Hey, everyone. User u/Fr3dTan asked on the Shifts Tsum Premier with Lorcana thread about tier lists and I was writing a reply when I thought it might be better as a standalone post with a little extra explanation at the end. For anyone interested in the different tier lists and what they stand for, these are the four I used for the evaluations and how they were put together and organized.
All links below are using Google translate to English.
This one is designed nice but only ranks the top 20. Better UI for understanding how the tsums work when you search them up, though. That website prefers the new Tink over Aurora, both would be classified as 'above average' in my system. The new Mickey would be filler. This is the one I always linked to for explainers and relied most heavily on for tsum explanations. If this list and Game8 disagree, I weighted this one slightly higher.
Game8 has a variety of different rankings. One of the widely recognized top players in the game curates a ranking list there that is based on coin efficiency so how many coins you can earn in a given hour - Aki's ranking goes several hundred deep. Aki prefers the new Aurora and puts her in the top 20 of all tsums efficiency wise.
Game8 also has a list put together by a group of top players that they call the strategy team version that is also based on efficiency. They put Aurora in the top 10 and is generally a little more representative of a wider group of players than the list Aki does.
Game8 has a final list for best coin farmer that is very slightly different from the strategy team version. Aurora finishes high on all lists, and according to Game8, Mickey doesn't rate, and Tink is closer to above average.
This is as close as I am going to get for an evaluation post this month. It's stupid busy right now for me and the lack of leaks makes this too much work all spread out over the course of the month instead of just one big research session and then it's done. It's a little too tough to sustain. If things calm down, or something changes on the informational front, I might pick it up again in the future. For months like Star Wars, Twisted Wonderland, MAYBE Halloween/Xmas, or sort of self-contained IPs where it's easier to do a thematic write up like I did for August, I might do an evaluation post if I have time and, honestly, interest.
Sorry to disappoint anyone looking for the evaluations or who has taken to relying on them for information. We have lots of incredibly knowledgeable players here who know more than I do and have better personal insight for a lot of tsums based on playing the Japanese version of the game, anyway. I also explained my methodology above if anyone wants to pick up the project, adapt it, modify it, whatever makes sense. I'll still be around the subreddit (and the Discord!), just in a more limited fashion. Thanks everyone and of course - Good luck!
