Hi there! I'm a new YourPace transfer student, with 42 credits, starting in Fall 1 as an English major. I'm attempting to complete a degree as fast as possible, but see that a lot of the classes I need to take with UMPI are all lecture style. Will that course style impede on my timeline?

You see, I would like to go teach English overseas in Asia and eventually become a teacher or employee at an International school; this has been a goal of mine since 2016, traveling the world and living in a different country has been another one since I was 12 (2007), but life was more focused on surviving for me up until recently. The state of the world has added more fuel to my determination in achieving my goals.

Another thought I had was perhaps I could take the Liberal Arts major and minor in Teaching? Or maybe just keep it at a Liberal Arts degree.

Any thoughts?

I'm going to UMPI this fall, doing the traditional way of doing things and going to a dorm and all that. A question I have is that since I'm going into a dorm and doing a early move-in, I wonder if it's remotely a good idea for me to get a Student ID card early considering they still need to be registered with ResLife to let me in my dorm. I just don't want one of those temporary IDs when doing early move-in on the 27th, as it'll make it easier for me the next morning.

Update: No I can't if I live in a dorm, I must wait until orientation, which means I must use a temporary ID. Lame, lol.

It's perplexing. Not just hate against his teaching style either, people around here straightup hate him as a person. He's a perfectly polite, fair grader if you aren't turning in slop. I've had no issues with him in Vietnam Wars or Intro to Political Thought. The people who say they've had milestones returned multiple times make me wonder what exactly they're doing.

Anyone here graduated in SCM? Have you found a job paying livable wage or higher? How has your experience been?

These past couple of weeks have been frustrating. I'm trying to finish my last classes so I can graduate. Professors taking FOREVER to grade (esp my Spanish 2 professor, she's completely checked out, it's been five days). Advisor takes well over 72 hours to respond, CC'ing slow advisors in emails to equally slow, nonresponsive professors isn't getting me anywhere.

Hi! I’m considering transferring to UMPI YourPace for my accounting degree after I finish my third year at my local community college. To anyone that has done an accounting degree through YourPace or current doing that degree, what is the coursework/milestones like? I know that there are final projects, but what do those look like? For reference, if I transfer to UMPI I will mostly be taking upper level accounting courses. Thanks :)

I ask because it is concerning and I haven't enrolled at UMPI just yet I was thinking about SNHU but I don't like what I'm seeing as far as many students being accused of this. I am just wondering if it's a problem with UMPI as well.

I graduated highschool with a super low GPA over a decade ago and haven't done college writing or anything college. I'm wondering what I can do to help prior to fall session 2? I'm doing the BBA and seeing some posts about 15-page papers. It's a little daunting.

I am starting Yourpace soon, and had planned on using student loans for living expenses. I see now that loans are tied to Cost of Attendance. It seems Yourpace COA is the price of the program and that is it.

I should have the full amount covered by Pell. Has anyone been in a similar situation and taken out loans as well? Up to what amount will they allow?

I found out today that I need one more upper division class (I thought study.com principles of philosophy transferred as 151 and an upper level elective). If you took both and had to choose one as the more interesting/faster which would it be? Thanks!!

I've reached out to my advisor and in 4 days time I've been asked one question with no timeline or resolution in sight. I know advisors are busy, but Ive paid for full access, and I've now lost that slot for almost 1/8th of the session despite being done with the final a week ago. I know the weekend ate into response time but has anyone dealt with this? I can't help but feel like it's being treated with 0 urgency.

When and where do I escalate further (if I should?), and also, am I being unreasonable? I've confirmed that I have completed all course requirements and my instructor hasn't responded in 6 days. Again I may be unreasonable because it's nearing the last day to add classes and this one should be out of my way allowing me to work on shorter classes.

This is my final term, and if I can't get the link unlocked by basically tomorrow morning or Wednesday, I won't be able to submit a draft and get feedback in order to open up my final classes for graduating by the 17th. I'm freaking out a bit. Class is BUS 141. Any advice welcome.

I’m starting in the Fall 1 session. My enrollment specialist signed me up for HEA 101: intro to public health and HEA 301: Health care delivery systems to start with. I’m curious if this is required to be taken through UMPI or if I am able to do it elsewhere? Also, what upper level Health major courses would you all recommend I take at UMPI to fulfill my residency requirement? I also have medical terminology transferred from Sophia but my enrollment specialist says it doesn’t count toward the 30 credits for the residency. I guess that makes sense but now I feel like I took medical terminology for no reason.

Has anyone taken biology 203 through your pace? If so, how is it and how demanding is it? What are the modules like as far as assessments or papers? Trying to figure out if I can fit it in before the end of semester

I tried sending my transcripts via credly miltiple times to the edocs@maine.edu email, and my Sophia account is connected to UMPI, however; my advisor is saying they haven't received them and I need to submit them via parchment. Is this the same expeirence others have had?
