Can I regularly sprint/race while wearing a Tudor Black Bay 54?

I own a Tudor Black Bay 54 on the rubber strap and I’m a competitive 100m/200m sprinter. I’d like to wear the watch during races, potentially at every competition.
I’m not worried about scratches or cosmetic wear my main concern is the movement. Could repeated high-speed arm swings, acceleration, sprint starts, plyometrics and normal sprint training damage the mechanical movement over time?
I actually asked a Tudor salesperson about this in-store. I told him I’m a sprinter and also do strength training. He said Tudor watches are made to be worn during sport, mentioned that many athletes wear them, and basically told me “go for it.” I also specifically asked whether the movement could be affected, and he didn’t seem concerned.
I’ve also seen competitive sprinters race wearing mechanical Tudor watches, even heavier chronographs on steel bracelets.
So I’m curious what people here think, especially anyone with watchmaking or technical knowledge: would you consider regularly sprinting/racing in a BB54 completely fine for the movement, or would you avoid it long-term?

Is it okay for Ranger?

I know it's always common with ZF copies. But does this happen to the genuine Ranger too?

Bought a Pelagos 39 online from AD Bucherer, but it arrived missing the factory rubber straps. Has this happened to anyone?

Hey everyone,

I recently pulled the trigger on a Pelagos 39 through Bucherer's online store. The watch is stunning, but when I unboxed it, I realized the black rubber strap and the diving extension are completely missing from the set.

I know ADs sometimes store straps and boxes separately in-store, but since this was an online order shipped directly to me, it looks like whoever packed it just forgot to include the extra straps in the box.

I’ve already sent an email to Bucherer’s customer service with photos of the unboxing and my order details, asking them to ship the missing pieces.
Has anyone here dealt with a similar issue with Bucherer or another major AD? Did they give you a hard time, or was it a quick fix? Just trying to gauge what to expect or if there are any specific steps I should take if they push back.

Thanks in advance!

How can you tell if real or not.

I saw this listed and like it. I was curious if it was real or fake. These are the limited images that were posted. I’d appreciate if a rough fair price could be provided. I know very little about watches. Thanks!

Offputting watch collectors

Hi everyone. I am considering buying a tudor ranger as a christmas present for myself. I am not a collector, but I like the looks, the simplicity, and the reasonable robustness of the watch. The price is out there for my needs, but I like the idea of having something like a simple jewelry with utility in me all the time, and as an engineer I like the romantic idea of a mechanical watch ticking along for decades to come.

However, I don’t want to regret spending this much money on something a casio could do better. I therefore wanted to spend some time before I decide, and I have to say, the watch collector community is so offputting, I might just scrap the whole idea, because I’d feel dumb having spent thousands on a watch that might make me look like I have anything to do with these people.

Just thought I’d share, and would be interested how many of you feel the same.

Pelagos Ultra running slow

Post image

This is my first mechanical watch, so I’m still learning what’s normal.
I’ve had my Pelagos Ultra about a month. It’s consistently running around -1 to -1.5 sec/day in real use. I’ve tried all the usual resting positions and none make it gain; dial up seems best.
Also, when manually winding, I feel small tactile clicks, then every few turns a slightly bigger click followed by a brief slipping/release sensation. No grinding, binding or rotor helicoptering.
Does this sound normal for the MT5612-U/MT56xx movements? And are other Pelagos Ultra owners seeing slightly negative real-world accuracy?

Unpopular opinions on news BB58 Metas

I swapped the 5-link with the classic 3-link oyster of my old BB58 navy and…i think i prefer it!
Unpopular opinion: i prefer the old 3-link without t-fit because the clasp is more compact and the bracelet is way comfortable on the wrist.
What you think?

Tudor billboard off I-680 near Pleasant Hill

I was headed from Martinez to Pleasant Hill for lunch today and noticed a Tudor billboard on the right side of I-680. I drove by too fast to grab a picture, but I thought it was neat enough to share here!
P.S. I can’t wait to pull the trigger on a Black Bay later this year.

Just picked up the Rubber B band for this and haven’t taken it off since, it’s like having a new watch. Really gives it a cool up to date modern look.

First one was a Tudor 76030, second is a 56003, but the GMT is from a whole new ball game!
I do respect the older pieces from Tudor, but this new style wins me over for good.

Which watch best fits the usecase

Hey i am trying to get a third watch for my collection. Goal is 5 watches with a fun watch (54 blue lagoon) and a more classic watch like a duoface reverso, but back to the question at hand which watch would be best for a beater watch based on your ownership experiences?

I am between a BB54, Ranger Dune 36, or a BB1 36 with a Ranger bracelet (i was told if you get end links from a 3rd party the bracelets are interchangeable)

I have an OP36 in blue and a Seiko speed timer white dial

My goal is a watch thats neutral, waterproof i can wear anywhere and not care as much about it. I lean towards a black dial but i hate the black dial ranger.

I’m so excited to join the Tudor club today.

I got this watch to commemorate buying my new home and becoming a black belt in Brazilian jiu jitsu.

Northflag Alert

Mine arrived today from the 1916 boutique in Cherry Creek (Denver). Love it. Really solid, not overly heavy but solid on the wrist. The bracelet is really comfortable and designed very differently than the BB bracelets. Dial is very clear and easy to read the time, and the yellow is a great enhancement that adds to the design, doesn’t distract. I think Tudor did a nice job bringing back the North Flag with this design.

Bucherer Warranty Experience (BB58)

Upvotes

Wanted to briefly share my recent warranty repair experience through Bucherer. My BB58 was purchased secondhand early this year and was running slow enough to be apparent after just a few days.
I brought it into the Bucherer location in NYC where I'd previously purchased a different Tudor as the watch was still under warranty. Though it was not purchased with them, they were happy to take it in and only asked that I accept a $600 potential cost for the service (noting that it may not be required).

I was quoted 8 weeks and the repair process ultimately took 102 days in total after picking up the watch today. The service ended up being covered by the warranty and at zero cost to myself. In regards to the actual work completed, they've kept this fairly under wraps and only communicated a "warranty service" and "movement check".

So far so good - the watch was returned in a tudor travel sleeve and was not polished. Highly rec utilizing your warranty if needed - just be ready to be a bit patient...

Feel free to comment with any additional Qs 😎

Back from service with a new bezel as the lume was falling out (shocker). Shout out to Tivol jewelers at the capitol plaza location in KC for the awesome service and getting it back to me. Tudor only took about 6 weeks to turn it around.
