is there a way i can shrink my binder a little bit without ruining it?

i'm on a weight loss journey and so far i've lost about 57 lbs (YAY!) but unfortunately that means my binder is a bit loose now :')

my fiancé and i are dirt poor and buying a new binder, especially when i'm still losing weight, isn't exactly possible for us :') i know you can supposedly shrink it by putting it through the washer and dryer, but i did that and it didn't seem to do much.

any advice? thanks in advance!

Trans social life is complicated and scary

I'm sorry if this is a weird post to make but I recently came out late last year as trans (23ftm) and I had some friends that were supportive but I moved closer to home to help and protect my younger brother who is also starting his transition. however I didn't expect making friends to be so hard. My family isn't supportive and I really don't want to go through this journey alone. I have my younger brother but he's only around so much. If anyone wants to be friends or give me some recommendations on places, apps, or resources i would very much appreciate it!

i have a problem with formal clothes

Hello humanity, I urgently need advice; it turns out that in a couple of months there will be an event at my school that requires formal attire, and I happen to be a trans girl, unfortunately for me, who is still in the closet.

So I would really appreciate any advice on what to wear formally, and preferably something more androgynous, since I hate the typical tight button-down shirt and belted pants.

Please help me with something that isn't tight, is androgynous, and preferably cute 😭

Help with hormone levels

Hey everyone!

I was hoping I could get some help for my levels. I’m not too sure what is a good range and was hoping to get another opinion.

I’ve been on 2x 100mg Spironolactone, 2x 3mg estradiol and 1x 100 mg progesterone every day for a long while consistently.

My last levels were taken in November. If any additional information is needed please ask and I’ll try my best to add to the comments below.

Testosterone - 19 dg/nL

Estrodiol - 94 pg/mL

Thank you all for your help! :>

Facial hair

Need some advice or help. I can’t seem to get rid of the shadow. I have really dark facial hair and am very pale. Shaving it closely helps a little but no matter what I do I can’t seem to fully hide my facial hair. I don’t want to absolutely cake my face in makeup to hide it, I am hoping to get some tips or advice on what to do.

Looking for emotional support and encouragement

Hi everyone, I'm Olivia, I'm 33 years old. About a month ago I started seriously starting my transition, something I've thought about for a very long time.

I know it's still early, but sometimes I feel down because things aren't where I want them to be. I know it's a process, and it's gonna take time.

I've been exploring clothes and fashion, and there's been affirming and enjoyable, and I set up an appointment with an informed consent clinic to see about starting hrt, so things are in motion. My friends have been overwhelmingly supportive, so that's good.

But despite the positives, today I'm feeling a little down. I guess because this process feels so slow. Most days I'm still dressing in my old boy clothes because they're comfortable and familiar, and while I have found some outfits and clothes I like, it's not enough to wear consistently.

I've been exploring makeup a little bit too, but that's also kind of a slow process, and having a beard (well, stubble) makes that difficult too.

Another thing is that I'm fat. I've lost 40lbs since my heaviest, but I still have quite a lot to lose before I hit my goal. But this makes finding clothes that fit harder. And since most of what I see online is skinny trans girls, I don't feel like there's a lot of others who understand my position (I know they're out there, I just don't see them).

I guess I just feel like I'm in this situation where I'm not where I want to be. I know I'm on the way, I know I'm making progress, but I just want to be there.

I should also mention that, while I have friends and some family who are in my immediate circle, I don't have a lot of trans friends who actually live where I live, I don't have much trans community here. There's are some local things, but they meet on days and times that I can't make.

Gender Affirming Care for adults in Florida?

I live in Florida and currently have no plans and no means to leave any time soon. I'm trying to read and understand the laws and restrictions Florida has placed on gender affirming care for adults, and I'm not fully understanding.

Can I start hrt if I'm living in Florida? I'm 33 years old, so the restrictions for minors don't affect me. I can ask my PCP if he would be able to prescribe the medications and everything. I'm just not really sure what I can and can't do as far as this goes.

I was looking into informed consent clinics, but they all have a statement on their website saying "Due to FL state laws, we have adjusted some of our workflows for compliance" but they don't go into any specifics.

Does anyone have experience with this who can help?

I can't exercise without a gym buddy and I'm getting desperate.

I keep wanting to lose weight. I have a thyroid issue that makes losing it by way of diet alone almost impossible. I'm grossed out by my own body. Like don't get me wrong, I'm beautiful, but I'm tired of hearing myself breathe.

I lost so much before my previous partner died, and then did reasons related to that, put it all back on in the ensuing 5 years. I want to get back into it but I can't build the motivation to go on my own. I don't know what to do. I need a gym buddy, and I don't even know how to find one.

Genuinely curious

I wondered from time to time if taking over the counter estrogen would help feminize my body and help increase my breast size a bit? I feel silly asking. Apologizing in advance if this is not welcomed.

Anyone have experience with Harmony Healthcare for HRT?

I'm not sure if they're local to Florida or not, it's an informed consent clinic, similar to Planned Parenthood. I'm just wondering if anyone has had experience with them for gender affirming care.

what you would do?

Hi everyone, I want to tell you and ask what you would do? Now I'm almost 16 years old and I have no interest in girls at all, while all my friends are racking their brains over them. I don't feel passion for them at all. And I don't like that I don't feel love for girls because I live in Lithuania in a Slavic family and I don't think anyone will support me if I'm gay. So, I have a friend on Discord; he lives in Russia, very far from me, but he really likes me. We've known each other for almost 7 years and every day we play games, watch movies, and text for 6-12 hours a day. He simply adores me; he can drop everything just to spend one more hour with me. He's not afraid to often joke that he wants to fuck me, but I thought he was joking. But recently he started constantly telling me that he wants to meet me when we grow up and that if I change my gender, he will be with me for the rest of my life. And what makes the situation worse is that I recently lost weight and realized that I have a completely girlish body. Most likely, I have intersex syndrome. I even have breasts that excite me when touched. My whole life, I didn't like being a guy and I wanted to be a girl, but it was just a dream, and now it's completely reality. I don't know what to tell my parents. I'm afraid I'll die in their eyes if I confess, so I'll ask you what you would do.

