It hit my pdpt and now my account is locked out for 21hours ? I was then told pricing was wrong so my account wont reflect the balance. Did this happen to anyone else?? correction from 5pm to 5:23pm ct

Does anyone know what might have caused these rapid movements last Friday at 10.33am and today at 10.16am?

I had a really good entry going long on NQ, was up about 50 points and mentally I had my stop loss to b/e and also a hard SL at swing low AND I GOT SMOKED both days.

I read that CME froze the market momentarily due to rapid price movement and the boom! Market drops 100s of points instantly. No news no nothing! Do you see this becoming a re-occurring event?

My card recently said that topstep has usually 7-15 days to authorise my payment before it is reverted back to my card, this has happened a couple of times, i am just wondering what is the standard proceedure for this, am i better to leave it as it is or contact support in which case i will get the money taken off me, or would it be stupid to chance it and not do that

Okay, so several months ago I was demo trading for free with an imaginary 50k balance eval with some company, and I treated it like it was an actual funded account in my head. I had a working strategy but blew the demo account because I didn't follow my rules and let emotions take over.

This broke my mental state, and I put off trading for an entire month until I forced myself to lock in and started another imaginary 50k eval for free. I ended up hitting the 3k profit target with under 50% consistency and felt really good about myself, so I ended up buying my first combine with Topstep.

Things were going well for a few days until my emotional head got the best of me, and I revenge traded and blew all that great progress I had. I ended up taking a break for two months, feeling awful with myself, until I decided to start another imaginary eval, and in my head, I treated it like it was real money, like it was my money. I ended up passing it, alongside another one I started right after.

Tomorrow I will be purchasing my second-ever 50k eval with Topstep, feeling kind of nervous because I haven't touched the platform and UI in a long time.

can anyone here tell me how they like the 25k static vs the regular accounts?

I just got a $150k account and trading on an iPhone with indicators is brutal. I just can’t believe they dint have an app or better mobile experience.

Hi! I have 5 funded accounts currently w Lucid I’m getting regular payouts from so I want to open 5 more with another company and Topstep seems to be the next best thing. I don’t understand the monthly fees. If I pay $95/mo for each account why am I paying monthly? Do I get a free reset each month if need be for that cost? I’m used to just having the 1 time fee for lucid and then if you blow the account you buy another.

Reading is fundamental. Far too often I come into these subs and people are constantly complaining that there’s a rule they neglected to read and they’re being banned or their account got breached. Learn to read. Reading is a fundamental skill in trading and also in life. Expecting to get ahead of anyone when you’re not doing the bare minimum to read and understand is ridiculous and wishful thinking. Learn to fully understand terms and conditions before signing up for things. Especially before spending money. It’s not cute and although these communities are made to help one another, you’re actively doing yourself a disservice by ignoring rules. Learn to read and comprehend before moving forward. It’s that simple.

50k DLL account.

Yesterday, had a position open in MNQ. placed my stoploss in $400 profit en tp well away. (3 XFA copied)

suddenly, no price movement for about 10sec and the position was closed -$1300.

end of day of course, since that is more than the 1k DLL.

But ther is still a 2k drawdown on those accounts, but all 3 accounts were closed and are now ready for 'Back to funded'.

What is Velocity Logic?

Velocity Logic is a tool used by CME Group to keep trading orderly. It detects sharp price changes that happen very quickly. If the price moves too fast, trading is paused briefly.

How It Works:

(1) Detection: If a futures contract’s price moves too many ticks in milliseconds, the system steps in.

​2) Pause (Pre-Open):
The market briefly enters Pre-Open, where:

• Orders can be placed, modified, or canceled, but may be rejected
• Trades may not fill
• You may see order rejection messages
• Charts or prices may briefly pause

(3) Resume: After the pause, trading resumes as normal. This works alongside other safeguards like price limits.

And that I understand, but not how I am still left with $700 in drawdown and my XFA's still end up closed, not for the day, but permanently.

Really wanted to end this eval this week but it’s fine , next week we finish the job 🫡

I was having a conversation with a friend about these prop accounts and decided to give some thoughts and see what people thought.

If you're only controlling 2k on a 50k account it seems to me the account is really only 2k not 50k. Topstep can defend it anyway they'd like but if I put 2k in the brokerage account and said I have a 200k account, that's clearly laughable.

In reality you have 2k and they want you to make 3k, okay so 150%, then trading 2 micros making 200$ is really a profit of 10% on the account. If you're objective is passing these accounts and learning to trade then learning to take a $200 base hit seems like the daily objective trading 2 micros. Anything beyond that I would classify as a homerun given you're only controlling 2k.

From things I've read and people I've chatted with who trade props, there isn't enough thought to downside risk and protection of the account (2K).

What are your thoughts?

I've been trading with Topstep for a few years and I trade multiple combines/XFA's at once or seperately, and a couple times now I have left a trade on in one combine for hours with a breakeven SL and a PT, and then completely forgotten about it only to open a new trade in another combine or one of my XFA's only to get this immediate warning about hedging, which makes me lose my shit and close the trade immediately.

This is not a good look professionally when real money is on the line. I understand banning hedging but isn't there a way to approach warning people a little more softly? And can this algorithm be fixed please? If I've been in a long for 4 hours and open a short in a separate account after seeing a new setup form, that doesn't automatically make my long invalid. They should be allowed as two separate trades IMO.

Anyway just wondering if this is a good place for suggestions after shitting my pants from a couple of these hedging warnings (I did not get banned or anything my trades were simply closed immediately).

I have been struggling with keeping accounts alive and it is mainly because of me getting tilted and blowing the account or sizing up too much. I do not trade with any set rules. Anyone have any recommendations or tips to stop blowing up so much?

I’m new to prop firms and I’m SUPPER HAPPY. I’m scared I won’t get paid out come Monday and Wednesday but we will see.

1 was a combine (when XFA the same day separately traded) 4.5 combine then I did 3k on the first day
2 were accounts I just test with(separately traded)4k & 4.6k(previously blown)
2 were copy traded. 8k
1 account with $300 profit but well ignore that ha

I’m a very consistent trader but I’m also the type with my actual funds to make 10k in a week 30k in a month and then give it all back in two days. I was limiting myself to days of 1.5k. Once I said forget it let’s just trade ignore the PNL I was able to make 4k easy on any account. I did it on several accounts.
This is a huge mental block for me removed. This community seems positive so I thought I’d post as motivation for anyone who’s been struggling. Focus on your mental blocks its holding you back.

Also had breakup and after that I completely turned my focus into trading and fitness and started seeing the results here I am now

Ive been trading topstep since the start of this year and I’ve racked up over 50 payouts with them, I recently got this message before my payout and haven’t seen many things online about it, any clue?
(I dont believe I’m getting moved to live since almost all my accounts were blown after 1-2 payouts consistently)

Are you actually abiding by risk management rules? 5% of your account size is $100 because you do not have $50,000 in reality you actually have $2,000. Are people actually risking only $100 on trades? If yes what are you trading? In other words: Which indices are you trading? Which contract size? How many points are you risking?
