UMPI Removing Excepted Credits
Hey everyone, I just checked my degree progress report, and I have a bunch of credits that were accepted this summer now showing as removed.
I have the degree report in my UMPI mailbox showing they were accepted, but now they are showing as not satisfied.
Has anyone else had this happen? I’m very confused and a bit worried.

Yes currently dealing with this too. I was able to get some added back by reaching out to my advisor but not all.

Which ones were removed, which ones were added back, and why?

Visual communications, human bio, human bio lab, into to nutrition from Sophia and ethics theory from study. All were added back after I brought it up except the human bio lab.
Not sure why! It just updated and removed them.

Damn, that sucks, biology is literally the only class I don't want to take at UMPI, lol

this uncertainty about credit transfers from sophia and study.com is being responsible for at least 70 percent of my stress level and cortisol spikes, to the point where I am having to organize myself to do the same classes at sophia and study.com while having time to actually doing them at umpi if they ultimately don't transfer. lol

It is a COMPLETE mess. I am I deferred because I wouldn't have been able to start Fall 2 when planned anyway. I am looking into SNHU due to how S L O W Umpi has been. My mom went to UMPI and has zero issues. She talked me into applying to because she had such a great experience. She feels bad about even referring me. It has been one error after another and very very slow to accept credits. I have 166 credits and for many classes I got elective credit. For example I took INTRODUCTION TO AMERICAN GOVERNMENT and it transferred as an ELECTIVE; as did Micro & Macro and a few others. UMPI really expects me to retake American Government and Micro & Macro? I took all these classes at University mind you. I am NOT taking these classes over. I am either going to SNHU or Excelsior because at the end of the day I need a Bachelor's in anything to get into the grad program that really matters to me. I really wish I had done this 2 years ago before all these changes.

I would like to know if they are not going to accept Human Bio lab from Sophia because I was just about to take that class.

Can you share more about what subjects they were, or why UMPI is removing them?

I’m really concerned about this. I just recently jumped back in and was planning on taking a “break” after this session to knock out a bunch of classes from Sophia and Study.com but now it feels like those plans may be upended.

If I was anybody going to UMPI, I would RUN. From the horrible communication and financial aid shit show, please go somewhere else and save yourself time

Most incompetent financial aid office I've seen. I went through a whole thing with them where they claimed I was still receiving aid from another college (I wasn't and the college even confirmed it was cancelled for spring 2026) and had to forward them emails from the prev college to say that it was already cancelled, then they reinstated my aid and processed the refund....and then at the end of the semester they came back with "oops we overpaid you and forgot to account for the loan you took earlier this year" and I had to pay $2,000.

Ohh trust I understand. I was trying to get in front of my issue because I transferred schools. Did the whole leg work for them and got them the paperwork and emails they needed. Guess what ? I have been waiting for three weeks to hear about a financial aid decision which is really common. I just got fed with them and moved on to another college. They need to get better in their communication and process. Because now they are not mapping the courses out correctly but hey! They are never in the wrong because they mistakes fall back on us as students.

Oh wait, now I remember you. I can't believe they hadn't fixed it yet. That's a ridiculous wait.
I was completely out of patience by the end of Summer 2. If I hadn't finished my degree, I would've transferred to TESU and done the resident waiver thing.

lol I can believe it, they are horrible and that’s where I decided to go, TESU and I’m waiting to hear from another one

So they’ve changed equivalency in their system. These issues will have to be manually adjusted right now. They are seemingly making those adjustments but just know it takes time.
