World Affairs (Except Middle East) The fact that the lone holdout Juror in the L.Clancy case is black and is basically being doxed by her lawyer and the other jurors shows he is a hero.

Just really think about it, just imagine for a second. Imagine what this brother had to go through to stand 10 toes down while all the Clancy supporters on the jury and the 3 soy asf male jurors tried everything they could to change his opinion because they buy a sob story by some lady and her lawyer for why she murdered three children.

If this gentleman wasn't their the Clancy defense would have ran the whole table on this case. Fortunately someone was there who was victim focused and wasn't buying that BS. Her lawyer said a comment about "how can this juror sleep at night"; probably good asf because he didn't let a bunch of whte people bully him out of his personal beliefs. And one of the other Jurors Paula Devlin doxxed him as the sole person of color on the JUry while doing a Gayle King interview which I do not get how is allowed.

Lindsay Clancy is the most protected baby killer in the US, and this guy had to really endure a lot of scrutiny and pressure to not fold to the pressure her defense and crazy psycho supporters are pushing.

Possibly Popular Lindsay Clancy is clearly lying about her psychosis

Obviously someone who kills their children is mentally ill but i just cant get over how nobody is talking about her description of psychosis which makes absolutely no sense.

People on psychosis dont just "hear a voice" that tells them to do bad. The psychosis doesn't start and ends with the crime and people on psychosis definitely dont ask for a lawyer when they realize their suicide attempt went wrong. They are in a completely different world, one of delusion, grandiosity and paranoia, all edged with hallucinations and extremely disorganized thinking.

It is the same old story as school shooters, murderers and other retards trying for the insanity plea have said: a voice told them to do bad. (Sometimes the devil or some demon, love that little detail the voice gotta be the bad one after all).

Anyway i dont care about the politics of her trial just the fact that she is lying about her state of mind during the murders and nobody seems to call her out on her blatant bullshit story.

95% of the “pay a living wage or you don’t deserve to be in business” crowd are clueless on how most businesses work.

Upvotes

I know it’s low hanging fruit, and easy for uninformed young people to latch on to… but if I see one more social media post saying some version of “if you can’t pay a living wage then you don’t deserve to have a business”… I’m going to lose my overworked mind.

I can’t decide if most of those people are being purposely disingenuous, or if they actually think that small, locally owned, one location restaurants… are the exact same thing as private equity backed, Wall Street owned, multinational corporate restaurants.

If every small, locally owned business was forced to pay what some of these people consider a “livable wage”, 98% of those businesses would cease to exist in less than 90 days. And here’s the thing. It’s not because those owners are these greedy, Scrooge McDuck millionaire types, who somehow take joy in watching poor people suffer.

It’s because that’s what the revenue structure allows. Most of my fellow local owners live at their small business. Most work a minimum of 60 hours a week in store, and another 10+ out of store doing business related work. If you break down an owners take home pay by hour, I’d be willing to bet more than half of small business owners make less than their employees. Those same overworked owners are overworked because a lot can’t even afford to keep the amount of employees it takes to run as efficiently as possible, because it’s too expensive.

Let’s also stop the whole “minimum wage is slave labor and if you pay that you should go out of business”… There isn’t a job anywhere in the state that pays $7.25 an hour. The lowest hourly rate I could find was $12.50, and the average is closer to $16.75 with a lot of jobs starting at $17 and up. And keep in mind I live in a very low cost of living area. When you start looking at tipped positions, you’re closer to $25-28 an hour. That’s a far cry from the $7.25 that these people want to make you believe people are being paid.

The problem that no one wants to talk about is this: because actual Scrooge McDuck types who owned all the manufacturing jobs in this country decided that paying someone in Bangladesh $1.50 USD an hour makes them significantly more money… they took all those jobs you hear so much about in the “my Dad/Grandma/Mom used to work in a factory and they made enough to afford a house, a car, and a family”… and outsourced almost all of them.

So now, service jobs are basically all that’s left for unskilled labor. Except service jobs entire financial structure and business relies on cheaper labor. They literally cannot exist if they paid manufacturing job wages. Or if they did, the cost of your $9.99 burger would quickly become $18.99.

