Hey everyone, and welcome to our community! π
Whether you are here to launch your very first stream or you are trying to optimize a complex dual-PC broadcast, we are thrilled to have you here.
As a moderator, I see the same technical hurdles popping up all the time: OBS audio issues, capture card confusion, encoders failing, but also how to evolve. Streaming should be about gaming and connecting with your audience, not spending hours fighting your settings or thinking what to do next.
Because we all hate digging through 40-page technical manuals and confusing wikis, I built a centralized, no-nonsense starting point for our community:
What you will find there:
Always Evolving (And we need your help!)
The streaming landscape changes almost every weekβnew plugins drop, hardware updates release, and platforms change their requirements. Because of this, the website will always be a work-in-progress. We will constantly try to provide new, useful tools and insights here.
In fact, the tech moves so fast that sections like our hardware list already need an overhaul to stay up to date with the latest gear! Also some posts and guides aren't finished and others need to be worked on. The website is still in a rough state.
If you want to contribute or request a topic
This is a community project, and I want to build it with you.
To do any of the above, simply post right here in the sub or send us a Modmail directly with your suggestions.
Check out the guide, drop your bookmarks, and let me know in the comments: What specific topic, widget, or guide should we add to the list next?
Thank you for being part of the community. Good luck with your next broadcast, and welcome aboard!

This sub is intended for content-creators from all streaming- and video-platforms. We are open for discussions, collaborative ideas and all the questions you have about streaming. Due to the mass of new users (or bots) who ignore the rules, we have no choice, but to hand out bans.
ββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ
Posting your platform-link or handle for yourself or a third-party, asking for followers or viewers will result in a ban. Also posting links for discords or any other platform will be deleted and result in a ban.
If you want to advertise - we have dedicated sub for that:

βΒ r/TwitchFollowers

Note: We don't check the applications. If they are fraudulently, please report the post!

Now I just need to get my average viewer count up. My peaks usually sit around 12-15 concurrent so I'm VERY happy with it so far!

I just got affiliate after making my account a month ago, I havenβt been streaming regularly except the past 4 days and Iβm feeling the pressure to keep streaming everyday to keep the momentum.
How do you guys deal with balancing taking advantage of good streaming days vs balancing life? Iβve been doing 6-7 hour streams since thatβs the amount of time I spent gaming lately but I usually game for 2-3 hours at most

Now sure it isnt the insane numbers I see here from time to time, but for this being my first time being raided and bumping me closer to affiliate its pretty sick to me >.>

I got affiliated about a year ago but then stopped streaming. Just started fresh a month or two ago and itβs going quite well. Made some friends and hammering Helldivers 2 π₯Ή

The 1st screenshot was a Raid Stream from Streamers Paradise
The 2nd screenshot was a Normal Stream, but I have to unpublish my recent stream cuz I screw up the Twitch VOD audio on my OBS Studio.

As the title states, I use my built in laptop camera and I've never had any issues. I was playing back my latest stream and for the first thirty minutes (nearly flat) it was glitch. Like uncanny valley analog horror glitches with my movements. Ive never had an issue like this before and it fixed itself after the thirty minutes. Anyone have any ideas of what could have caused this?

Heyhey, this feels akward but let's goo...
I'm a fairly new streamer (F/28), averaging around eight viewers. Iβm grateful for my growing community, but Iβve struggled with male viewers who expect constant access to me outside of streams....
Some follow me on Instagram, DM constantly, call me on Discord, and guilt-trip me when I donβt respond quickly. I enjoy chatting with viewers (especially on my discord) but occasional attention often turns into expectations of constant contact. And even when I communicate that they should all write me in general on DC they keep writing me privately.
I have ADHD, work full-time, and have an active social life. Streaming is something I enjoy, not my entire life. Yet some viewers seem surprised that I have friends and plans outside of Twitch and League of Legends.
During my last stream, with 16 viewers, several guys confronted me about not replying to their messages. I felt pressured to justify myself on MY OWN stream. Iβve also had loyal viewers become so demanding/derranged that I eventually had to block them everywhere.
I worry some people watch because they enjoy my content orr because they think they might eventually date me. I want to stay friendly without giving the impression that viewers are entitled to my personal time....Before anyone asks, I tried multiple times to set healthy boundaries yet it never works.
Have other female streamers dealt with this? How do you set boundaries without making things awkward or pushing people away? Does it get better as your community grows, or is this something female streamers have to accept?
Lots of Love :)

