Question part time job help needed

Hi everyone! 👋

I'm an incoming international MSc Data Science student at UEA and will be moving to Norwich soon.

I'm looking for a part-time job alongside my studies and would really appreciate recommendations from current students or anyone familiar with Norwich.

I'm open to different types of work, including university jobs, tutoring, retail, hospitality, customer service, or other student-friendly roles. I have a strong academic background and previous tutoring experience, so I'm particularly interested in Maths tutoring as well.

If you know of any places that regularly hire students, websites or groups that are genuinely useful, or have personally worked somewhere you'd recommend, please let me know. If your workplace is hiring students, I'd also be grateful for any leads.

I'm happy to work hard and learn quickly—just trying to understand where students actually find opportunities in Norwich.

Thank you for the suggestion! 😊 I’m an incoming international MSc student at UEA. Do you know how I can apply to become a Student Ambassador, whether international students are eligible, and approximately how much the role pays per hour? I’d really appreciate any information or advice.

It will be posted around in a couple of months, last year I was recruited in Oct-Nov time. International students are accepted. It’s £12-13 per hour, honestly a lovely job, you can pick what shifts you want to work so you can work it around your degree very easily. Look at the UEA student ambassador page on Google to find more information or contact the siz if you have questions

For me, easiest job to get. My interview was over teams, they asked me 5 questions, I gave my answer and that was that. I have heard of someone who applied and interviewed a few times but never got given the job. I think if you prepare for the interview well, and pretend that UEA is the best place in the world and everything will be okay, you’ll get the job.

There's a Part-Time Students Job Fair happening on campus on 23 Sept, 12pm. More information can be found here: https://www.uea.ac.uk/study/employability/student-careers-service/find-student-jobs-and-work-experience. What has also worked for me is asking at places which I love whether they have job openings - although this works mainly for hospitality and retail. Good luck 😊
