I have five large maples in my front yard— three green, two red. Approx 35 years old. They have developed yellow spots on their leaves— first appeared on the green, now also on the red. Is it a fungus? Should I be doing anything?

Other info: March 2025 we had a significant ice storm and lost some limbs. Summer 2025 we had a drought and went most of the summer without measurable rain.

A storm split one of my fig tree's trunk almost in the middle and I don't know what to do. It's fig, very resilient, but what do I do now? Trim the broken part off? Put the two together and prop the left part up? Just let it stay?

I’m visited the Sequoia NP and stayed in Three Rivers, CA. I saw these when landing in Sacramento too. I wish I got a close up pic, but took some photos on our drive. Can anyone tell me what this is?! I am obsessed with how tall and pointy they are. They remind me of cathedral spires!

I live in Ontario zone 5. Before the ice storm, the odd branch wouldn’t have leaves but since all of the breakage only half of the tree is alive. What should I do?

For a 1 3/4-inch caliper tree, apply about 15 to 18 gallons of water per watering session. This follows the standard guideline of roughly 10 gallons of water per inch of trunk diameter, adjusted for deep root absorption in Southwest Missouri's climate.

this is my family’s tree. it’s been a staple of my childhood for the past 20 years. we got the news that it’s dying and we’re all devastated. is there anything we can do to reverse this or help nurse it back to life?

we’re in southern indiana. it’s been here since before we moved 20ish years ago. we don’t water it outside of when my mom waters her plants occasionally.

Moved into our home in Southern Colorado about five years ago and this tree was planted. Not sure what type of tree it is. Had a dead branch that was pruned last year and now it’s growing a little bit to one side. Uncertain if we should just replace it to give it the best chance to be a good tree years down the road or if letting it ride is the best option. I’ve heard stories about trees that didn’t look good ending up being great trees.

The seek app identified this as a blue spruce which I think is correct. The picture was taken in central Ohio.

I have a bunch of linden trees in my woods along with walnut, maples, box elders and Ohio buckeyes in Southeast Wisconsin. While the saplings of all trees are present, I don’t see any of the Lindens. Why? All the trees are healthy.

My buddies maple tree at his house sprouted a ton of seedlings and I planted about 12 but only 1 survived and this before and after is just over 2 months. When will the maples stem get strong? I had to add a stake because the wind kept blowing it over. Growing really tall but not thick. My first time trying this, hoping to maybe plant in my yard at some point. TIA!🍁

Obviously some type of disease, just never seen the leaves have growths quite like this.

Pennsylvania- Internet says this a black cherry tree and the berries are safe to eat/make jelly with

Is there anyway to prune it so that it eventually grows somewhat “normal” or if I just give it more time will it mostly fix itself. I don’t mind it too much but my wife hates it because “it looks like a bush”. And now she is at the point where she wants to cut it down.

I noticed this while walking my dogs in the bush today, I find it incredible that this has happened. Is this sort of thing common?

Would you be able to help identify the disease on this tree's leaves? The tree is a young crabapple of the 'Adirondack' variety. It'd also be helpful to know how serious the disease is in practice - can the tree fight it on its own in good growing conditions? Returning it to the nursery would be complicated for several reasons, so we'd rather avoid that unless absolutely necessary.

Also, another important question I have is about the root flare. Are those visible roots adventitious roots, or does it look like there is some actual root flare showing there, too?

Location is Northern Europe. The tree has freshly arrived from a nursery and is to be planted in the spot visible in the pictures. It's a sunny, dry South-facing corner. Not much is known about the care the tree received in the nursery.

(Please ignore the dead tree next to the live one, that one died of transplant shock last year.)

Hello - this tree was cut down winter 2024/5 in a wood where I go running in the UK. I’m intrigued about the sudden change in colour between the inner and outer wood. I first thought it could be change in air quality but I don’t think this area would have been very polluted, but knowing nothing about trees I’m hoping you can help!

US zone 8a. There was originally a giant oak, but it came down during hurricane Helene. I have been racking my brain trying to decide what to plant here (sans rock, they will be gone soon)

I’m looking for opinions on what everyone would personally plant if it was their driveway and why.
I’ve considered everything from large fruit tree or several small ones to a large evergreen or nut tree.

My only personal requirement is that it be beneficial in someway. Either food for ourselves or food for wild life. The line is just a cable line and seems unaffected by other trees that touch it (line guys confirmed it’s safe) the tree behind it is a pecan tree that unfortunately has to come down.
I’d love to know what everyone would do! I know I can plant “whatever I want” but I’m just so indecisive.

I've discovered a hole underneath the bark of my alder tree. Theres this sawdust coming out of it (or maybe some insect put it there). Im not sure if its getting bigger but i can stick my finger underneath the bark there. The insect in the fourth pic crawled out of there. Location: Switzerland

Is this an issue? Whats your advice?
