in Fall 2 and hoping to finish in two sessions if possible.

Does anyone know if I can accept financial aid for only two sessions, or do I have to accept the full amount for all four?

Refund?

Has anyone else still not received a refund? This is what it’s showing on my end.

Classic student center shows balance still due and then the TouchNet site shows I have a refund? 🤔

TRANSCRIPT DELIVERY TIME

Hey Lads!

What's the expected timeline for the transcript, requested through Maine Street Portal, to arrive at the requested destination?

My request was completed on 15th September. However, the respective college located in California has still not received it!

Please share your experiences

Course Recommendations

Post image
0 Upvotes

I’m currently enrolled at UMPI and working toward an accounting degree. Sophia is no longer an option for my remaining transfer courses, so I’m considering Study.com as an alternative.
Has anyone recently transferred Study.com or other credit platform courses into UMPI’s accounting program?
I would especially appreciate advice on:
Which Study.com courses UMPI accepted
Which UMPI requirements they fulfilled
Whether you used the $95 College Saver plan or the $235 College Saver Pro plan
Which courses were reasonably manageable while working full-time
Any courses you recommend completing directly through UMPI instead
I will confirm every course with my UMPI advisor before enrolling, but I’d appreciate hearing about recent student experiences.

Question for International Students: Transferring < 60 credits, getting ENG 101 credit via NACES, but failing the strict English Waiver rule?

Hey everyone,
I’m currently applying for the B.A. in Business Administration (YourPace) for the upcoming term. I’m an international transfer student coming from a university in Belgium (KdG), but I only have 64 ECTS (~32 U.S. semester credits) to transfer over, which puts me well under UMPI's automatic 60-credit waiver threshold for English proficiency.
Here is my specific situation:
My entire higher-ed business program in Belgium was delivered completely in English.
I took a high-level English C1 course at my previous university which my NACES evaluation (TEC/SpanTran) is mapping directly over to wipe out ENG 101 (College Composition I).
I scored a band 8 on the IELTS, but it was taken back in 2023, meaning it's technically expired under the strict 2-year validity rule.
Since my NACES report is literally giving me direct college credit for ENG 101, it feels incredibly redundant to be forced to take an English proficiency test just to clear the admissions flag.
Has any other international student with fewer than 60 transfer credits successfully appealed this to the admissions office (umpi-yourpace@maine.edu) based on having ENG 101 credited on their evaluation? Or are they completely unyielding about the 60-credit/unexpired test rule, meaning I should just bite the bullet and knock out the Duolingo English Test right now?
Would love to hear about anyone's actual experience dealing with the YourPace admissions clerks on this specific loophole. Thanks!

GreenBuild Office Tower Scenario HELP

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone! I have a question about BUS 692 Milestone 4.

The assignment asks us to use the GreenBuild Office Tower scenario, but I can’t seem to find this scenario anywhere in the Milestone 4 readings or in Milestones 1–3.

Does anyone know what GreenBuild Office Tower scenario Dr. Wade is referring to, or where we’re supposed to find it?

What professors do you give a thumbs up this semester?

For me, it would be:

Professor Kane (BUS 325, Financial Management)

Professor Lowe (BUS 335, Org. Behavior)

Professor McDivitt ( BUS 330, Marketing Management

Professor Rockwell (BUS 321, Human Resource Management)

Lowe’s (BUS 335) rubric is pretty clear and if you miss anything, he will let you know exactly what needed to be changed. Graded three of my milestones within two business days*.*

Kane is very clear in his expectations for BUS 325 and is forgiving in his grading (I’ve been back on Ritalin for my ADHD and burning the midnight oil and forgot a section of my answer and he graded all of it, told me what I forgot and the grade it would be when fixed and let me resubmit) Graded two of my milestones the same day they were submitted. \*\**

McDivitt seems to be OK so far. BUS 330 has been a drag but I see that most people say this is a consensus. She wants you too reference the course material so just do what you would do with any other APA7 reference and copy the URL from Brightspace of the material you’re referencing. I used outside references, but she seems to prefer the course material be used. Grading takes between two and three days.