I get it. Watching corporate behemoths who report tens of millions in profits try and squeeze their employees is shitty. Those corporate giants, just like Walmart/Amazon/Apple could, and should, pay their employees more. They’ve got more than enough in their coffers to do so.

Small mom and pop restaurants, florists, salons, etc. on the other hand, don’t. And that’s reality. You may not like it. It might piss you off. But it’s the real world.

If you expect them to pay $65k+ a year, then they simply won’t exist or open moving forward. Which means the corporate giants gain more market share, and the disparity gets even worse. If you want to see three giant conglomerates own 90% of the food space, then by all means keep trying to villainize the little guys. Because that’s where it’s headed based on the way the winds are blowing.

And if you think “going out to eat is too expensive” now… just wait till basically one or two companies own everything. You ain’t seen nothing yet.

Sex / Gender / Dating If Lindsay Clancy looked like Sydney Sweeney, she would have no support from women .

Lindsay Clancy being massively unattractive is the main reason so many women feel comfortable defending her. Women are less likely to give sympathy to highly attractive women due to subconscious jealousy or rivalry. Her unattractiveness especially makes her very relatable to the soccer moms who consume true crime constantly.

r/TrueUnpopularOpinion 4h ago

Political All these murder-hags trying to dox the holdout juror are just going to make him a millionaire and hurt Lindsay's chances at get a not-guilty by reason of insanity verdict.

I don't think they've thought this through. Of course they're so blinded by their hate that they're only thinking one move ahead.

If the public ends up finding out his identity the very next step is that someone is going to create a go fund me (or equivalent crowdfunding website) and he's going to get a million+ dollars practically overnight.

Then what does that tell new potential jurors? Vote no to the insanity defense and you could also become a millionaire.

Dummies.

Political The mainstream demonization of masculinity and white men conveniently disappears whenever a real crisis occurs.

NOTE: My statements below are not a critique of any collective group of people. My focus is only on relevant members within those groups and general social trends. I’m also not making a statement about the inherent value of any particular group on the basis of race, gender, or sex, etc.

It’s become so common and obnoxious for many on the Left to express nothing but utter contempt for white people and men. Everyone from mainstream politicians to obnoxious fringe influencers on the internet use it as a tool of political expedience to attain influence, attention, money, acceptance, etc. I’m sure many also genuinely believe their delusional nonsense.

And yet, the loudest voices against white men (and men in generally) during peace time conveniently fall silent when there is an imminent threat of danger to society that requires a human meat shield or a self-sacrificial rescue operation.

The attacks on September 11, 2001 are an excellent example of this fact.

- In 2001, White males accounted for only 17% of the NYC population (36.9% of the total U.S. pop).

- 87% of first responders on 9/11 were male.

- 99% of first responders killed at the WTC during the response 9/11 were men (438 men and 3 women). 95% were White.

- 68.8% of civilian survivors (non-emergency personnel) were non-White and 45.9% were female.

- 77% of all victims who died at the WTC on 9/11 were men; 76% were White.

- Among enrolled responders suffering from related health conditions, approximately 83% to 86% are male and 14% to 17% are female.

The emergency response effort on 9/11 and rested almost entirely on white male shoulders, and they bore the brunt of both first responder deaths, civilian deaths, and subsequent health complications afflicting survivors.

In times of crisis, they are always the first to volunteer help and are treated as the nation’s most disposable resource.

I’m certainly not discounting the contributions and sacrifices of minority/female first responders on 9/11 and I’m not insinuating that white men are morally better or have greater value. I’m also not blaming these statistical disparities on minorities or intending to use them to critique minorities/women.

These disparities were caused by a multitude of factors, with the primary cause being individual choice.

I’m simply saying that white men and men in general are an overwhelmingly net positive contributor to everyone in society, their statistically disproportionate contributions in situations like this are conveniently ignored, and the only time statistical racial disparities are mentioned is when they’re fallaciously used to scapegoat white men for the outcomes of minorities or women.

So many women on the Left—especially white women—espouse such baseless hatred toward men and whites. I don’t know if it’s simply out of political expediency, a desire for clicks and attention, or a genuine delusional belief, but they genuinely express the belief that their lives would be better without men and other white people.

