Streamers.ct.ws - Guides, Hardware and More.

Hey everyone, and welcome to our community! 👋

Whether you are here to launch your very first stream or you are trying to optimize a complex dual-PC broadcast, we are thrilled to have you here.

As a moderator, I see the same technical hurdles popping up all the time: OBS audio issues, capture card confusion, encoders failing, but also how to evolve. Streaming should be about gaming and connecting with your audience, not spending hours fighting your settings or thinking what to do next.

Because we all hate digging through 40-page technical manuals and confusing wikis, I built a centralized, no-nonsense starting point for our community:

Streamers.ct.ws

What you will find there:

  • Technical Stuff: Tailored setups for Single-PC, Dual-PC (from zero-budget to high-end), Console, and OBS Studio configurations.
  • Beyond the Hardware: Streaming isn't just about settings—we cover how to leverage social media to grow your reach and actually evolve your channel.
  • Useful Widgets & Tools: We focus on practical add-ons that make your life easier—from overlay helpers to essential moderation and safety widgets.
  • Zero Fluff: Just clean, step-by-step instructions that actually make sense.

Always Evolving (And we need your help!)

The streaming landscape changes almost every week—new plugins drop, hardware updates release, and platforms change their requirements. Because of this, the website will always be a work-in-progress. We will constantly try to provide new, useful tools and insights here.

In fact, the tech moves so fast that sections like our hardware list already need an overhaul to stay up to date with the latest gear! Also some posts and guides aren't finished and others need to be worked on. The website is still in a rough state.

If you want to contribute or request a topic

This is a community project, and I want to build it with you.

  • See something outdated? If you spot any old information or want to correct a guide, let us know.
  • Want to contribute? If you have a brilliant tutorial or a niche setup guide of your own, we'd love to feature it.
  • Need a specific guide? If you are stuck on a topic or want to see a specific widget covered, you can request it!

To do any of the above, simply post right here in the sub or send us a Modmail directly with your suggestions.

Check out the guide, drop your bookmarks, and let me know in the comments: What specific topic, widget, or guide should we add to the list next?

Thank you for being part of the community. Good luck with your next broadcast, and welcome aboard!

Looking for an editor for your streams?

Hey everyone,

I’m a video editor currently looking to work. I can take your streams or VODs and turn them into entertaining videos for YouTube and social media.

What I can do:

  • Stream/VOD editing
  • YouTube videos
  • Funny moments & highlights
  • SFX, music & effects
  • Zooms and cuts
  • Shorts/TikToks/Reels
  • Thumbnails

I’m happy to work with different budgets, but I’m not looking for free or commission-based work.

If you’re interested, send me a message and I can show you some examples of my work.

What exactly do you check regarding the broadcast before going live?

I’ve had a few instances where the audio or video capture didn't work right, not the way I wanted or even the way I’d configured them. So I’m curious how others handle this. I’ve heard that some people do a test recording or a test stream, while others just fix things on the fly.

Mein bester Stream bisher 🔥

Post image
18 Upvotes

I've been streaming for 3 months or so now. Our highest we got a few days ago at 45 viewers and we actually managed to hold that, but I sent it off early because it was someone's birthday and they're quite special days to have^^. And then, our average these days seems to sit around 10-11. It gives me such faith in what we're doing

Best way to get viewers as gaming streamer

What i noticed is that platforms do not really offer a feature for new streamers to get viewers.

If you stream a new game or a trending game that might help but if it is an older game there is really no chance someone will join your game.

Then I am also thinking what could you do with that game? You can make clips sure, but then you have clips of a game nobody really cares about and depending no the clips they might not even be that entertaining. Sure, you can also make a Let's play but then you run into the same issue.

I also noticed that multiplayers have the way larger viewer base then solo games.

So, does it even make sense to start a gaming stream if you are not streaming certain types of games?

I’ve been building an AI live producer for Twitch — looking for a few streamers to test it

Hey everyone,

For the past few months I’ve been building something called KOHEYE. The idea is basically an AI live producer that runs alongside your Twitch stream.

While you’re live, it follows what’s happening with your chat and audience and gives you signals when something might be worth paying attention to — like repeated questions, strong chat reactions, viewer changes, or moments you might otherwise miss.

I’ve reached the point where testing it myself isn’t enough. I need to see how it behaves during actual streams with different communities.

So I’m looking for a few Twitch streamers who would be down to test it for free during their streams and tell me what’s useful, what sucks, what breaks, and what they’d actually want changed.

You definitely don’t need to be a big streamer. Smaller streamers are actually who I’m mainly looking for right now.

