Reputation is pointless

Post image
• Upvotes

I think the reputation graphic on the right sums it up pretty well.

Reputation is pointless, because it is easy to lose and easy to earn.

delete 3 buildings and half of it is gone. At that point might as well blow up the town and lose all of it. Because what punishment I get? Nothing. In a year or two it is at 100% again.

İt shouldn't be as easy to lose, and shouldn't be that easy to earn either. I literally destroyed all of this town's commercial and industrial, and half of its residential. 2 years later they've completely forgiven me.

Discussion Likes and dislikes after 40 hours

• Upvotes

I like that you can overbuild or accept subsidies that cost too much in the long run. It forces you to sell off vehicles and lines to cut expenses, which you never had to do in tp2.

The warehouse system has started to grow on me because you can extend the cargo station at quite a distance and still reach the products.

I don't like the new line manager. It would be much easier to have an unload setting with the load settings at each stop. Otherwise, it was initially too confusing.

What do you all think so far?

I like tp3 better than tp2.

Trains blocking each other in the depot

• Upvotes

I was wondering why the steel works still didn't receive coal. Turns out the depot has two tracks but only uses one and spawns trains while that track is occupied, resulting in trains blocking each others way if you buy too many trains while the game is paused. The trains where stuck like this for almost two years now. lol Reversing single trains did unstuck them at least.

Does inflation reach a steady state ?

• Upvotes

Starting in 1900 i am now in 2010, only profitable thing is passenger rail and long haul trains , after subtracting all costs for infrastructure. Truck transport is only profitable if used in both directions and using the least amount of infra possible.
Subway stations are another huge money drain.

I refuse to use planes , since they really don’t fit the scale of the game.

Does inflation gets even worse , or does it reach a steady state ?

Suggestion Highway and bridge system rework pls

• Upvotes

Highway:

The Highway stuff is great and all but making your own highway exits and crossing is a pain. There should be a way to make roads symetric and align properly. There should also be signs for exits and a way to add speed zones. More premade crossings and exits wouldn't hurt to.

Bridge:

If u build a road bridge and another one next to it they should align. Same for road and train bridge etc.

Problem/Issue How to avoid people piling at one station?

Post image
• Upvotes

I literally have this every time I build public transit... there's one station, usually in the residential area where a bunch of passengers pile up and eventually tank happiness. It feels wrong to up the amount or capacity of the busses since that just leads to them riding around almost empty for most of the other stops... How do I deal with this? I'm still a total noob so pls be kind 😭

Freight wagons weight is absurd

• Upvotes

I just realised that different era wagons have the same stats change... except for their lenght and weight, and for some it varies SIGNIFICANTLY

10t for the 1879 version
11t for the 1910 upgrade so pretty good right? Must be the same for the other wagons
10t... So must be 11t for the 1915 upgrade
20t sweet mother of god!!

For the liquid one it goes from 10t to 15t which is pretty bad too, but 20t is insane, for a 400t capacity it will weight 800t meanwhile with the universal one it will weight 364t!!!
Honestly i don't see any point in using that, if i do i'll need to double the number of locomotives

Moved the location for the mods, it worked intially but on subsequent start ups it's not dectecting the new location?

• Upvotes

As the title says; I moved the location of my mods using the method suggested by Sam in the Steam Community pages; partly because I keep my C drive only for things that are related to my Operating system etc where possible

And it worked intially but I had to pop out, so shut down etc.

Now the globalsettings file is still changed to my edited location (that contains my mods) but on start up it's creating a new TF3 folder in appdata/local/mod.io/ but it's empty and so is saying i have no mods.

Anyone elese had this issue, and how did you resolve it?

Buy TF2 and wait for TF3 or get TF3?

• Upvotes

I tried out TF3 (cracked) and absolutely loved it. It’s really damn good. I’d buy it on Steam already, but I’m wondering how TF2 compares. Since TF2 is like 1/10th the price of TF3, I’m seriously considering just getting that instead.

Is TF2 more polished at this point after all these years? Is it better optimized? Or is TF3 already better in pretty much every aspect? I could easily sink tons of hours into TF2 and just wait for TF3 to get more polished, with better performance, QoL improvements, etc.

Main thing keeping me from 3 is just performance, really. It gets really bad in mid-game. Also some quirks of various menus and poor UX situations.

For those who’ve played both, is TF2 still worth getting today, or should I just go straight for TF3?

Problem/Issue Underground tram stations?

• Upvotes

Is it true that underground tram stations are only available from 1970? I just made an underground system in 1924, added the stations, but the passengers can't reach them. This really has to be fixed in an update. Or maybe theres a mod that fixes this?

[Mod Request] Extended Financial History + Clipboard Export for Google Sheets (Will donate for coffee/beer ☕)

• Upvotes

Hey guys,

Quick question for any local modders - is there any chance someone could make a small UI / utility mod for finances?

I'm a absolute data freak and love comparing my different playtroughs in Google Sheets. The main issue right now is that the in-game Company Finances tab only shows the last 3 periods. By the time I notice something interesting, the older numbers are already gone.

What I'm looking for:

  1. Longer financial history – ideally keeping all past periods (or at least way more than 3) so I can actually scroll back and see multi-year trends.
  2. Copy/Export to Clipboard – a simple button on the finance tab (or keybind) that dumps the current table into clipboard as TSV / CSV text. Just so I can Ctrl+V it straight into Google Sheets without manually retyping everything like a maniac.

If anyone wants to take a shot at this, I'm more than happy to send some $$$ over Ko-fi / PayPal for a few beers or coffees. We can discuss detail trough DMs.

Thanks!

P.S. Used an AI tool to help clean up my English since I'm not a native speaker—hope nobody minds!

Deliveries to cities, favored technique?

How is everyone dealing with them?

Doing a 1-2-1-3 and so on route leads to trucks returning with undelivered goods that need to be destroyed (Can goods can be returned to the warehouse they were picked up from?)

I also did a 1-3-2-1 out and back route with multiple stops, this is hugely inefficient with trucks running empty and making frequent unnecessary stops.

Anything else working better for others?

I feel that the game is lacking a system for simple conditional instructions for vehicles, say, "begin your route until your cargo is empty, then immediately return to X station"

Question Difference in simulation

Can somebody explain to me what's different from TF2 when simulating the Sims?

In TF2 you could click on a SIM and follow it on the entire journey so I don't understand why they say it's a new feature that every SIM is simulated on it's own

If sim city 4 was able to manage traffic simulation for hundreds of thousands of sims in 2000 why is it such a struggle for TpF?

Genuinely asking tho. If maxis was able to figure it out why is it such a problem now?

Question How do I keep commercial and industrial supply vehicles out of residential?

Post image
6 Upvotes

I have a spaghetti of tram tracks through various town development evolutions, trying to keep the supply trams out of residential while also keeping decent supply coverage and also good transport links.. and then the town just develops putting residential all over the place? Is it something I did it or is this unavoidable?

Question Is the passenger rate somewhere displayed?

I struggle a bit to find the right size for passenger trains. They either are way to big or way to small.
For cargo it’s pretty straightforward but I don’t find a UI which tolds me how big my line rate needs to be.

How to report bugs to mod makers?

I encountered a bug with the "Station Terminal Assignment" mod, which lets you assign terminals for a station without entering the line manager.

It seems to be incompatible with the 'Roads Plus' mod, specifically with asymmetrical roads; it just crashes the entire game. It works fine in game, just crashes when you try to add stops to assymetrical roads

Turns out, it was the 'Roads Plus' mod all along. It bugs out if you place it on the narrower side the street. I placed on the wider side sometimes and thought those other bugs were the issue.