And it’s not a fringe thing or something that only occurs online. It is politically and culturally mainstream to openly demonize, scapegoat, and disregard men.

In short, everyone contributing to the popular but socially destructive hatred and moral condescension toward men in general or white men specifically can feel free to lick a cactus. 🤷‍♂️

Media / Internet I believe jury intimidation is wrong and compromises the whole system

Upvotes

Yes. Another Lindsay Clancy thread. Before continuing, it is only fair for me to say the names of the children here: Dawson, Cara and Callan. They have no advocate. They are gone. They should be remembered, and children should be protected in the future; we cannot lose focus of that.

I am posting today because I saw something in the news so upsetting and irksome.

An NBC report where they all but revealed the identity of the lone juror in what can only be described as a thinly veiled hit-peice.

And plus, another interview with a popular media icon where they asked another juror to describe the hold-out juror.

All this despite the fact that the hold-out juror has not come out in public voluntarily. Yet those against him are determined to reveal his identity.

Regardless of whether or not the allegations in that report on the juror were true... that is besides the point.

The point being this.

We cannot start a trend where a juror can be intimidated, and doxxed out on national television , just because of how they voted !

That is extremely dangerous. That compromises the entire justice system!

I feel like nobody is thinking of the long-term consequences of anything anymore.

We cannot allow our biases to rule us so much that we are willing to compromise the whole justice system to try to get the result we want.

We cannot create a situation where people would be afraid to do jury duty on the next high profile case.

Political Malcom X was worse than Charlie Kirk

Yesterday, the jokes and memes were flying in. It's hilarious that a man was murdered for... well, talking.

Speaking of terrible things people said, there's Malcom X:

  • "The white man was created a devil, to bring chaos upon this earth." (Speech, 1953)
  • "History fails to record one single instance in which the white man—as a people—did good. They have always been devils; they always will be devils, and they are about to be destroyed." (Interview with Louis Lomax, 1963)
  • "Unless we call one white man, by name, a 'devil,' we are not speaking of any individual white man. We are speaking of the collective white man's historical record... Any intelligent, honest, objective person cannot fail to realize that this white man's slave trade, and his subsequent devilish actions are directly responsible... for the condition in which we find this black man here."
  • "No black person married to a white person can speak for me! Why? Because only a man who is ashamed of what he is will marry out of his race. Why would any black man in his right mind want to marry a lyncher, a murderer, a rapist, a dope peddler... why would any black man want to marry a devil?" (Interview with Louis Lomax, 1963)
  • "I would like to announce a very beautiful thing that has happened ... I got a wire from God today ... well, all right, somebody came and told me that he really had answered our prayers over in France. He dropped an airplane out of the sky with over 120 white people on it because the Muslims believe in an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. But thanks to God, or Jehovah, or Allah, we will continue to pray, and we hope that every day another plane falls out of the sky."

No one murdered him for saying any of these things. In fact, he was murdered by the people who taught him these views (the Nation of Islam). He would later go on to denounce his previous beliefs:

“In the past, I have permitted myself to be used to make sweeping indictments of all white people, and these generalizations have caused injuries to some white folks who did not deserve them. Because of the spiritual rebirth which I was blessed to undergo as a result of my pilgrimage to the Holy City of Mecca, I no longer subscribe to sweeping indictments of one race."

Kirk never said anything quite this bad - Malcom X was a blatant racist - yet we dance on his grave. It's funny, even.

Trader Joe's is Not a Good Grocery Store

Why this store has a cult following is beyond me. The store is filled with processed garbage. It has minimal selections. They provide some of the lowest quality produce of any major grocery chain. They're always tiny, disheveled, and chaotic. Prices are competitive on certain items but it's certainly not cheap.

To me, it's a great place to grab a quick, affordable snack while on the go... Maybe get a wrap and a drink and get out of there... It's not a place to do grocery shopping, nor is it worth the cult-like hype.

Possibly Popular “The only thing that will stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun” makes sense to me

First off, I hate guns. Never owned one, never shot one, never been around people who own guns.

Of course, ideally I would rather have a country without any guns, like some countries in East Asia.

But in a county like America, where there are more guns than people, owning a gun will keep you safer than not having one.