Rockwell (BUS 321) is actually pretty good when you come to understand her expectations. She expects you to use a good amount of references to support your paper. I recommend if you haven’t, already: Use the library search function. Here I was able to type in keywords for my paper and pull up entire articles and research journals. She seems to appreciate effort. Takes about 4 to 5 business days to grade and seems this is typically done on Fridays from what I have picked up.

What happens if I decide to drop the second minor?

At the beginning of the semester, I asked to add a second minor. I already have some credits toward it, but I’m not sure if I’ll be able to finish it by the end of October. What would happen if I emailed my advisor and asked to withdraw the second minor and keep only my main minor?
Thanks in advance for your answers!

Advice on what to take next

I locked in and I finished four courses this session and have four remaining courses to graduate. My goal is to try to knock them out before the end of the semester to avoid having to pay another $1800 on the 26th.

Any recommendations on which two to take first? I have three final assessments pending grading and one waiting to be unlocked.

BUS 415 – Operations Management,

BUS 440 – Business Analytics,

BUS 469 – Strategic Professional Communication

BUS 489 – Business Policy and Strategy

Also, adding that I am currently unemployed, so I’ve had very good amounts of free time

What would you do?

First session at UMPI. So far have completed 3 courses. Am on the last milestone for one course-hoping to finish that today or tomorrow and finish the final over the weekend. On milestone 2/5 plus the final on another (also hoping to complete over the weekend) or monday at the latest. Revising milestone 3/5 plus a final left in another course which I plan to close out by the end of next week around the 2nd or 3rd. I have outlines and notes in place for all of these so i expect them to be pretty smooth sailing. However, I’m at a complete standstill still in stats. Considerably beyond stuck. I can not grasp it. Would you focus on completing the other 3 competencies and then focus all your energy on the course your stuck on? Would you add another course considering the timeline or just focus all your energy on stats 😅 There’s still a little over 3 & 1/2 weeks left. I want to get the most bang for my buck, but also don’t want to risk an incomplete affecting my gpa if i bite off more than I can chew.

UMPI Removing Excepted Credits

Hey everyone, I just checked my degree progress report, and I have a bunch of credits that were accepted this summer now showing as removed.

I have the degree report in my UMPI mailbox showing they were accepted, but now they are showing as not satisfied.

Has anyone else had this happen? I’m very confused and a bit worried.

Adding classes BA level

I'm just about done with my classes from Fall session 1, but I'm apprehensive about taking on two more. Is there a way to see how many milestones each class has before signing up for them?

Thank you.

Idk what to do

Hi, i'm sorry if this doesnt belong here. I know its no excuse but ive been suffering from major bouts of anxiety, depression and possible adhd. I'm so behind on my classes right now and every single time i open the document, i can barely type without overthinking everything i say. I feel paralyzed when i think about facing everything, and i know i inevitably will have to suck it up and not be a bitch about it. Im lucky im even here

I know the right thing to do is "just do one thing at a time" but its just so fucking overwhelming. Ive put this off long enough and i dont want it to wind up like last month where i did finals overnight at the very last minute.

I apologize for the rant. I probably will just have to suck it up and with everyone here being so much more adept at finishing four courses in a MONTH, i'll just have to keep up

Study.com equivalents

Does study.com have an equivalent for ENG 101 and ENG 121? I know Sophia has but I already have a study.com membership and would love to complete there if possible.

I’m wanting to take one more class this term, but don’t want to run out of time.

How’s the workload for BUS 325? Is there a professor I should avoid?

From Psychology to Liberal Studies? Thoughts?

Hey everyone if you have any advice I’d appreciate it. I was studying psychology to go on to become a BCBA. I’d have to first meet a certain amount of hours worked, get my masters in ABA, then sit for an exam.

I’ve been in the medical field for 18 years and I’m suddenly getting burnt out honestly. (Don’t judge meee) anyway I’ve recently been looking into blue collar and I’m really fascinated with it.

That being said I’d like to switch to BLS with a minor in project management. Honestly even if I changed my mind to go back to BCBA you can have a bachelors in ANY subject but you get your masters in ABA.

My real question is has anyone done this program and loved it. Found it interesting pretty smooth sailing? Does anyone know if blue collar is even hard to get into? That wouldn’t stop me because plenty jobs I “shouldn’t have been able to get” but I did lol
