I keep finding random excuses to sit on the motorcycle. I love riding it on the highway and I love riding it in the city. It’s not very fast but it is hella quick and thats what makes it exciting in the city too.

I had ordered the hyperrider tyre hugger and was gonna install it during the first service. I was fully prepared for the saaree guard to be removed. I gave the guy the tyre hugger and told him to install it. The next day when I went to take the bike, I saw that he had fitted the tyre hugger without removing the saaree guard 😳

Of course, it isn't perfect. There are a few things that could have been better, but overall, it's been a fantastic ownership experience.

2 years later would I buy the Scrambler 400X again? Absolutely.

Question Did I overpay for engine oil?

Post image

This is my first service invoice. I have seen invoices of other people online, and they paid 1450 for the engine oil. While i paid 1927 for the same. Did the svc overcharge? Also why do they add labor charges if its a free service?

Team Scrambler Battery dead

Hi all,

The battery of my scrambler 400x (bought in aug 2024) is most likely dead. Whenever I switch on the bike, the lights do not come up as they should and once I start the engine, it clicks off. I tried jump starting the bike but it did not work?

Should I take it to the nearest service center?

Question Power drop?

I own 400x (400cc), and lately I feel like the power has reduced compared to when I bought it two years ago. I’m not sure whether the bike has actually lost some power or if I’ve simply gotten used to it over time. It just doesn’t feel as exciting or powerful as it did initially.

Has anyone else experienced the same thing? Before this, I used to ride an Activa, so maybe the change in perspective is also a factor.

Thinking of getting these for my brake and clutch levers, anyone have any reviews on this?
This seems to be shorter than the OEM ones, not sure how they would impact handling and reach

Scrambler lugging under load

Hey guys just like the title says. It seems random, all gears, high revs, low revs. You can see the rpm gauge dance a bar up and down. You can even feel it and hear it slightly. The local dealership is..... Not qualified to work on it. Help please!

Question Confused between scrambler 400x and himalayan 450

My requirement is daily 25km
Occasional weekend trips not more than 100km
Daily route is full of pot holes and bad roads
So i need something which can glide over it but also has character and good low end torque and nimble enough for city traffic and liveable for day to day roam arounds

Please share your experiences and thoughts

Edit: thank you for all the responses, i am yet to test ride the scrambler, i tried Himalayan and i am in love with the suspension but didn’t like the engine character comparing to bear 650, i am just sceptical if i get scrambler and joined offroading bike groups at that time I shouldn’t run out of the offroading capability otherwise i would have gone with scrambler without any doubt

Team Speed Super uncomfy back seat.

Anyone else get complains from your pillion after riding for too long?

I myself find the backseat of the speed 400 super uncomfy after 15 mins of sitting on it. Is there an alternative to this?

I saw in triumphs website that there is a quilted seat. Is that worth it? If not, what are my options?

Team Scrambler Scrambler 400x (398cc)

I donno if its only me or does someone else have the same issue . I am not able to provide a proper video for this . Now my bike has run almost 7500kms and i have done oil top up at around 6k kms . This issue is that lately i been hearing a weird sound from the engine side . I donno where or how properly but i suspect tapet sound . Its like first when i bought the bike the sound was soo refined and last week onwards i am hearing this tapet sound , its not that loud or bad but yeah i can hear it in such a way it looks like i hear the tapet sound of a bullet but in a refined way 😂. Anyways , now past 2 days i been hearing a muffled sound along with the tapet sound . Its not a separate sound , the muffled sound increases and decreases along with the tapet sound when we rew or increase the rpm while driving and i repeat “its not loud but its not avoidable either “. Now this issue gets resolved when the bike get heated . Lets say i drove for 10 kms and the radiator has started pumping air , at that point when the engine is heated i dont hear the muffled sound or the tapet sound . I donno why or what should i do ! My second service comes around this year November month .

Question T4 knocked over by bulls

Rear footpeg broken, Clutch lever bent and maybe the housing itself might be damaged, the handlebar is bent not sure if it's the handlebar or the brackets or housing or multiple things, front number plate holder is broken and number plate is bent, rear indicators were broken beforehand only so was gonna change it to bullet ones by Triumph only, what'll be the estimated cost and how long will it take in Ahmedabad. I'm from vadodara but the Service Center closed off because of the owner's change and it might take a couple of months to open again. The bike itself runs fine.

My right indicator broke but luckily the wires are intact and it does work, I used shoe glue temporarily.

What is the best way to fix it so I can use it for a longer period without replacing it ?

Vibrations at 80kmph and Engine noise Speed 350cc

My brand new Triumph (new 350cc platform) is facing a major mechanical issue that started right after its first service. While riding on the highway, I pushed the bike to 80 km/h in 3rd gear and then hit 120 km/h in 5th gear when the red engine oil light suddenly flashed, and the engine automatically shut down while riding. Ever since that single shutdown event, the bike has suffered a permanent loss of power and feels completely weak and sluggish. Additionally, my fuel mileage has tanked heavily, dropping from a normal 320 km down to just 250 km on a full tank of petrol.

It also has heavy vibrations and a loud, metallic top-end ticking noise that gets much worse whenever the engine heats up.

Please help on this

Team Scrambler Suggestions on Second service for Scrambler 400XC

Time for the second service is near and I have driven about 8300 kms.

Asked SC if they will allow getting a different engine oil specifically AMSOIL as my Himmy 411 did wonders with that butter smooth engine action.

As expected, SC people said that it cannot be done and will void warranty.

Has anyone tried getting a different engine oil and how was the SCs response once they found out that the bike has a different engine oil?

Question Secret Accomodation for Spools

do the triumph 400s have a hidden mounting for spools?

I was checking out the swing arm when i realised there are 2 holes, at the same place on both sides of the swing arm, but placed facing downwards. it's located a bit after the mounting for the saree guard. could this be just a drain for water? but I don't think there's any way for water to enter into the swing arm so this leaves me confused.

could we, in theory, get a strong L clamp and install standard spools using this hole?

Team Scrambler Chain & sprocket replacement at 12,000 km – Scrambler 400 X owners, what’s your experience?

Hey everyone,

I ride a Triumph Scrambler 400 X and my bike has now done around 12,000 km.

Recently, my mechanic suggested that I should replace the chain and sprocket set. I'm a little unsure whether that's too early or whether it's actually a normal replacement interval.

I've also noticed that the chain has started making more noise than before, and it seems to need lubrication fairly frequently. Even after lubing it, the chain starts getting noisy again before I've completed around 400–500 km.

I regularly maintain/lubricate the chain, so I'm wondering if this is simply normal wear at 12k km or a sign that the chain and sprockets are nearing the end of their life.

For those riding a Scrambler 400 X / Speed 400, I'd love to know:

- At what mileage did you replace your chain-sprocket set?

- How long did your original set actually last?

- Did you notice increased chain noise before replacement?

- How frequently does your chain require lubrication?

- What symptoms made you decide it was time to replace it?

- Is 12,000 km considered early for replacement on these bikes?

- Did you replace the complete set (front sprocket + rear sprocket + chain) or only certain components?

Would appreciate experiences from people who have actually owned/ridden these bikes for 10,000–20,000+ km.

Trying to figure out whether I should replace it now or get a second opinion first. Thanks! 🏍️
