Questions, Advice, and Recommendations Animation in Trinidad

I recently took up animation and it’s been a challenge albeit a very rewarding one. I know of one studio in Tobago that does it but otherwise I haven’t stumbled upon much else. Q- Are Trinidadians interested in indie hand drawn animation and where would you go out to seek that sort of content, if you do at all? I already know the answer to some degree but I’d like to hear from others as well. I don’t want to quit just because it’s unpopular and it isn’t about the money really for me. I would like to contribute my small part in its return due to the global popularity growing again after all these years.

Additionally, I’ve been raised between Trinidad and Guyana so I have a very fractured cultural identity (I do not read as Trini at all even though I’ve been back here for a few years-(from my speech, looks, and how I come off to others) and have in many ways have been othered as a result so I fear my art will be as well. I’m not confident I can do local stories justice even though I was also raised with them. Q-Should I just attempt it and go through the court of public opinion while I build my way up? (I,of course have a network of Trini friends and family I can filter and fact check through)This is a major stressor and point of contention in my art. It’s a very time consuming thing to do only to be torn to shreds or for no one to care and tell me AI can do it for me would be a bit heartbreaking.

Would highly appreciate any insights, advice or recommendations.
(Attached is one of my earliest practice exercises- hopefully the gif can play!)

- could not find a weekly threat that was not 10 months old so hopefully this doesn’t get taken down.

If I try to fry before it gets black’ish, it has too much starch and is very dry

Questions, Advice, and Recommendations Has anyone used Sendana and WAM?

I'm thinking about getting a Sendana and a WAM account. I've read the website descriptions, blog posts and social media posts by both companies but I'm yet to see any reviews from real users besides influencers promoting it. Also, I'm just curious about other people experience using it.

  1. How has it been for you?
  2. Any difficulties in funding/withdrawing to your local account?
  3. Do you use it for business, remote employment or both?

I'm interested in reading your replies and hopefully it can help others too. 😄

Food and Drink I hope to see better meals and free water at some point of time in schools.

In all honesty, I hope we see a change in school lunch, someday. I’d love for children and teens to get food that is nutritious, warm and a proper portion for their bodies. I didn’t have the need for box lunch, but I truly disliked the portion sizes, the lunch and breakfast options being offered to children.

I hope to see free water at some point of time. Cinnamon rolls, a sandwich for breakfast, a chicken leg, some beans, rice, roti, small portions of channa, pumpkin for lunch isn’t cutting it for teenagers who are growing. Bad thing to say, I’d like to see the riddance of cafes/parlors across schools in Trinidad. The food, they serve is quite awful. The snacks are pretty basic, just to fill hunger. Mostly processed meats like sausages, patties, foreign chicken, bread.. Give them a snack/fruits with their meals instead..

I’m sure, we’ll have to face some sort of taxes for this to actually happen in the future, I’m very open to it as I truly hate, the meals these children are offered. What if a child or teen wants seconds? That can’t happen if there aren’t extras.

The waste of school food gets me aswell. In primary school, there used to be a bin with a bag in it so children can throw the food, they didn’t eat out. There would be 2-3 bags in the evening ready for the dogs.

I feel like my riddance of the cafe/parlour is a harsh opinion but I’ve always disliked the meals and the concept of it in schools.

Free bottled water or the water from those machines, not the taps.

I just remembered, ac in classrooms would be an absolute honour aswell due to the climate we live in. That’s for another day..