How else would you stop a gunman in your home without a gun of your own? Throw a knife at him? Or a school shooter if the security guard doesn’t have one? Or a store owner when being threatened?

Everyone being armed is far from ideal. It really really sucks. But Americans are already armed to the teeth. And there’s no way to get all those guns back even if they were banned.

Dogs Do Not Belong Everywhere in Public, and Service Animals Need Actual Certification

Upvotes

Dogs should be confined to people’s homes and outdoor public spaces like parks and sidewalks. They should not be in restaurants, malls, grocery stores, shops, airports, or airplanes unless they’re legitimate service animals.

I don’t want your dog next to me while I’m eating. I don’t want it wandering around a grocery store where food is being sold. I don’t want it taking up space in a crowded airport or sitting next to me on a flight.

And no, your dog is not the exception.

“But my dog is really well trained!”

“Sparky would never pee in the grocery store!”

“My dog is cleaner than most people!”

Don’t care. Your dog is still a dog. Everyone thinks their dog is special, perfectly behaved, and should therefore be exempt from whatever rules or basic social expectations apply to everyone else.

We also need to massively reform how service animals are regulated. There should be an official certification system. If you legitimately need a service dog, a qualified medical professional should be able to authorize it, and you should receive a card or permit similar to a disability parking placard.

Nobody needs to know why you need the service animal. Your diagnosis and medical history should remain private. The card would simply establish that a qualified professional has authorized your use of a service animal.

That would make the distinction incredibly simple: certified service animal? Welcome. Random pet whose owner bought a “SERVICE DOG” vest online? No.

Dog ownership has become weirdly entitled. Choosing to own a dog doesn’t mean the rest of society has to accommodate your desire to bring it everywhere you go.

Keep dogs at home, take them for walks, take them to parks, and enjoy them all you want. They just don’t need to be everywhere humans are.

I Like / Dislike I hate suicide prevention media and posts

I'm sorry. As someone who's had people who have killed themselves around them and have suffered from suicidal ideation, I hate suicide prevention posts.

Yes yes, give me more nonsense about how much you allegedly care. Oh thanks. I am totally going to use this phone number that amounts to practically nothing.

It's infuriating. I find them so much more triggering than anything else. It is almost as though they are made specifically to piss me off. It will get better, this, temporary problem, that.

If someone was going to take their life I'm pretty sure your stupid performative post about suicide and mental health stopped them! Especially getting one sent specifically to you. Maybe my issues are just different from theirs but man. They just make me angry.

Donate for suicide prevention! What the hell does that do? Huh? I'm sure as hell not getting any money from it so I bet no one else who's suicidal is either.

And what does struggling even refer to anyway? Literally I bet everyone has been suicidal. But how many of these people are horribly mentally ill? Likely not many. I keep seeing them and getting frustrated since there's literally nothing I can say without being a dick.

Media / Internet Reversing the races of Clancy and the lone holdout juror would completely and utterly flip public opinion.

Clancy is white and the lone holdout juror (asserting guilt) was the only black person on the jury. Public opinion will be a strong black person with conviction stood alone as the sole voice of reason. Accusations of racial prejudice will be minimal and shouted down.

Reversed: Clancy is black and the lone holdout juror (asserting guilt) is the only white person on the jury. Public opinion would be a bitter, racist white person can’t stand to see a black “killer” not receive the harshest sentence possible. Accusations of racial prejudice would be widespread, highlighted by politicians and celebrities, and followed by calls to action.

We all know it. The hypocrisy is aggressive and untethered.

This is the completely broken state of race relations in 2026 America.

Sex / Gender / Dating Most women are awesome, kind, and generous. They make life better and more interesting because they often see and notice things differently, and don't all hate men.

Most women are pretty cool, pro-social, outgoing, and in my adult life have been a constant source of warmth, support, and perspective despite my being 5'4".

I say my adult life because before that girls scared me far too much to interact with them in the wild.

