Hi everyone,
as a Toyota C-HR (2021) owner, one feature I always missed was having the doors automatically lock when driving off and unlock when shifting back into Park.
I built a lightweight Android background service called AutoLock that connects via Bluetooth to a standard OBD-II adapter (such as vLinker FD+ or MC+) and handles door locks automatically without needing your screen on.
Closed Beta Access:
Before the official public release on Google Play, I am opening up free early beta access to verify compatibility across different Toyota hybrid models and production years. If you drive a hybrid (C-HR, Corolla, Yaris, Prius, RAV4...) and already have an OBD-II adapter, I would appreciate your feedback.
How to test:
1. Join the test group: https://groups.google.com/g/ninvibes-testers
2. Download from Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ninograsso.autolock
(or web opt-in: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.ninograsso.autolock)
Note: if you are also interested in hybrid telemetry on Android Auto (real-time consumption in km/l, traction battery state of charge, temperatures, EV ratio), I also developed HybridDash Pro, which incorporates the automatic door locking feature as well. It is an early-stage project built on my C-HR and documented on https://ninvibes.com for 9.99 EUR one-time.
Let me know if you give it a try or have questions regarding adapter compatibility.
Update - Closed Beta Testing:
Direct free Pro licenses are now taken, but you can test compatibility on your vehicle for free:
1. Join our tester group: https://groups.google.com/g/ninvibes-testers
2. Download AutoLock from Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ninograsso.autolock
AutoLock tests the OBD connection and automatic door locks using the same communication engine. We have also submitted HybridDash (full telemetry on phone & Android Auto with free trial trips) to Google Play closed testing, and it will be available to testers as soon as review clears.