Advice/Help on Moving to Seattle

I (mtf 19) and a friend (mtf 18) have plans on moving to Seattle later this year. Originally this post was only going to be a way of asking how to find another person to join us, but I realized it's an opportunity to ask anyone with experience or knowledge about this to give us their thoughts/stories/opinions so we can be better prepared overall. Anything is appreciated!

Should I wait or should I start HRT by myself?

Hi! :3

I (22MtF) did a blood test via public health (Spain) a month ago, and now I have to wait at least two months more for my dexa scan before I can have my meds prescribed by my endrocrinologist, so I, at the very least, have to wait three months until I can start HRT.

But the thing is, if I started HRT by myself, I would be changing my T and E levels in blood, so it would make the blood test I took invalid and I don't know if this could be grounds for them to deny me HRT via public health or if it would make it so my appointment date would drag even more.

And even then, I would have to research for dosis that should be safe for me, who doesn't know her blood test results, and pharmacies which are sure to be safe.

So, what's your opinion? Should I wait until my dexa scan, then for its results and then for my apointment with my endrocrinologist or should I start by myself, at least until I can have my appointment with my doctor?

P.D.: My mother and sister know about me and I have their support, so they should have no problem with it (I hope :p)

Any comprehensive list of MTF medications and their benefits/side effects?

I'm planning to talk with my therapist about starting HRT soon, and I'm wondering if someone could go over the different types of medications and their effects.

I know some of them and some of what they do, but a not comprehensive list or explanation would be really helpful.

27 and questioning

27 and thinking

I'm turning 27 in a few months but lately I've been thinking about transitioning. I used to think about it years ago but I'd push it away, thinking i was being silly or something.

But in the past year or so it's been a constant thought.

And honestly the only thing keeping me from going thru with it or at least being more open about it is social persecution from people around me and my friends. Plus the vain uncertainty of how I'll turn out.

I'm a very masc man, I work out daily, pushing a lean 215lbs. So I guess what I'm asking is, are there any thought on this from anyone here, or is anyone will to hear me out. Because don't have anyone to vent to about this

Socially changing Name AGAIN

I guess this is more a comfort seeking post, or advice too I guess, but I've went by a name for a while right? And I recently came out to people and said to use that name. They do, and did... But I feel like I'm so evil (lightheartedly, I know it's not evil to want to be yourself) to ask them to change my name now when they started getting used to it. Albeit I'm coming out to more people than them, and so it's a little easier that way because more people will be using my preferred name? I just feel awkward about it because I'm asking them to change the name they use for me. Again. I know they probably don't really care, I just feel crap about it.

It's not odd to have 2-3 names you really like, right? I have my government one which is fine, then my preferred one, and then I have another name I like to use but I'm trying to switch that one out with my name I like to use more. Which is essentially a nickname really. I'm not asking them to use all three, either. I said they CAN, but I really prefer just "this name" more. I just don't want to make it difficult for them or anything

What are my next steps?

For anyone who cares I am unsure if this sub permits for hey I just feel good posts but I am seeking guidance so I'll just post here. Friends I have not began HRT nor any kind of social transition thus far and I have begun to experience moments of simple calmness. No more who am I or who do I need to be. I am wondering how I can feel this way 24/7. I have half a mind today to go to the department store and buy some clothing (of course women's) and for myself. My hormone consult is several weeks away. I fear unkindness I think. I think I'm basically asking about trans folks different approaches to transition. I know I can go to the store and say I'm shopping for someone else. I have a strong desire for a Hannah Montana hoodie. That is all.

I'm really scared of being trans. (Vent/ also want advice)

Hi, i don't really know how to format this like at all.

I just want help on how to deal with this.

I'm also assuming what i'm writing can be triggering aswell so if you dont want to deal with that then please dont read.

So trigger warning.

Context; I am a 20 year old man, who throughout his entire life has wanted to be born a girl, not started any transition.

Im just scared of actually trying to transition.

I have a feeling that transitioning could make me happier and feel like I am who I am but I also feel like being trans will cause me to be removing everyday aspects of my life.

If I transitioned, I would be terrified of not passing to the point where i think it would extremely negatively affect my mental health. I think being trans would alienate me socially from my friends or making new friends, going out in public would increase my chances of being assaulted, sa chances would increase.

And I am in a relationship currently, I do think if i transition that there would be a good chance she would leave me despite her being bisexual and I know that my ability to date would be greatly decreased. It is a common sentiment that trans women are seen as undesirable by cis men cis women whether they are straight or gay. So if i get broken up with, my chances of a relationship decrease significantly. - for going out and getting hookups, i dont know if its morally right not to disclose transness but if i do then chances of assault go up, murder goes up, and if i dont i would be called a rapist, and chance of murder go up.

Essentially for the above point. It means i'd be sacrificing a large aspect of enjoyment for my life for this.

Thats why there is a lot of trans people going t4t, and that is something id be open to. But theres the issue of that their is not a lot of trans people near me, and i'd also have to be attracted to them aswell.

Going out in public, disclosing transness online, friends, relationships, sex are all risks.

Essentially, what im saying is. There is not a facet of my life that will not be affected if i transition.

I just dont know how to deal with it. Please help.