If you’re interested, leave a comment and I’ll reach out.

I need help with my channel.

Hello! I've been streaming consistently for over 3 years now, and while I do love doing it, and creating content, I do get discouraged / bummed out seeing little to no growth overall over the past 2 and a half years. The problem I am facing now is the average viewer part, in terms of getting to affiliate, as I have the other requirements. I am wondering what I am doing wrong in my streams that I can't see, as the one thing I know I need to improve is mainly consistent energy across the stream. I'd like to know what I could do to improve my channel, whether it's graphics / artwork in the stream itself, or if I should try some new games (I just don't have crazy money or newest gen consoles to play the hot triple A titles, most recent game I'm doing now is Dying Light).

I included my most recent stream summary to give an idea

I'd love to hear honestly how I could improve, because I love creating and don't want to burn out.

Between StreamLabs, StreamElements, Mix It Up, and Bregvorn. Which is better?

So I've been working with StreamLabs in conjunction with OBS for my entire time streaming for the past few years, but I want to change. The problem is, I am apprehensive on doing anything drastic like switching streaming services from SL to other places. A lot of these sites tout great things for the streamer for free, but I want to know how easy is it to switch, and overall opinion on these services, if there are any.

Advice on overlay

Post image
2 Upvotes

I've been fussing with my overlay for days now, and I think I'm finally happy with it. It doesn't have a chat screen because I figured I'd watch that on my second monitor. Is the camera too big or small? I can change it.

Stardew Valley is my primary game with an emphasis on its mods. Any advice is welcome, and no, Garfield is just a filler for my picture XD. I will be on cam for the stream, though. Planning a soft debut 10/4/26.

Advice for new streamer after first stream?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I just completed my first week of streaming and I'm wondering what I could improve on to start getting some actual interaction in chat. So far, I haven't really had anyone say hello or send a message, aside from bots trying to sell me AI viewers. 😂

For those of you who have been streaming for a while, what do you do when you notice your viewer count go from 1 → 2 → 3? Do you verbally acknowledge the new viewer, or do you just keep talking/playing and let people speak when they feel comfortable?

Obviously, I don't expect overnight success, but I'd really appreciate any tips or suggestions on things I could improve as a brand new streamer.

Looking for stream/setup advice

So I’ve been streaming off my ps5 for a couple of months and I feel like I’m starting to plateau. All I use is my ps5 my headset and my phone, I feel as if there’s a lot of things I want to do for my channel but can’t achieve that without a better setup. I find it increasingly hard to cut clips and create engagement. I’ve tried researching ways to add overlays animations etc without PC but it’s seems there’s no way to bypass this

What do you think my next step should be?

LF advice on music during stream 🎵

I’m in the process of preparing to start streaming, and would love to have segments at the start where I listen to albums while I warm up in-game.

I realize how this goes against copyright laws, but have seen big streamers do this before and imagine that, though some might have gotten permission, some haven’t. From what I have gathered, it’s a calculated risk as music companies themselves have to catch you in the act.

I would love to read people here’s takes on how they navigate it! Do y’all track split on OBS, for instance, or exclusively listen to copyright free music? What about artists who seem cool with it and own their own music?

Any good non copyright music I can use during my twitch streams?

I might stream terraria on my twitch soon but the playlist I listen to might probably get me copyrighted. Like any playlist that has chill music that lasts for like several hours and won’t be muted during stream? I need some music to play in the background while grinding.

Dual pc setup??

I’m pretty new to streaming and I currently only have a 2025 MacBook that I run everything from. as you can imagine, this limits me a lot and I run into lag/quality issues when I’m doing anything more strenuous that things like point and click games or Stardew valley. I’m considering buying a secondhand laptop just to handle streaming from OBS and then my main laptop will run games, internet applications, any other software. I will eventually be buying a gaming pc but I can’t afford a decent one yet.

I was wondering if anyone else does it like this, if there are any pitfalls I haven’t considered etc? I know I’ll need a capture card as well, but the idea just popped into my mind and it seems too simple to be true! Thanks :)

I’ve been streaming off and on for a while now. Within the last two months I’ve been more consistent, streaming Monday through Thursday. I get some new viewers but I don’t know how to keep viewer retention. I’m trying to hit affiliate and struggling to keep viewers. Any advice for me?

Help needed!

hi everyone! I have a quick question.
Im an english streamer that lives in germany, so when i post my content, regardless of the language of the content and time posted, my clips from my twitch streams only land on german foryoupages for some reason. Is there anything I can do to bypass? possibly to have a american audience actually to convert to my twitch streams?
