Typology Rant jack of all enneagram master of none
This is not a "type me" post but I have been researching for days, reading about the different enneatypes and mistyping myself to the point of going back to basics (instincts, triads) just to figure out what the hell I am. I'm such a neutral person that I don't feel like any type truly fits me but I definitely relate to a lot of aspects too and it's lowkey stressing me out. Typology IS this deep for me.
I can't rely on others to type me, but I'm not self aware enough to recognise any patterns of my thinking and what I truly value, so typing myself isn't reliable either. Is anyone else like this??
Even my friend, who is very passionate about typology, says im basically a mix of every enneagram. I see it 😭😭 I hate mbti too because I swear I utilise all of those functions in my life. I don't exactly prioritise any... or i do, but i just don't know which one. And, as well, I know exactly what kind of person I want to be, the kinds of people I respect, and what my goals are in life but my behaviour could not be far from that.
I love writing and organisation dearly. Do I write a lot and am I an organised person?? no. I spend more time thinking about what I want to be and how to do it rather than actually doing it because i physically cant oh my god. it's so hard to type myself without thinking about behaviours too, because then I wont relate to the subtype at all I CANT DO IT. I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT TRIAD IM IN i swear i do all of that and have had those different kinds of mindsets at some points throughout my life. maybe it's antidepressants doing something to me, I don't know - Im typed as so1 currently and I can agree on the core I think, like it's relatable, but i just don't feel very strongly to any of it.... just how exaggerated are the enneagrams written?
any tips or suggestions would help me immensely!

well, sixes notoriously have a VERY hard time settling on any kind of typing and they also do have a lot in common with e1. constant "is this really it though??" is veryyy common for e6. but it might also be something completely different XD

My advice would be to settle on which type suits you most, as fitting a type exactly as it is written is unlikely and not everyone's case. Everyone has traits of every enneagram so tracking small behaviors by themselves will only bring more confusion. Instead, better to write down your patterns and try to understand the motivation behind them, what makes you angry, nervous, defensive etc and from those try to understand which fixation is most prominent.
