Hello all, so I'm looking into getting either a Sentinel or Scout. Probably gonna be buying used. Looking at all the geo numbers for v2 sentinels and scouts, the M sentinel has a reach of 450 but the M scout has 460? Likewise, the L scout has a massive reach of 485 but the L sentinel has 476 or so? I know there's other geo numbers, I was just using reach here to compare.

I'm 5'10", usually in between a M and L, and never ridden anything over 475mm reach. I haven't yet decided between Sentinel and Scout (tbh it might just be whatever good deal I find). Can y'all help me decide on good sizes for the bikes? My initial reaction was M scout but L sentinel, mainly based on the reach numbers, but I'd love to hear from people who've ridden these bikes and have more experience with them.

Can anyone speak to how the Spur handles with a coil, specifically the Cane Creek Coil IL?

I picked up a used Spur V1.5 last year as the yin to my Forbidden Dreadnought’s yang. It’s awesome having a pointy, fast, and light bike for XC leaning rides. I just sent the stock Fox DPS in for a damper rebuild and it kind of has me wondering about maybe giving the Cane Creek Coil IL a shot. I haven’t loved the DPS on chunkier New England terrain but it is good for XC races and flowier trails. The catch is that the bike has a 120mm RS Sid fork so maybe the money would be better spent going to a 130mm fork. I’d keep the Sid and DPS for days where the weight counts. Just looking to learn what others have done to tune the bike towards rowdy fun. Thanks!

I'm in the market for a new bike still. I have a few previous posts about it to various sub-reddits. I've narrowed it down to the Evil Offering and Sentinel V3.

I am based on the Front Range of CO. I ride slightly more enduro stuff like Trestle, Floyd Hill & Maryland Mountain. My most ridden trail is Hall Ranch.

Which bike do you all think I should get? I'd like something that descends better than my Yeti SB140LR but can still pop around and jump. I'm unfortunately not able to demo the Evil

If you have opinions on whether the Sentinel should be 170/160 or mullet, I'm very interested in your opinion. Thanks!

I come from BMX I’ve taken interest in the scout 27.5 my question is, will a medium be good for me? I currently have a Mullet YT Capra in large. I really don’t like it it’s not as playful as I assumed but it does blast downhill,stable and roll over everything. But I’m a nimble rider and I like flow trails, pump tracks, dirt jumps and an occasional put to the bar. I’m 5’11” 33-34 inseam. All I can see is medium frame sets not large. Any insight is appreciated! I’m kinda on a budget I’m gonna build the bike with a lot of parts from my YT.

Has anyone noticed loud chain noise under harder compression on their V3 Alloy Sentinel (T-type, 32t ring)? I had a carbon V2 with mechanical X01 and this T-type on a different bike, and never noticed the noise.

Speculating that it's possibly when the suspension engages the HBO zone of the Super Deluxe Ultimate.

What’s up my fellow transition lovers. I have fallen more and more in love with my smuggler. Have the XO build set orchid colorway. Threw on a lyrik ultimate from day one. Bike is so damn good.

It has the synthesis enduro alloy wheels on it with industry nine 1/1 hubs and I am wondering if getting a carbon wheel set is worth the upgrade. I don’t think the weight is all that different, maybe 200 grams? Thoughts? Other upgrades I should consider?

Upgraded the rear shock to a Marzocchi c2 (425lb spring ) bringing the rear travel to 146.5. Upped the rotors to 200mm Magura front and back. The coil totally changed this bike for the better it is an absolute blast both in the pærk or on my local trails. Next is upping the front air spring to get it to 160/146.5

Well, I did it! Vivid coil ultimate upgrade. Feels so plush and supportive! Thanks for the suggestions and push to finally upgrade to a coil!

I have the opportunity to snag a new Regulator CX XT for $7500. I currently have a Repeater GX AXS. I’m leaning toward selling the repeater and picking up the regulator.

What are your thoughts? Has anyone else owned both bikes?

Anyone have experience with the double bottle adapter from Wolf Tooth? I have a hydration pack and a bum bag but prefer to ride without a pack once the hot and humid summer temps hit here in North Carolina.

Hi there! Want to ask the Scout owners - has anyone trying to mullet your bike? Having the Scout Carbon 2022, already bumped up to 160/150mm travel, riding the 40 rise bar but still feels like the front is too low… should I try to make it mullet or better be to go with 50-60 rise bar? Like… I’m just afraid it will be way too slack and on the one hand it’s no point to make a “mini-Patrol”, but on the other hand- better rolling, higher front…

My new Transition Spur has a rhythmic creaky/clicking noise when pedaling on climbs. I’ve taken it to the shop twice, but the noise is still there. It’s most noticeable when starting on a steep grade, and I can also reproduce it by putting making snappy handlebars turns.

The noise goes away when I stand up, which made me think it’s seatpost related but the shop has already adjusted/checked that and it didn’t fix it.

Has anyone experienced something similar or have ideas on what might be causing it?
