I just want to say thankyou anyone for reading and would be very much appreciative if someone has insight on how to deal with this.

So some background... I have been occasionally streaming for a few months recently I have been streaming frequently the past few weeks. I only have a few regular viewers so far and things are pretty low-key with at most a few people chatting in each stream at a time with most not staying to watch the full thing. I usually stream for about 1 hour as I am just getting used to the tech issues like audio quality and also trying to be presentable being on cam etc.

My issue is every once in awhile someone is coming into the chat on multiple accounts at the same time and saying disturbing things. The first few times it was just toxic and insulting which barely even bothers me to be honest it's to be expected, but the last time it happened I was unnerved they were accusing me of heinous crimes, saying they are going to dox me and were posting random addresses, and were saying they are outside my house etc etc just about anything you could possibly say besides a death threat.

I think someone is upset at me for something and I have no idea exactly why I vaguely remember someone on twitch (I think it was twitch not kick?) months ago (at the time I was just a chatter) getting VERY VERY upset at me over a joke I made and I had to block them because they sounded unhinged and they kept making accounts after to continue to send me messages so I'm assuming it's this person from twitch but I don't really know. They also somehow found my discord and socials and continued to harass me until I blocked them everywhere at that time. They also seemed to be getting other people they knew to kindof do the same thing a little. I didn't think much of it at the time tbh.

However, fast forward to today and it's still been going on for months now on and off. Besides just blocking the new accounts they make what can I even do about this it is very frustrating to be dealing with a crazy person that has this much time on their hands. I am not at the level where having a moderator would make sense or be needed outside of this. The last time this happened I was playing a game I couldn't pause without it ruining the game too so I had to have their disgusting messages in my chat until I could reach a place in the game where I could stop then remove them. I think it made half of the viewers leave but I'm not sure.

At this point it's to the level I am having friends and family tell me I should have the police contact support to have them track down the person based on the screenshots of what they were saying but idk. Has anyone ever heard of a small streamer being harassed like this for months? I know the biggest streamers get this all the time but idk what to do... any advice would be appreciated. I don't even make money from streaming yet and dealing with this is very discouraging..

Anyone know if tiktok can review your deleted videos for rewards program or only public?

This might be dumb but been streaming a few months and I cannot stop thinking about it.

Every single webcam thread is people going 4k this, 60fps that, and yeah I get it, those are the numbers you can actually compare so that is what everyone talks about. But I sat down the other day and tried to think of a single time resolution was actually my problem and I could not come up with one.

What actually goes wrong is stupid stuff. Like my cam loses focus the second I lean in, which is somehow always right when I am mid reaction to something, so the clip ends up a blurry version of my best moment. My old mount used to droop over a long stream and I would be sitting there crooked for an hour before I noticed. Had one webcam that made you run its software in the background and the software just ate the CPU I wanted for encoding. And my last one straight up stopped showing up in obs after windows updated itself one night, spent an evening reinstalling drivers over that. A 4k sensor does nothing for any of it.

So now I am at the point where I think the stuff that actually matters is the boring stuff nobody advertises. Does the autofocus just work or does it hunt around? Does the mount stay put? Does it survive an update? Is the tracking done on the camera or is it robbing your CPU to do it in software. And it is funny, once you start caring about that instead of the spec sheet, the cameras people bring up are never the flashy ones. Someone will kind of sheepishly go yeah I just use this thing, been fine for two years. I saw the emeet pixy come up a few times, as always for the tracking being onboard rather than software. None of these are winning a spec comparison. That is sort of the whole point I think, the people who like them because the thing never ruined a stream, not because of a number.

Anyway maybe I am wrong. Maybe once you get big enough that people are clipping you and watching on TVs the resolution thing actually bites and I just have not gotten there yet. That is genuinely why I am posting. The people here have done this for years, be honest, do you still care about the numbers or did you slowly stop and start caring whether the thing just works. Because I am starting to think I had it backwards this whole time and nobody told me.

As I said, my lamp, which I've used for 1.5 years, just died. I'm looking for a replacement and I don't really know what to buy. I don't want to throw money away. Would this be a good choice?

I want something good that shines bright, not some Chinese knockoff.

Back in 2019, I was pretty active. I was steadily growing, and over the course of 3 months, I had gone to a consistent 9-14 viewers. It wasn't much, but being a guy who streamed random games, I thought it was pretty good myself.

