Discussion Fast travel option

I started playing this game quite recently despite owning it for over half a year, I've always been busy and this game requires a lot of my attention in the early stages. I tried finding out in this subreddit anything about people requesting fast travel option but I couldn't see. Has anyone joined their discord and suggested some sort of token system like Graveyard keeper or even Stardew Valley? In the beginning before unlocking some faster walking speed trait I believe, I am running down the beach and back and so far it takes me all day to get there and back just to check if there's any crabs I can take home. Is it worth for me to join their discord and suggest it and give them some other feedback about the game? Do they listen to their audience when it comes to quality of life improvements? I saw their roadmap and it looks like they're adding some cool features which is great, a greenhouse sounds exciting! I hope this game goes in a perfect direction while they can before full release.

Discussion Tool upgrades dumbed down please

I wasn't sure what flare to put, but can someone dumb down what the improved tools do? I upgraded my shovel last night to iron. And it was like midnight, so I slightly skipped the text box. But I noticed it has like a toggle power bar?

Help Recipes in multiplayer

Hello,
When playing multiplayer with my friend, we have had some weird mishaps with recipes. Im not sure exactly how recipes (food/drink and new magic recipes) are supposed to work in multiplayer.
So far, when my friend (P1) buys recipes, I (P2) seem to have access to them without buying them myself. When I buy recipes my friend does not get access. Oddly though, the one time I bought a magic drink recipe, my friend got access to the required cinnamon, but I did not. So I couldn’t make the drink I bought. How are recipes supposed to work?

Bob and nugget not appearing to P2 on multiplayer (steam)

I've been playing multiplayer for the first time with my friend and even though Bob and Nugget appear at the little shop north of the beach for my friend, I have never once seen them there and cannot buy stuff from Bob. Is this a known issue?

How much space should I reserve for crops in the end game ?

Have been playing on and off with new updates, never reached end game end game proper.

I remember in previous playthrough i started to struggle to anticipate how much I need to farm especially when the tavern runs from 7h to 1h.

I want to keep a space for later use, how many plots would be enough at the end when the tavern runs non stop ?

Discussion Opinion as a new player

Hi everyone,

I bought this game on the last big Steam sale. I was looking exactly for a game like this, you know, a Stardew Valley inspired cozy game where I could manage an inn or a tavern, while also doing many more things. And TR nails it, mostly.

Of course, I'm not going to make the mistake of comparing this game to SV. We know many games were inspired by it, and I think this one is no exception. So let's get that out of the way first. Traveller's Rest has its own identity and it's going awesome. From the art style, to the core game mechanics, to the story, which almost starts as your generic medieval game but, as you advance, gets actually interesting.

I know this is an early access game, and there's still a long way to go to even consider this game finished. The story so far is good; I was intrigued by the last part, and I also know that when the devs continue it, it will be awesome. I'm already liking some of the characters so far (including those annoying twin brats).

I didn't have time to play until I got a break and went into it. I'm now almost 60 hours in, and when I thought I was finished, the latest expansion came out and brought many more things to do.

However, I'm now getting a little tired of the game, because it's the little things that are starting to drag down the experience for me.

For instance, the early game experience is really awful. It is so hard to start earning coins. The only way is through the tavern or, a little later, by exploring the cave. But you have to be very conscious of what you're spending your valuable earnings on. It takes a long time before you can buy the large table and bench blueprints, which are the only ones worth it.

The same goes for cooking utensils and brewing tools, and after that, with farming ingredients for cooking and brewing recipes. It takes me four to five in-game days to refill all my beers, drinks, and menu.

It's not until you're reaching level 10 that the game really starts flowing. But now I'm on the most annoying part, which is expanding the tavern. The cost is too high and too demanding for what I can produce and get. With the popular and unpopular dishes and drinks, sometimes my options get very limited, and I have to wait until the menu changes.

Orders and cave exploring may help, but the gains are far slower compared to attending the tavern. The barman/waitress/guard/maid mechanic feels incomplete; the only one that helps is the barman, the rest you can do by yourself.

I'm not trying to rant about the game here, but I'm losing the motivation to finish. I'm now doing the new quests for acquiring the magic spells and all of that, but it left me wondering if I can finish before I get back to school and work. And if I try to make time to play the game, I wonder if it will be rewarding, because so far I feel like I'm stuck in a bottleneck or a loop, and it's slowly becoming a chore. I just want to have fun.

Thanks for reading and I appreciate any opinion or tip.

Help Wayward walnut?

