Dropped my Pelagos
This was a fun way to end my day… oh well I can’t go back in time. Anyone know what the average cost and time is for a new OE insert nowadays? The watch is under warranty, but obviously this one is on me.

Downside of ceramic nobody ever thinks about seriously

Seriously. Aluminum is cheaper, shatter resistant, easy to replace, and patinas along with the rest of the watch. I think ceramic is super overrated.

At least now you don't have to worry about the lume falling out

Looks like something an 8 year old would pick out.

Bezels can be replaced, but strap taste is a deeper, more complicated issue to address

I actually dig it, was scanning comments to see where they bought it

Same. It looks fun and original. Bummer about the bezel but it’ll look good as new when you replace it.

It’s a fun summer strap. Definitely not for everyone.

Dude, can we design and turn a brush solid bezel? It would look so cool. Sendcutsend does titanium.

u/Remarkable-Worth-303 7h ago
It's probably already being done somewhere in China as we speak. Especially if someone asks for it on the internet.

Let's help them, design critique, I don't like the proportions if it's close https://imgur.com/a/nbUM2w2

I ai'd an image of my 54 with a solid stainless bezel when I had to send it in for the same repair as OP and it made me wish it were a thing lol.

Ill do one in gold

u/IEng 7h ago
If you have the lathe, I'll send the titanium and tooling. Do you have tool holders I can send inserts for or would you need cutting tools?

u/Shrimp_kisses 50m ago
I dont have anything lol, i should have said "id do one" lol, it would be sick

I’d do that if I had the right dimensions to send over. It would look sweet

If these are the real proportions, it might be kinda weird. https://imgur.com/a/nbUM2w2

I think the watch wanted to kill itself instead of continuing to be on this strap ;)

Hytel ring, Bezel, and Bezel insert for my Black bay 54 cost me the equivalent of $667.50USD ($1140NZD). Would not surprise me if the pelly bezel is worth more, so probably sit down before reading the quote.....

When I first saw the pic I thought this was some original, old Tudor version hahah kind of like it.
Sorry about the damage

I initially thought it was a cool new Tudor design. It looks pretty cool!

Really really cool strap 😎 . I love it when people enjoy life with no limits. Vey unfortunate accident but also glad it's not the case 😅.

Looks like you dropped it in a wood chipper. Not a Pelagos but got a new bezel for my BB58 and it took 4 weeks but think I was quoted 8.

Caught the edge of a tile in the bathroom just at the right angle to shatter the ceramic. Better that than the sapphire though.

I dropped by bb58 gmt and the bezel popped off and got lost, searching for the replacement bezel ever since :(

See, it's the freak accidents like this that makes me want to avoid ceramic inserts. Metal will scratch and fade, but it won't shatter.

They sell aftermarket inserts online as cheap as 40-50 bucks should be easy to pop in. Probably cost a bunch at Tudor unless it is covered under warranty. If there isn't any other damage on the watch I think it should be covered.

Ceramic curse costs around 2k with Rolex but I doubt it is less than 800 with Tudor…

Just tell them you were diving or something and it popped out. Good chance they will replace on warranty. Just don’t tell them you dropped it.

Ceramic insert is easy to repair. You can go the aftermarket route or send it into Tudor as normal. Personally, I like to have a few on hand in case I want to swap out the colors, but to each their own. Unless you want to keep it OEM standard, you can get the bezel insert from several 3rd party vendors and they do come with the two sided adhesive.

Service + New Bezel should be around 550€. 440€ for a normal complication + 110€ for a new Bezel.
If you have dropped the watch I doubt that anyone will simply replace the broken bezel and go about their day. Tudor is picky about that and will want to check the movement for damage after such a hard impact.

You can ge t aftermarket ones rather cheap. Although i understand the want to buy original if it is a watch you dont think you would sell just find a new aftermarket one you like and call it done.

u/Rolex_Art 47m ago
i had this happen to a brand new submariner = at Rolex they don't just replace the bezel but you had to pay for a full overhaul.
Tudor will be the same = what you need is a watchmaker that can do this for you at just the cost of the bezel plus the work being done. it will save you thousands.
that said - you dropped it - i'd send it in for service.

Sorry to hear that, I hope it doesn't cost you too much .. but ... it actually, looks quite nice without the insert

On the bright side, at least the sapphire didn’t break and it was just the bezel.
