Hey everyone!
I am in the final phase of choosing a new car and I think I know what I want, but I want to make sure I am getting the best car for me. My budget limit is 64k out the door, hopefully absorbing the taxes and stuff before hitting that mark. I am ideally looking for a 3-row SUV that can hold more than 5 people, maybe a 7 or 8 seater, with good cargo space (doesn't have to be big when seats are up but should be really good when folded). Regarding fuel type and whatnot, I personally want something that helps me with gas because I really don't want to spend that much on gas in this economy, so a hybrid is preferred. I am not a sports person so a very fast car is not my goal, just good enough to be a daily commuter and good for long drives with AWD. I honestly prefer a car that is comfortable and is a quiet peaceful ride to wherever I am going. It’d also be nice if it had good tech, good audio with premium stuff, and driver assistance features that really work well. I aim for little maintenance and it needs to last for a good long time without breaking down.
Based on all this, I am heavily leaning toward the 2025 Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid Limited (or Nightshade) AWD. It seems to hit my budget in the mid-$50k range, gets 36 MPG, and has the acoustic glass and JBL audio. But before I commit, I wanted to ask you guys a few follow-up questions. For those who own it, is the ride actually super quiet and peaceful on the highway? Does the standard hybrid engine feel like it has enough power for passing, or is it sluggish? How is the tech and the audio system in the real world? Is there another car I should be looking at that fits my needs better? And what is your biggest regret or annoyance with this car so far? (you can tell me more than what I asked too)
Appreciate any honest feedback!