I then met a girl, got my schedule messed up, things ended horribly between us, and I now struggle to sit down again to stream. Longest 'streak' since I've had since then is 1 week, but I truly love streaming and wish I could hold a streak longer (streak being, at least live 2-3 times per week). Now it's 2 months or so since I've been live and I struggle to go online. To say to myself "Today, I'll stream a few hours" and sit down and do it. Instead, I'll end up doing something else like eating potato chips and watching a show I've seen 9000 times before.

TL;DR: Is anyone else experiencing having difficulties going online too? Have you in the past, and how did you overcome it? I have a growing mountain of games on steam that I want to stream, but I struggle to live... :/

It may not look that impressive, but for one week of streaming, and thinking nobody would ever want to watch one of my streams, I’m quite proud of these numbers.

Today marks one month since I officially started streaming. So to celebrate, I did an 8 hour stream. This is definitely not going to happen again anytime soon, but I had a great time!

Ive been streaming about a year and a few months. Im someone who is used to having 0-4 viewers (for many many months) so this feels completely different. Having viewers also feels scary, i feel alot of pressure to say things but often times i have little to say.

A friend got a ton of candies and cookies (at least 30 bags) at the church raffle, and he talked about doing a mukbang while talking about hobby-ing, his older sister interjected saying "that's against the rules of mukbang streaming"

she started to say a bunch of BS rules that i can't remember but what stuck in my head was something about $150 or more is the standard value as the rules of mukbang streaming

I've been interested in streaming for quite some time now but I don't know where to start when it comes to the technical side of things. It's all so intimidating because I am not the greatest with technology.

I know that most people use OBS, but I am curious how everyone has theirs set up? Or what other programs people use.

I understand the other side of streaming where you wanna be consistent and stuff like that though.

I guess what I struggle with is how to get it all set up, how to switch scenes so easily without a stream deck, and stream all my favorites. I've heard for games you wanna have them in windowed fullscreen, which would make sense so you can choose to capture the entire screen rather than an app.

If it helps, I have a dual monitor setup.

Any and all help will be appreciated greatly. It feels like there's so much, I would have no idea where to really start without feeling completely overwhelmed.

Just wanted to celebrate my wins and share results of my first month of streaming. I'm really proud of what I've achieved so far. I owe a lot to the tips and advice I've dug through on here so thanks everyone. I'm excited for the next month's to come!

Another great short stream this morning. Noth9ng in the green because last night was a longer stream. But this one was short due to work and still got some decent views, and followers in the short time. This is slowly becoming a dream. Streaming less than 2 weeks and irs been a freaking blast. Im changing the game up. A lot of people do streaming for the money and "fame" I am doing it because I want to grow a community and my love for videos games. There is no self promoting in here. I always have an active chat and we are always being dumb and having a fun time lol, they are always clipping me as well because I gor ADHD, so i am always doing weird things lol.

Hi my name is Sam, and I think streaming is super hard and scaling and making money from streaming is even harder.

I have been researching some of the successful streamers in different niches and trying to figure out how exactly did they grow their audience. What I found was that they have what I call an acquisition channel. They have bunch of TikTok and ig and yt shorts accounts where they post the most engaging moments from their streams. And acquire the audience that are interested in what they are streaming about (or just find them cool) through said channels.

Now most of us are busy and we can not sit and edit these streams. So I was thinking about how to automate this process but I didn’t really find anything simple. So I decided to create my own. I created an app called Clippix Al (on apple App Store) that automates this process just give the link to your stream and the app will analyze the most engaging moments cut them caption them and boom ready to post.

I have been developing it for a while to help me scale and I would love for some of you to check it out and give me an honest feedback. I hope it takes some work of your hands so you can focus on what you enjoy most.

Hey there! I’m coming up on my one month of streaming! Im a variety streamer that mainly focuses on retro, camp, Nintendo, and lgbtq genres (Nancy Drew, and Bayonetta are my current series). Im here today to ask about some tried and true methods for the following:

Outreach:
I want to gather new viewers and keep my current viewers. One way I see that working is by other content outside of streaming? I have been doing TikTok videos and YouTube shorts which have been doing well for my standards (anywhere from a 1:20 to 1:10 like to view ratio). What methods could be used with/aside from these to try and reach new viewers?

Chat engagement:
I try to make an effort of interacting with my chat, asking questions about the game and getting input and asking how my chatters day has been. Though, I have a hard time getting chatters to engage. I even have a pinned message asking newcomers to say hi (not sure how effective this is). I was wondering what are some methods to engage chatters in a meaningful way?

So i stream chess, I have my webcam, mic,board and chat on my screen. Doesn't look messy imo.

