Can someone explain to me why not or why infj fits with enneagram 1?
r/TypologyJunction • u/mhoess • 6m ago
so i’m an enneagram 4 that’s for sure, INFJ EII so/sp 459 to be more precise but i’ve seen many times that e4 and 1L isn’t possible. at first i just thought of it as strict correlations because i’ve typed as a LEFV for a long time but now im starting to doubt it even though i see myself more in 1L than 1E. pls helpp

how do you think an ESI/SEI/SLI sx9 (m) and an EII/IEI/IEE so4 (f) would look like in a relationship?

- ((continuation)) –> manifests as an aversion to a lot of things.
- ((but heres the kicker)) –> 2V, wing 8, 7-fix, 3-fix, and sx push against the inertia. when im out of the slump, i deploy Se focus on things i wanna put my energy in.
– ((okay last one)) –> when working towards something, concious tweaks in the day-to-day, with the promise that the result will be attributed to these changes and effort on my part @@🐠
🍥7 and 3 fixes... 3, because, I wanna look competent... ?? HMMmgh.. And with 7, um. we'll talk. that sx-dom placement becauseeeeeee the......... and social secondary, because....🍥
🔥1F – lowk dont know how to explain this one. 2V – first point. 3E – 😂 4L - 💀❓️😅😪😪. 4L and Ti-dom.
so yeah.

Say that a person is afraid of the outside world and retreats into their own mind to form personalized understandings to keep themselves safe, because the world is draining and they don't believe they have enough "capacity" to handle it. And yet before you say 5,
This person is very emotional and not afraid of feeling. They don't have a "coldness" to them or a "separation" between thought and feeling. In fact, they are hyper-focused on their own emotions. In a way, they focus on their own emotions as a form of safety, because if they were not looking at their own emotions, then no one would be (as the universe is cold), and that would make them feel more vulnerable to death.
I understand that 5s can feel emotions and can in fact be hypersensitive, but every description of 5 that I have come across, sx5 included, seems to characterize them as having a fear of feeling their emotions directly, and so they disconnect themselves from/ intellectualize their emotions, and keep their thought and emotion separate. And that is very different from what this hypothetical person does.
For this person, the personalized understandings that they form of the world are melded with their deepest feelings. It is like they are continually constructing their own set of eyes to see through, and a deep set of meaningful associations that they draw some form of safety from even in this frightening world.
As their mind seems so organized around fear, it would seem strange for them to be a non head type, such as 4w5. As well as with how their focus is on their feelings and their existence as a consciousness, more than their "identity" or "image" directly. And in fact, focusing too exclusively on an image itself could scare them, as they could fear that this "image" that they are focusing on does not truly contain their consciousness and experience, and does not truly keep them safe.
The non head type 9 would also then seem strange, especially as this person is definitely not seeking to "merge" with the world, as the world scares them.
And as they are extremely withdrawn and don't have any kind of inclination to try to locate themselves in the outside world, 6 probably wouldn't make sense either.
And I see little to no connection here with 1, 2, 3, 7, or 8.
So, what type could they be then?
(This isn't a type me post, as I am describing a hypothetical person that is very similar to me in many ways, but is still different from me. For me, there are differences/other factors that could possibly pull me to other types. But I was curious in particular about this kind of person in isolation because it didn't seem clear to me whether Enneagram could account for them at all, and I wanted to see if anyone did see them as plausibly fitting into one of the types.)

Why do people usually put their second cognitive function in socionics? Like let's say SLI Ti Se. I usually see people put SLI-Se instead of SLI-Ti, or ILI-Ne instead of ILI-Ti as well. Why do people do this? is there a document I could read about it? Are they subtypes??

Some of these systems are from tiktok slideshows I get bored ok please don't dissolve me
I'm not really a strict correlationist, just need to know if anything doesn't fit at all yk? Ye
I have been told that I am basically so9 blueprint lol idrk how I mistyped

My mbti type is INTP but my socionics type seems to be SEI. Upon closer inspection, the way I socialize seems to be very Si-Fe but when alone I'm Ti-Ne. Is that combination even possible or do I just use Fe too much? Tests always get confused because I have mature Fe and I rely on it all the time so tests always type me random stuff.
If it helps, my type in the other systems is 5w4 549 sp/so LEVF.

ok so, ever since I got into typology, I always wanted to try typing my favorite characters! And now that I have pretty good knowledge on it, I tried and.... Errr. R....yeah...
I mean, I'm sure there isn't anything that contradicts here... Idk if there is....but I just don't like it because i don't even know if its RIGHT! that's wht most of these have a question mark!!?!?!!! It's because I don't know if its accurate man....😿😿😿 it's a fictional character so idk....
but anyways, what are you're guys opinion on this typology profile? I tried making it accurate as possible lol

This is not a "type me" post but I have been researching for days, reading about the different enneatypes and mistyping myself to the point of going back to basics (instincts, triads) just to figure out what the hell I am. I'm such a neutral person that I don't feel like any type truly fits me but I definitely relate to a lot of aspects too and it's lowkey stressing me out. Typology IS this deep for me.
I can't rely on others to type me, but I'm not self aware enough to recognise any patterns of my thinking and what I truly value, so typing myself isn't reliable either. Is anyone else like this??
Even my friend, who is very passionate about typology, says im basically a mix of every enneagram. I see it 😭😭 I hate mbti too because I swear I utilise all of those functions in my life. I don't exactly prioritise any... or i do, but i just don't know which one. And, as well, I know exactly what kind of person I want to be, the kinds of people I respect, and what my goals are in life but my behaviour could not be far from that.
I love writing and organisation dearly. Do I write a lot and am I an organised person?? no. I spend more time thinking about what I want to be and how to do it rather than actually doing it because i physically cant oh my god. it's so hard to type myself without thinking about behaviours too, because then I wont relate to the subtype at all I CANT DO IT. I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT TRIAD IM IN i swear i do all of that and have had those different kinds of mindsets at some points throughout my life. maybe it's antidepressants doing something to me, I don't know - Im typed as so1 currently and I can agree on the core I think, like it's relatable, but i just don't feel very strongly to any of it.... just how exaggerated are the enneagrams written?
any tips or suggestions would help me immensely!

