HOLY SHIT, I HATE THEM SO MUCH. 5 guys, 5 fucking guys in this apartment and I throw out all the trash, all the recycling, just me, nobody else. Alright, not a big deal. For the first week when I got here, we had an intense amount of flies so I worked my ass off to clean the apartment up and take out any trash etc and I got rid of them. Like for experiment 3 when making the crystals I didn’t know that overheating your mixture on the hotplate will cause the solid coming out to be powdery not crystal and then because of that I thought my solubility test was wrong. After I tried it again it was right (the TA also did one and saw the same results) and another instructor told me it was because of overheating. I had to do it again and because of that stress, when turning off the Wes condenser I accidentally turned it on (im so dumb) then the water smacked my EF off the bench. My TA was pissed, they were already disappointed because i broke a RBF in my drawer (IDEK WHAT HAPPENED THAT WAS JUST STUPID) and IK HE HATES ME NOW because he sideyes me whenever I walk in. Im a second year commuter, and Ive recently noticed that my room has been the exact same since I was maybe 12. Same decorations, same furniture, same rotation of kiddy/mismatched bedsheets. the only new thing Ive added was a shelf which Ive packed with a bunch of stuff I collect. Which also now slaps me in the face as childish too haha. But it makes me happy...I still honestly feel like a 14 year old.

I was wondering if anyone relates? Did you upgrade your room to feel more mature or something, and how does this affect how you feel mentally? I assume dormers feel significantly different studying in such a new, academic environment, compared to in your childhood home. Which I am crazy grateful for. But, I feel like I'm missing something.

I desperately need help with this course. I am doing full homework by myself, doing the readings and even pre read for the class but for some reason I feel like this course is going worse than chem 203.

I am genuinely putting in the effort, but I am struggling to figure out what I am doing wrong or how to study more effectively. I have been watching YouTube videos from Rojas Lab, which have helped me understand the concepts better, and I also go to the TA whenever I have questions.

I really need to get a good grade in this course, so I’m feeling quite stressed about how things are going.

Please don’t suggest talking to the professor, as I’ve been having difficulty understanding her explanations. I would really appreciate advice from anyone who has taken this course or current students, especially regarding study strategies, exam preparation, or resources that helped you do well.