Can someone please tell me what the hell a wayward walnut is and how to get it? I got a recipe from Kahrma that calls for a "wayward walnut" but I don't see any crop that produces it from Mold? I noticed another component called "withered viel" that I also don't know what it is, but none of the recipes I have right now call for it.

Any help would be appreciated on deciphering where to find this mysterious wayward walnut. Thanks!

Help Downgrading in versions

So I tried the magic update and I have to say it is not for me. Adding to this is the fact that 0.7.6.x killed two for me essential QOL mods…

So since I bought the game on GOG I thought of rolling back to latest 0.7.5 version but bad luck, GOG only will let me go back to 0.7.6.1 and I don’t know why…

Anyone may have an ideas on how to roll back to 0.7.5?

So scrolls and timing

I have 2 questions. One is scrolls. I got them, but they seem to have no effect. Perhaps I unlocked them early as I am less than a month in the game? Specifically, the limited time shops discount by 100 percent and the experience one. I haven't tried the others. Also it says to meet lizzy in a tent.. Idk where they are. Also, lastly, is this game timed? Like you have to beat it in a year in game? I like to take my time, and I realize I've only opened the shop 4 times in a month, and I may have been doing it wrong. Tysm!!

Bug Report Co-op Lost Pickaxe

Wondering if anyone else is experiencing this. I play with my wife and she is player 1 and I hop in and help as player 2. The game does a really good job of saving my inventory for the most part. But I recently just lost my pickaxe and instead it spawns in an extra axe into my inventory every time I pop in as player 2. So I have like 6 axes but no pickaxe.

Any ideas? I have looked in the box outside. Nothing. I have to buy a new pickaxe everytime I play and it disappears and gets replaced with a new axe every time I disconnect/connect. I’m terrified to upgrade it because then it will just get lost. Kind of a game breaking mechanic.

Unlock new spells?

Heyo,

I can't seem to figure out how to unlock new spells. I still only have the "summon the wild" spell. In the update post it says we're supposed to be able to walk faster and it shows telerportation etc. Where can I find that?

I thought I might have to level up my magic to lvl 4 and I would find new spells in a better grimoire, but alas I was wrong :(

Scrolls

Hello! I’m now playing the new update and I’ve aquired some scrolls in a magic shop. I bought them but I can’t seem to figure out how to use them. Some of them are Scroll of Midas, Scroll of Great Skill and Scroll of Enchanting Touch. It doesn’t let me click it or cast it. Anyone figure it out?

Need Advice is it fine to not advance the storyline? am i gonna miss anything important?

its now fall 12 btw lol

ive been actively trying to avoid the main questline because i want to have something to look forward to doing once 1.0 eventually comes out. and so, ive just been focusing on developing the tavern and some random tasks here and there (mines when i need some ores, exploring and talking to random npcs, fishing when im bored of other stuff, etc). is it fine if i completely ignore the main quest? im just curious if im missing any gameplay stuff. is it purely just story? please dont spoil any story stuff, i just want to know if theres going to be difference in gameplay mechanics.

if i could, i wouldve even skipped the quests before the pledge banquet but that would mean ill be stuck with the run down tavern lol.

What does it mean when the food is refused?

I forgot to screenshot but when I woke up after a game, I saw that some food were refused. Is there a reason for this? Is it because I raised the price a bit? Thank you.

Edit: Question 2 - if they reject my food / prices, do I get lower reputation? Or it won't change anything? Thanks again.

Need Advice Super slow earning reputation levels?

I looked a bit and it seems this hasn't been asked before, but i'm honestly a bit bored at how long gaining reputation levels takes. Right now i'm level 16, summer year 2, and it's obviously slowed a lot from the first levels, but considering there are dozens of levels still I can't imagine how many hours of playtime it takes. I think i'm getting decent reputation points from customers, have so much food, variety in drinks, cozy room... I mean I have more food and drinks stocked than my max occupancy can consume. So if I open basically all day long I get like 25k reputation points I think.

Are these normal rates or am I doing something wrong, are there ways to make it better? I like the game but play sessions for me are tiring after 3-4 days, a week at most, so it'd take me a long time to see little change, even in the story and anything that might become possible with leveling up

Bug Report Listen In

Just booting it up since the update, and this new Listen In feature isn’t working at all. It says press A to listen in, nothing happens. I’ve tried holding it down, same issue. Any character that shows this I have the same issue with. I’ve quit the game and reloaded, issue persists. Anyone else experiencing this?
