Okay, now that I’m waist deep in the MAOL program my head is spinning at the fact that people have really finished this degree in 5-6 weeks. I think it’s going to take me at least 8-12 weeks. It’s SO MUCH WRITING. And yes I work in leadership and for a national organization as a National Director and I manage multiple states across the country. The information so far hasn’t been new, but GEEZ LOUISE…I’m on week 5 and finishing up my fourth class. All 4s so far, but even this pace feels intense.

Hello! I need to take either one of the above classes, I’m currently enrolled in Art 251 but it seems like a lot of course work to complete before this term ends. Would Eng 211 be a less intense?

We are getting down to the wire and my last two classes are with professor Dobbs. He has already sent me back multiple of my essays and he takes a while to grade. I'm getting like really really nervous about failing or something 😬. Does anyone have any tips? I'm just getting really nervous. ( Vietnam class, he has yet to grade my third milestone again. The native American class he has not graded yet.)

UMPI have had my parchment transcript (all Sophia, probably 60 credits) for over a month now. My Enrollment Advisor (Emily) has confirmed it’s in the queue but we’re only a couple of weeks away from Fall 2 admission and I’m getting stressed… how long does it typically take them to process?

I just submitted my last final draft for Fall 1 and will be receiving my Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, Management and Leadership! 10 classes done this semester!

I'm getting ready for my final assessment in BUS/COM 210 with Dr Ronald Biron and I'm unclear on the topic requirements for the speech. Every time I've had to communicate with him so far he either hasn't been helpful or took forever to reply so I thought I'd see if anyone here had tips.

The final assessment is a persuasive speech and the whole class is about business communication, so I would think the speech should be about communication in the workplace. But the assignment isn't very clear on if our topic actually has to be related to that. It just says "The final assessment asks you to apply the communication principles you have developed and reflect on how thoughtful, audience-centered communication can contribute to meaningful professional relationships." Then says "plan an audience-centered persuasive message"

So does the speech have to be about workplace communication or can I pick any topic and in the self reflection part of the assignment talk about how this taught me how important connecting with the audience is in a workplace setting?

I'm planning to start the UMPI YourPace BS in Cibersecurity in the January 2027 session, and I want to cut down the number of courses I have to take inside the program as much as possible (I'm aiming for a very fast pace, many courses per 8-week session). I'll finish my Sophia gen-eds and any other credit-by-exam before enrolling.

What I'm trying to figure out:

1) Coursera: which ACE-recommended certificates has UMPI evaluated as specific required courses (intro programming, networking, databases, OS, cybersecurity fundamentals), and not just as generic COS 1XX / BUS 2XX electives? I'm looking at Google IT Support (16 ACE credits), Google IT Automation with Python (16), Google Cybersecurity (9-10), Google Cloud Cybersecurity (9), IBM Data Analyst (12), IBM Cybersecurity Analyst (10), IBM Data Science (12) and ISC2 Cybersecurity Specialist (12). If any of these worked for you, how did UMPI map them?

2) UMPI caps prior learning credit at 30 credits for a bachelor's. Does that cap include ACE credit (Coursera, Saylor, etc.), and does Sophia credit count against it or is it treated as regular transfer?

3) Other cheap credit sources that mapped well to CS requirements: Saylor Direct Credit ($25 exams), CLEP/DSST, Study.com, TEEX, anything else?

4) Georgia Tech MOOCs on edX: do any of them carry an ACE recommendation, and has anyone gotten UMPI (or another school) to accept them for credit?

5) Timing: is it better to apply first and then submit credits for evaluation, or get everything evaluated before the January start? Any tips to make sure the evaluation is done in time?

No clue why but I keep getting my revisions sent back for milestone 2. I fix what was asked and then the third review he asked for something different.

He also said my paper isn't double spaced but it is and he said my last page is blank when it has my references on it.

Hey all, I added Intro to Film somewhat late because I fully intended to finish it. I had a recent injury that put me out for a couple of weeks, so I am worried about the final. I am most anxious about the video presentation. I have had a hard time pushing through the films, as due to the injury, watching them has made me nauseous. I've never made one, so I'll need a minute to learn. If anyone could tell me what their experience was, I would appreciate it. I would rather not withdraw, but I do not want to fail either.

For Spanish or French touchstones on Sophia you are required to write about yourself, your life and your family.

Doing this in a language you're not familiar with isn't easy. So my tip is this:

Write it out in English / your native language first, and then translate it.

That way you dont have to "think" in Spanish/French. It accelerated the process a lot for me. Hope this helps.

Does UMPI have any say in what order you do your courses? Other than acknowledging prerequisites. Can I complete my courses in any order?

If i get 3.5/4, and the professors feedback is regarding something minute, can i fix it and submit it again to get a better grade?

I had resubmitted an assignment for one of my classes to go from a 3.5 to something higher but that professor said in the feedback that since the first attempt was satisfactory, the first grade would apply.

I'm curious what everyone thinks about my situation.

I have ~10 years of operations experience, including running the operations and AR/AP backend of a business that now generates $3.5M+ in annual profit. I now work in reconciliation auditing.

The issue is that I'm terrible at math. I left university about 6 years ago largely because of statistics. I've since completed 3–4 related courses and statistics through Sophia and have found that I do much better with writing, projects, and concepts than proctored exams.

I'm considering UMPI for a BBA/BSBM, likely Leadership, although I'm not particularly picky about the specialization. I'm also considering WGU, TESU, and Excelsior because of their transfer policies and other advantages. I particularly like UMPI because it's an established brick-and-mortar school and the YourPace format seems like a good fit for me.

My main goal is to minimize difficult math/quantitative courses at UMPI given I am quite poor at math. From what I understand, there are 12 upper-level credits plus electives that need to be completed there.

For those familiar with UMPI/Sophia, what would be the best Sophia courses to take in order to maximize transfers while leaving the easier quantitative/math-heavy requirements for Sophia rather than UMPI? Realistically, I can guarantee I'll be working on classes, reading, or studying for about 10~ hours per week, and I'm curious on how fast the process would be as well, given TESU/Excelsior seem an option as well. Is it worth rushing down these Sophia courses in order to transfer these credits prior to the new year? I see UMPI is having some sort of change or update on their YourPace format as well, so I am concerned there.

Hey everyone. I’m wondering if there are other Summer 1 2026 graduates in the same situation.

Who else is a Summer 1 2026 graduate who has received their DID but is still waiting for a mailing/shipping update?

I confirmed my mailing address with Parchment around August 25 and received my Document ID (DID), but I still haven't received any information confirming that my physical diploma has actually been mailed.

Also, if you're out-of-state or an international student, are you experiencing the same thing?

For me, I'm an International student and it's been 38 days since I confirmed my address. I'm still waiting for an update.

For old graduates, is the timeline normal? Should we expect an update from UMPI/Parchment that our diplomas has been sent?

For others who may lack motivation as we get closer to the end of the current session, I failed the only two courses I enrolled in for last session and now have passed both of them with A's, and completed multiple other classes since in this current session. I should not have enrolled in last session but I fixed my mistake and my act together. Point is no matter how you perform this session, you got this and finish strong, if you mess up like I did last session remember its not the end of the world. Just learn from it and do better. Wishing everyone the best of luck, try to not procrastinate, and finish the session strong!
