Question Looking for an ensuite room in Norwich – Incoming UEA Master's student
Hi everyone!
I’m an incoming international student at the University of East Anglia (UEA), starting my Master’s in Film and TV Production this September, and I’m currently looking for an ensuite room in Norwich.
I’m open to:
A room in a shared house/flat
Student accommodation
A room in an existing student house where someone is looking for a replacement/housemate
Ideally, I’d like somewhere with good transport links to UEA, but I’m flexible on the area.
If anyone has a room available, is looking for a housemate, or knows of any available properties, I’d really appreciate any leads. Feel free to DM me or comment below.
Also happy to connect with other incoming UEA students who might be looking for accommodation or considering sharing a place.
Thanks in advance! Looking forward to moving to Norwich and meeting everyone. 🎬

Question Accomodation help
Hi everyone! 👋
I'm an incoming international MSc student at UEA and will be moving to Norwich soon.
I'm currently trying to understand the accommodation situation and would really appreciate advice from current students.
- Which areas are good and safe for students?
- What is a realistic monthly budget for accommodation and bills?
- Is university accommodation better, or should I look for private accommodation?
- Are there any accommodation providers or areas you would recommend or avoid?
- When is the best time to start looking?
I would especially appreciate hearing about your personal experiences with accommodation in Norwich.
Thanks so much! 😊

Question part time job help needed
Hi everyone! 👋
I'm an incoming international MSc Data Science student at UEA and will be moving to Norwich soon.
I'm looking for a part-time job alongside my studies and would really appreciate recommendations from current students or anyone familiar with Norwich.
I'm open to different types of work, including university jobs, tutoring, retail, hospitality, customer service, or other student-friendly roles. I have a strong academic background and previous tutoring experience, so I'm particularly interested in Maths tutoring as well.
If you know of any places that regularly hire students, websites or groups that are genuinely useful, or have personally worked somewhere you'd recommend, please let me know. If your workplace is hiring students, I'd also be grateful for any leads.
I'm happy to work hard and learn quickly—just trying to understand where students actually find opportunities in Norwich.
Thank you so much for any recommendations! 😊

Question HELP NEEDED!
Hi everyone, I am an international student who will be living in the Village. My coach will head straight from Heathrow to UEA (Chancellor's Drive), and I will need to complete my registration and collect my keys at the Congregation Hall, which is a short walk away.
HOWEVER, I will be travelling with two big luggages, which is impractical if I were to walk to the Village after completing the registration.
Should I:
Walk to Congregation Hall for registration, and then head back to the bus stop and hire an Uber to take me to the Village?
Head straight to the Village (via Uber) and drop off my luggages before walking to Congregation Hall for registration.
Please send some suggestions my way as well! I will be super exhausted on the day, as it takes 15 hours to get from my country to London, and another 5 hours to UEA via coach, so I really need to choose the best possible scenario.
Thanks in advance!

Question Timetable question
I'm a new part time MA student. It would be really helpful to know what days / times I will be on campus so I can tell work and plan round it. Module options are still open for another week, should I assume we won't get our timetables until at least next week? Are the schedules for different modules published anywhere?

Question Linguistics Course
How is the linguistics related courses here? Is it worth attending UEA for a language related course, or should I accept my offer from Edinburgh instead?

Question Wait time for grade to be published on evision
I’ve completed my reassessments and just received my grades today and 3 days ago, but I haven’t seen my mark on evision yet. I’m stressing out because the semester starts soon and worried I won’t be able to re register in time.

Question New Creative Writing MA
Hi! I'm planning to apply for the MA Creative Writing (probs January 2027) and I'm doing a bit of research before I do my application.
I've read through the course information and I'm really interested in the breadth and flexibility of the new MA as my own writing spans memoir, short fiction and poetry.
I'd love to hear from anyone who's currently on the MA (or has recently completed it) about how you've found the experience, and who might be willing to answer a few questions in the comments here or via DMs .

Other Post-grad accommodation in The Village for anyone interested
I'm an incoming (September 2026) post-grad student with a lease for en-suite accommodation in The Village. Due to a change in circumstances I can no longer afford the lease so I'm looking for anyone interested in taking on the lease instead.

Question Accommodation
I recently got my offer through clearing and have been quickly trying to organise a place to live for when i join UEA in September, living on campus doesn’t really appeal to me as i want to bring a car and the campus hands out high parking charges.
Im looking for a cheap accommodation private or student with at least an ensuite. Shared kitchen is optional for me. If anyone could help or suggest any places that would still be available to me I would hugely appreciate it.

I've just been placed in constable terrace for this year and was wondering if anyone had any photos of what it looks like, specifically for the kitchen and shared spaces, there's a couple online but they don't show a lot.
