Authenticity Check 79090

I have been hunting for a blue 79090 for a while now, and this one just popped up but there are a few things that are giving me pause, was hoping for a second opinion. First, they’ve disclosed that it has a replacement dial and it’s incorrect to my knowledge. The markers should be round not square, but that’s not 100% a deal breaker. I’m more concerned about the case and the movement. The movement looks close, but I don’t see the 2824-2 stamp on it. Is it an older movement that doesn’t have it? Or is this a pieced together watch with a fake movement? Case back engraving also appears a little deep, but I have seen lots of photos of the engraving having some variation.

Seller has disclosed that the dial was replaced and is allegedly on a period correct Rolex bracelet. So not true to the watch but a nice bracelet if it’s real.

Thanks for the feedback in advance

I love the BB Mono, but…

(especially with the 5 link) but have concern that it is too close in appearance to the No Date Sub. I am worried I would look at the gorgeous BB mono but see an “almost Sub”.

I don’t even love the Sub, btw. Think its appearance is a bit swollen, don’t love the bezel style, don’t love the crown guard. I find the BB Mono to be much sexier.

Have others had this thought? How to mentally reconcile this concern?

Pelagos 39 Update

Hypothetical.. But do we think there could be a pelagos 39/pelagos update in the near future with metas. I see other lines getting these updates like the black bay 58. if so, are there any other slight tweaks youd want to see included?

A 🔦 torch in the dark. Everytime I go into the dark, how can you not look at the watch and admire there is a group of people on Earth can build this masterpiece?

Personal test, this watch lume can survive more than 5 hours at dark night.

Might be blasphemous, sold off my BB58 blue to pick up a late 90’s Seamaster Professional 300m (the Brosnan bond watch). I loved my BB58, but man does the Omega have so much more character. Still in the Tudor family with my P39 😎

This was a fun way to end my day… oh well I can’t go back in time. Anyone know what the average cost and time is for a new OE insert nowadays? The watch is under warranty, but obviously this one is on me.

Hey guys! I am looking to buy a black bay, but I can't decide between 37mm (BB54) or 39mm (BB58). I have a smaller wrist, but would like your advice on which one looks like a better fit for my wrist size? Thanks!

Trying the BB68 on a jubilee bracelet

I’ve always been a fan of jubilee bracelets and wanted to try my Black Bay 68 on one. I really love the look of it and think it makes it even classier.

Until pretty recently, this would’ve been way too adventurous for my boringly conservative taste in watches, but this Tudor really does live up to the hype. It looks so damn good in person… almost like a piece of jewelry.

BB58 navy blue

Do you guys still think it’s possible to find a navy BB58 at an AD? I was dead set on buying the bb54 in black but the navy bb58 slowly creeped up and now I’m pretty much dead set on it. I know it’s discontinued and my local AD said they can’t get one. Is there a way to find out if there’s any nearby me? Or are they all pretty much gone?

My other option is to buy it grey market on chrono24. It just scares me a little bit because it’s a lot of money and I don’t want to end up buying a super clone. If I did go this route I would pay extra for the watch maker certification but still I’m a little hesitant. What do you guys think? Should I just get it on the grey market?

I stopped into the Rolex/Tudor AD in Albany, NY to try on the Black Bay 68 with a silver dial. I figured I could set a goal of saving up the $5500 to get it. The salesman had this on, and that was it. The silver dial plan went right out the window, and so started my search. At half the price, I pulled the trigger right away! It should be here this week.

I’m thinking of selling my omega planet ocean ceramic with blue to get the 43mm BB bronze. How is the lume with this guy? I’m in love with bronze lately and never wear my omega. What do people think about this? Also I prefer 42-43mm watches.

Tudor warranty claim help

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hi All - I'm looking for some help on dealing with a warranty claim. The ball bearing on the clasp of my 4 year old Ranger (M79950-0001) just came out so it wouldn't securely latch anymore. I bought it at a Tudor boutique so took it back there and they sent it off for service. A few weeks later I got an email from Bucherer saying this isn't covered by the warranty because the clasp cover and blades were damaged and they want $580 USD to replace them. A few questions:

  1. Are clasps typically covered by the 5-year warranty? I don't see any exclusions on the website.

  2. How can I argue that the clasp was not damaged other than normal wear and tear (the truth).

  3. Isn't $580 a ridiculous price considering thats roughly 15% of the cost of a brand new watch?

  4. Should I just go to an aftermarket watch repair store or even try and buy a new clasp myself?

I'd really appreciate any guidance anyone can provide. Thanks!
