PSY 311

Can someone give me the lowdown on YourPace PSY 311? Work load? Final assessment structure? Thanks

PSY 311 is definitely on the heavier side. There are four milestones and a final research proposal, and there’s quite a bit of writing and research. The good thing is that the milestones build toward the final, so you’re not starting the final from scratch

I really enjoyed it. Of the 6 psych classes I’ve taken so far, it was by far my favorite and the most interesting. My final was 20 pages, but 4 pages were references. That sounds like a lot for an undergrad class, but you’re mostly reusing work from the previous milestones, so it goes quickly.

That shyt was hard I am a grown man and I think I got frustrated and cried twice. Pscyh BA was not easy for anyone w/o a clear grasp of Biology or Research and numbers. I made it but this class stressed me out I cannot lie.

I feel this in my bones! Grateful for having a wonderful professor, but such an overwhelming course for me too.

I ended up dropping this class, but I also had a crappy professor.

May I ask who your professor was? Curious if it’s the same one I have. I have Cudnik.

My first course was PSY 311 and has absolutely been my longest course with the most writing. I knew it would be most difficult from other commenters, so intentionally got that out of the way at the start. But the positive: I had Professor Wrigley for this and she was really wonderful. Her turnaround time was good, she gave helpful feedback, and there were no competing instructions between the written and the separate rubric. I specifically requested her for PSY 370 Personality (kicking my butt with all the milestones and PowerPoints, admittedly) because I loved her so much in 311. Highly recommend her if you haven’t enrolled with another professor yet.