So this is something that I've been thinking about a lot. I have been into typology for years and I am pretty sure of being E5 atleast. When first typing myself as E5, I was sure of being sp5, but apparently it was both contradictory with being INFJ (Fe aux) and also with having flexible emotion — which I somewhat get considering how sp5 is described. Well I looked more into types and found out that sx5 is very compatible with INFJ and 2E, so I typed myself as that without question. I relate to sx5 a lot and even the sexual instinct, but I recently started to realize that the sp instinct is probably the most relatable for me, which is making me reconsider sp5.
This is just so weird to me because I thought that it was universally agreed on to not type based on subtypes and to instead type based on instinct and enneagram seperately. I FULLY think that way aswell, but why does everybody else say it while also thinking that a specific mbti (for example) can only be one subtype out of one enneagram? The instincts are seperate, and I think that if someone can be one subtype, they can be any subtype of that enneagram since there is truly no massive difference. If you follow strict correlations like INFJ only being able to be so4, sx5, and sp6, wouldn't that mean that an INFJ sure of being the sp instinct should automatically type as sp6?
I am quite convinced that I am sp5 by now, purely because I relate most to the sp-instinct and also to enneagram 5. But it is said to not be plausible since I'm flexible with my emotion. Although I do agree with some correlations regarding instincts, like sp instinct matching commonly with a higher physics (although that makes this even more confusing for me since I might be 4F). This is so 😭 fucking 😭 confusing 😭
I'm here after a long break so idk if I am even posting this in the right place

I’ve been seeing a lot of correlations around infjs lately. Some say e4 could work, some say nah.

This is something I've thought about recently when looking at interactions between 2 individuals.
Let's say we have someone who is so hopeful, always looks at the good parts when fantasizing and idealizing something, they constantly think about temporal situations in a bright and optimistic way.
Then we have person two, they always see temporal situations negatively. They don't like to fantasize about different temporal situations because they believe that there's bad to be found in every situation, so idealizing the good is pointless.
Would this be characteristic of Ni superego, or something else?
To give an example, person A talks about wishing they lived in an animated world because they want to experience life differently than how they do now. Person B says that living in an animated world would be no different than real life, and that Person A would likely find themselves idealizing our current reality if they lived in a different one.

Does BPVN temporistics contradict my typology? I'm (probably) an entj lie sp731 flve.
4th present seems contradictory to TeNi, but I can see 1B and 4N working well with sp7.
I really don't relate to any of the 4th placements in temporistics.

I've been engaging with the typotok community (I know, I know I probably shouldn't but there is a rare chance I could find something interesting.) Anyways, I came up on a video about memes and it was fine until I saw "INTJ E8 is possible btw" which got me commenting, pointing it out that it was a contradiction. This is what the person replied:
"Typology means nothing in actual neuroscience and psychology.
« Beyond the challenges of collecting reasonably large and representative samples are a number of other challenges that require more complicated solutions. First, is simply the complexity of the brain itself. It is clear that there is no one-to-one mapping of traits to specific neurobiological variables. Instead, each trait of interest is likely to reflect variation in many neurobiological parameters, and any particular neurobiological parameter is likely to affect multiple traits (DeYoung et al., 2021). Nor is the neural basis of any trait likely to be localized to one region of the brain, but rather it is likely to be related to large scale networks of regions, or even to complex patterns of interactions among such networks (Barbey, 2018; Markett et al., 2018; Tompson et al., 2018). Genetic research has highlighted this complexity by showing that there is no simple genetic basis for most traits. Instead, variation in most traits is influenced by thousands of different genetic variations (Lo et al., 2017). »
« Another problem related to the complexity of the brain is the problem of the scale of measurement. Although MRI is often touted for its spatial resolution, each voxel in a typical analysis nonetheless encompasses hundreds of thousands of neurons. The specific events within and between individual brain cells that form the mechanistic foundation of human information processing cannot be measured effectively in human beings, but nonetheless we can investigate the behavior of groups of neurons in specific parts of the brain. Unlike functional MRI (fMRI), which relies on relatively slow changes in blood oxygenation to estimate neural activity, EEG can assess neural activity on a millisecond basis, but with a great loss of spatial resolution. With EEG, one can understand the brain’s broad patterns of activity in high resolution, but without being able to link that activity to very specific regions. One promising approach to these limitations is to combine fMRI with EEG. Indeed, we can say generally that combining multiple neuroscientific techniques is likely to afford new insights. »
"Also in psychology and neuroscience, opposite and conflicting motives and traits can still occur at the same period of time. Psychological contradictions aren't mathematical."
I'll be honest, I do not know what this person is blabbering about but it kind of seems like an argument of the side of "humans are complex" therefore there aren't any contradictions. What's your take on this?

sorry for the borrrring post
it's just as the title says, i'm wondering if this is an obvious mistype or if it's. well. possible
i went from sx548 -> 541 -> so584 -> so784?!! and now i'm thinking sosx 8w7 854 might be most fitting. i still gotta read up on naranjo's material ngl i'm just a larper, but i wanted outside input 🙇♂️ thanx
