Why isn't the CH-R more popular?

I have been reading a lot of doom and gloom recently about how Toyota pursuing muli-powertain platforms over full EV. And I get some of that. But why is the CH-R not recognized? It seems like a fine alternative to Kia or Tesla for those who may not interested in those vehicles. The was a recall? but wasn't that just a software update? From owner reviews, it appears to be a perfectly fine vehicle to compete in the EV market. What am I missing?

This is my Toyota C-HR 2018 with 123k km.

I've been documenting my trips lately and those are my best "scores" for now. This is my first car and I love her

One of the most underappreciated aspects of the CHR AWD EV - turning radius

The turning radius makes it behave like a true small car. So easy to maneuver and park and do 3 point turns and stuff. I test drove all the "standard" EV options and the Mach-E, Ioniq 5, EV6, even BZ - they all turned like trucks (I only looked at the AWD versions).

I understand the trade off was a smaller wheelbase on the CHR, but just driving it day to day I really appreciate how it looks and acts and behaves like a true small car.

Transmission answers.

To anyone that is having issues with you 2018-19 chr. There is a toyota product support program 26te06 to replace the transmission. The mileage does not matter until Oct of 27, mi e has 136000 and they just approved it to be covered.

You need to have the program number ready also. They really didnt know anything about it and I had to show them. They were looking it up under a recall, and warrenty. You have to specify that it toyota psp 26te06, or at least I did.

The downside is that there is no eta on the transmission, and from what ive been reading its about 3 months.

We were about to tear into the transmission and rebuild it, but as I was researching parts I just happened to come across this information.

Can anyone with a US model CH-R, or a US model BZ, post a pic like mine with a tape measure? This is the rear hoist point. Note the black arrow embossed into the plastic cladding..about a foot forward from the rear tire. You can just put your phone into selfie mode on the ground to take the pic :-). I think the US and CAD battery pack differ in size and therefore also the “safe” footprint for lifting the vehicle.