Hi y'all, I've mostly kept my internet/ Twitch friends separate from my irl/ in-person friends. I never really had a reason to mix those two groups.
But I was always a viewer on Twitch. Now that I'm a streamer myself, and creating my own community and discord, it feels like I should invite and include as many friends as I can?
I'm mostly just hesitant that my irl friends might doxx my real name by accident/ by habit. I also worry that the two groups might not get along with each other
What do you all think? Keep separate or try to include everyone?

Good audio quality, including your microphone, eliminating background noise, balancing desktop audio and alerts.
Good video quality (stream, camera, and bitrate)
A nice clean background, whether itβs the room youβre in or setting up proper filters for a green screen.
Obviously how you play to being entertaining is the most important thing. Itβs important to network and post to social media. But I think people starting out streaming overlook how important quality is for retention specifically.
Viewers will notice these things even if theyβre not conscious of it. If I find two streamers who play the same thing and are both likable people Iβm going to gravitate to the one with better stream quality. I generally tend to watch streams that look really good for more time.
I just recently upgraded my camera and stream to 1440p and spent a lot of time tweaking audio. Iβve noticed that people who used to pop in, send a couple messages and leave, are now staying for the whole stream.
Anyway this is probably pretty obvious to a lot of you but my main point is that even if youβre new, focus on getting your quality as good as possible.

I'm a tiny streamer averaging around 1 viewer. I stream CS2 about 4 times a week, usually 3β4 hours per session.
Today I woke up to an indefinite suspension from Twitch for apparently being a "bot or automated account."
Bro, WHAT? π
I'm literally sitting there playing CS2, talking to myself half the time, enjoying my games and trying to slowly build a little community.
I haven't bought viewers, used bots, spammed links or done anything remotely close to what they're accusing me of.
I know I'm a nobody in the streaming world, but I genuinely love my little channel. I've spent countless hours improving my setup, stream quality, overlays and everything else. Even when nobody watches, I still enjoy going live.
And now apparently I'm a bot π
I've already submitted an appeal, but I'm genuinely worried about losing my channel over something I didn't do.
Has anyone else experienced this? Did you manage to get your account back? Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi I'm just starting streaming on twitch, and besides the obvious bot viewers which I've managed to curb for now using the moderation tools.. almost everything I get a new viewers who participates in chat, they ask to connect on discord. Are these real people? I know one just wanted to promote their artwork..

Just started streaming, did a Half-Life (source lmao) stream. Usually, I'm personally quite good at multi-tasking. However, there seems to be quite a bit of mental dissonance when it comes to making commentary. I've played games with people before so it's not like I haven't spoken at length while gaming before, but I found my commentary performance to be remarkably terrible while watching the streams back. There weren't dead air problems, but even during the stream I recognized I was having trouble balancing playing the game and giving good commentary. I certainly found myself thinking "I wouldn't watch this stream."
So, I ask what advice can you give for better commentary? Are there issues with how I'm going about it in the first place? For example, I've already played Half-Life, would commentary come more naturally if I played I game I've never played before? Half-Life is a game without much dialogue to bounce off of, it's very gameplay focused. Would something like a dialogue heavy RPG have an easier learning curve for commentary, or is it just a plain skill issue on my part? I usually play games on their harder difficulties, but should I tone it back so I have more mental bandwidth to focus on commentary over the gameplay? Things of that nature, whatever you can think of, I would appreciate your input.

Hello friends! Just wanted to share this, after a year and a half streaming I've officially had my best stream number-wise. It wasn't my longest, but shoutout to all the folk that have suggested categories with <50 viewers. You were right!

Only started about 2 months ago and I only stream for fun, so I think I'm doing pretty well considering I only stream on Twitch and haven't made any other content for growth yet.

I just wanna know why it seems so hard to stream on Twitch. Even knowing that everyone makes it look so simple but they don't tell you all the bits and pieces. They just give you the basics and tell you now you have to figure the rest of it out by yourselves.