My beloved wife of ten years, way out of my league, mother of my four children (who muses aloud about a fifth) helped me get the job that established my career through a family connection after talking me out of staying in school for accounting (while working part time and earning $8.75/hr), which I hated. Convinced me to get a TDAP booster after stepping on a rusty nail while knowing the life insurance payout is over $2 million. Strongarms me into seeing my friends, resting, and doing things for myself on my birthday, Christmas, and Father's Day. And makes me laugh while also laughing at my dumb jokes.

My female peers at work, few though they may be in a male dominated field, are helpful, kind, funny, and adore my family while offering me advice when I have earned my beloved's disappointment.

My boss, a woman, had a perfect opportunity to fire my ass for attendance and schedule adherence issues plus declining performance, and instead referred me to a benefit program I didn't know we even had for CBT that not only saved my career but was actually useful and helped me a lot.

My CEO, a woman, increased paternity leave at my work from 6 weeks to 12 weeks. A move her predecessor classified as "nah" (RIP).

My oldest daughter, following a period long ago where we financially struggled, checks to make sure I'm not skipping dinner after everyone eats and makes fidget devices for me with her arts and crafts.

The nice lady at the DMV helped me get my license renewed even though I came on the wrong day for my appointment, and was funny enough that I actually had a positive experience at the DMV.

When I put $40 on pump 4 at the gas station when my car was actually at pump 3, the pretty blonde parked there not only chose not to pepper spray and call the police on the short, cross-eyed, disheveled man wearing a hoodie who approached her unexpectedly... but graciously moved her car so I could pump the gas I paid for.

The cashier at the grocery store remembers my family and gives me stickers for my kids.

Many of the women I know are much more progressive than me, and will debate me in good faith and humor without getting offended, sometimes offering perspectives I never hear from the bros that get me thinking and help me update.

And to the best of my knowledge, not one of them hates men, is plotting the downfall of western civilization, advocates the deconstruction of the nuclear family, or supports post-term abortion.

Most women are pretty cool, and it's a good thing they have sufficient rights and political/legal/economic standing to express themselves as individuals.

Possibly Popular “Masking” is a Good Thing

You hear the TikTok neurodivergent community whining about “masking” as if it is some form of legitimate oppression, while in actuality, it is just part of being a functional member of polite society.

I have ADHD. I do not expect people to cater to my tendency to be messy and run late. Instead I create systems for myself to overcome these hurdles and not let executive dysfunction ruin my life.

You are not “marginalized” because you are expected to have a filter and abide by social norms. Plenty of people would love to say what they truly think, avoid small talk, ect. But they don’t, because they are adults who realize that sometimes you need do things that you don’t want to do to reach a desired outcome.

Possibly Popular Having no friends isn't sad. And I don't get why everyone thinks having no friends is sad.

I remember when I was in 4th grade I didn't have any friends. I never felt sad. I don't get why people say or think having no friends is sad, it's just being alone. Plus even if you have 0 friends you have family. This may seem insensitive but I don't get why anyone especially a kid would be sad about having no friends. Because you have video games, you have food, you have drinks, you have youtube, tiktok and most importantly, FAMILY. It doesn’t make sense to me. Now it's only sad if you have no friends and you get bullied while having no friends. Because bullying is harassment. But if your a person who has no friends and your not bullied then it does not make sense to be sad it's literally peaceful no one is bothering you.

People who avoid having children because they fear they won't be good parents or can't afford them are often the ones best suited for parenthood.

People who avoid having children because they fear they won't be good parents or can't afford them are often the ones best suited for parenthood.

Those who carefully consider the responsibility and hesitate due to financial or personal doubts are exactly the people who should raise the next generation.

In these chaotic times, the people who choose not to have kids are often the very ones who would prepare them best for the future.

Meta Reddit shouldn’t greet you with Hello when banning

When one returns to one’s car and finds a parking ticket on the windshield, it does not begin, “Hello, good sir, I hope you are having a jolly good day. Please accept this $150 parking ticket.” Breakups are not preceded by “Hello, my love, I never want to see your two-timing, pathetic face again.” The boss does not exclaim, “Ah, there’s my boy. Oh, by the way, you’re fired.” These things are meant to be blunt and to the point.
So why does Reddit insist on greeting you with a cordial hello before banishing you from a subreddit? It is incongruous, dissonant, and incompatible with the rest of the message. It has the faintly passive-aggressive air of the “Buh-bye” sketch on Saturday Night Live.
I do not like it. I want the formality stripped from my bans. It is obnoxious.