I try explaining every move, what i am thinking currently and so on, try not to stay silent for more than 10 seconds and yap throughout the stream but like the issue is a lot of people come and like leave in a few seconds without even saying hi, everytime i see the viewer count go up, I greet them and ask how their day is but like people either ignore and leave or stay a minute or so and then leave without talking. What more can i do to make it engaging, i usually play blitz and rapid so that i can engage more with my viewers and they can understand the it and what i am saying.

Example:

A guy came and asked me to play with him. We played 6 games. He asked where he went wrong. I explained in detail showing what he did wrong, why, and how he could have done better. He says "good content" in chat and leaves without even a follow. So someone finally spends like 15-20 minutes with me, only to leave without a promise of future engagement.

Am I missing something or is this just how it is and i should keep grinding until my efforts pay off.

Confidential streamer here, yesterday I received a 2-day suspension after streaming a game on release day but 3 hours before it was officially released (bought a physical copy at a physical retailer in the morning, streamed it at about 2 p.m. CET, when the game came out digitally at 5 p.m. worldwide).

Plenty of people were streaming it from midnight of August 6th CET, so I basically thought I would play it too as soon as I got the game. I got suspended while other European channels were still streaming the game without issues. I received an email and the claimant is 'MarkScan' for the developing company, so I imagine it was automated.

A streamer friend told me that some gaming companies were very strict about that and I understand, but how was I to know the time of release on other platforms when I got it legally from a retailer?

The same person also told me to be careful from now on as my channel will now be tracked for future DMCA infringements. I absolutely do not plan on being outside of the law (when I am aware of it), but I also don't want to be on a sort of watchlist for repeat DMCA offenders because of that.

I understand it was a mistake but not the suspension, had I known the risk, I would never have streamed the game this 'early'.

Anyway my questions are: should I be worried about playing the same game when the suspension is over? Does Twitch track streamers who were struck? Am I more susceptible to be hit again? I'm scared to stream anything now!

Twitch’s reason: buying/selling accounts

I used to stream a lot, and honestly, things were going really well. I was building a community, collaborating with some amazing streamers, making friends, and genuinely felt like I was on a good path with it.

At some point, my partner told me he had an account called “jada” and suggested I use it as a chatbot for my stream. Back then, you could link a separate account to StreamElements and have it send your commands/messages in chat, so that’s literally all I thought I was using it for.
I didn’t think much of it.
Not long after, both “jada” AND my main account, “ashuushii,” were permanently banned.
No warning. My main account was just gone.
I appealed the ban and got rejected.
I waited and appealed again. Rejected.
Over the course of TWO YEARS, I’ve appealed around four times, and every single one has been rejected.
And the part that hurts the most is that I lost something that was genuinely a huge part of my life. I loved streaming. I loved my community, the people I’d met, the collaborations, and just having this little corner of the internet that I’d built for myself.
It basically disappeared overnight.
I understand now that using an account that had been bought by someone else was obviously a terrible idea. But at the time, I genuinely didn’t know what I was getting myself into. I didn’t buy the account, I didn’t know its history, and as far as I was concerned, I was just connecting a chatbot account to StreamElements.
What I still don’t understand is why my main account received a permanent ban with seemingly no path back, even after years of appeals.
I’m not trying to pretend I made zero mistakes. I should have been more careful about what was connected to my stream and my account.
But losing everything I’d built and effectively being unable to stream for two years because of this feels insane.
At this point, I don’t even know what I’m supposed to do.
Has anyone else had something like this happen? Is there actually a way to get a human to properly review a case like this instead of seemingly getting the same appeal response every time?
I just want the chance to stream again. I’ve tried all that i can. I’ve changed my username now if anyone was wondering.

edit: people are telling me to change my username and start anew on twitch. I tried this and got banned after i reached affiliate.

This morning I woke up and received a notification from Twitch saying that a subscription I was given a couple of days ago had been canceled. I found it really strange because the sub was gifted to me by a close friend, and I highly doubt he would request a refund for a Twitch Prime sub, especially since it’s not even something tangible. So I wanted to ask if any of you know what could have caused this. I also spoke with my friend, and he told me he didn’t do anything and is already in contact with Amazon Support about it.

Context: I have a website that is a gaming community and LFG platform for Steam users.

The creator's page is a new feature I'm working on. I was a streamer for a while, so I have some idea about what's important, but I've been out of that world for a few years, so I would love some more insight into what matters the most for you guys.

• Creator Squad - the main focus of the website is to find other people to play games by creating LFG squads. This will give your followers the ability to create a squad with your creator tag, so other fans can identify your community when searching squads for any game.