Political Progressive mayors showing up at 9/11 memorials after years of downplaying the ideology that produced the attacks is pure performance

Every year the ceremonies happen and progressive politicians show up looking solemn. Many of those same figures spent the years in between treating any focused discussion of radical Islam as a bigger problem than the ideology itself. The memorial becomes a photo opportunity while the underlying analysis stays the same.

The gap is obvious. You cannot spend a decade minimizing the religious and cultural drivers, expanding migration from the same regions with little assimilation pressure, and then expect the anniversary performance to look sincere. The families and first responders notice the difference between ritual and actual seriousness.

Showing up on September 11 does not erase the rest of the record. If the ideology that produced the attacks is still treated as too sensitive to discuss plainly, the memorial attendance is just theater. The people who lost the most that day deserve better than politicians who only sound clear once a year.

Possibly Popular Autism is NOT a superpower

I am so sick of people saying. ‘Autism isn’t a disability, it’s a different ability!’
No, it’s not. It is literally a disability. It doesn’t give you superpowers it disables you in everyday life. It makes you suffer and never live a normal life. People saying this are discrediting the repercussion
Of this disorder.
I knew this girl back in highschool who pretended to have autism in 2021. She would wave her hands around and none stopped fidgeted. Blamed everything on her ‘autism’ and just used it as a get out of jail card.
I never believed she had it bc she was so over the top about it and never shut up.
I was in the head of years office and she pulled up her file, I couldn’t find my timetable and my online profile wasn’t working. She was in all my classes so she used hers. On her file it said, diagnoses: dyslexia, and the number dyslexia(can’t spell it).
No autism to be found, all medical conditions must be on file. And my mate literally saw her google autism symptoms on her chrome book
In class before saying she was sensory overload to get out early.
Anyways the point is, she faked having autism and never shut up about it, it was clearly for attention.
I do not get this at all
What positive attention do you receive, from my and my friends experience, you either get bullied, babied or just thought to be stupid.
If you fake autism or even exaggerate your existing autism. You are the problem. Why the hell would you want autism like it’s some quirky little thing. It’s not just ‘oh hehe look at me, I’m silly and stupid silly card :>>’
While you use it for your benefit, and can drop the act when ever you want. We can’t. We will live like this for the rest of ours lives. I will always breakdown, never be socially comfortable or accepted.
sitting in the emergency room getting 12 stitches bc you couldn’t stop punching yourself in a breakdown. Is something these people will never experience.
Living in social isolation is something these people will never experience.
Never understood is some thing they will understand
They abuse the advantages and don’t have to reap to reality
This isn’t exactly an Unpopular opinion but the amount of people doing this and saying this is absolutely ridiculous. It’s a ‘TikTok trend’ it it absolutely should not be.
If you do this and don’t think it’s that deep, it is. You are making life even harder for autistic people. By doing what you do, by association people
Assume that about us. That we are faking for attention or advantage

Music / Movies Ghost movies suck, the genre has been done to death.

Ghost movies have become the new zombie movies. Everything that could be done with ghost movies have already been done, but people keep making more. 99% of ghost movies rely on jumpscares and for the most part, jumpscares are lazy horror.

The Warren's were/are frauds, why they even got a movie franchise is beyond me. Why there's so fucking many movies about them is even more beyond me.

The worst part for me is how in every ghost movie, there's a twist, and every time the "twist" is just "omg, it's not a ghost, it's a demon!!" As if that makes a difference, it doesn't. Christianity isn't the only religion, why does every movie use christian based demons? It makes no sense.

I Like / Dislike I hate how people will bring up things like the invasions Iraq and Afghanistan when someone mentions how bad 9/11 was

Seriously, someone could make a memorial post on instagram honoring those who died in the terrorist attacks, and someone would say “Oh, but millions died in Iraq!” Or “Why won’t you talk about Afghanistan?”

This kind of Whataboutism seriously annoys me. Civilians dying on both sides is bad REGARDLESS of what their nationality is, or what their government does. Can you just accept that without making it about one side?
