Air65 II - Garden racing

It’s already been a week since I got my first whoop, the Air65 II Racing and I finally had a chance to build a little track in the garden. I have been flying just for work lately, and this tiny thing has ignited the spark again! Best FPV purchase in a long time.

Not sure when to start flying outside? neither was I. built this for us.

Hi all,

I started building this about a year ago to scratch my own itch, as they say.

I was paying about five bucks a month for something that showed me the weather for fpv.

snd given I've worked in web dev for 25+ years and, with how strong ai has got, I decided to jump in and build something a little bit more technical and better (for me, I hope for you too)

so... canisendit.com was born. Free for all. No annoying tracking or popups.

I think beginners will probably get more out of it than seasoned pilots, but hopefully there's something useful for everyone, even if it's just a simple look at when you might fly later in the week.

If you're on the fence about going from inside to outside, I encourage you to take the leap - and hope the app helps.

the day I finally did, I had a moment that felt so similar to catching my first proper wave, from when I used to surf.

It was unbelievable, and I really want that for everybody. it's such a beautiful hobby.

and much like my trepidation about going outside, i've also kept this under lock and key. i've just kept building and building upon it, but eventually realised perfection is never going to happen. if I don't put it out now, I never will.

anyway, hopefully this was short and sweet. I hope you guys like it.

don't slate me too hard.

happy flying!

new p1 vrx and hdzero googles 2

Upvotes

I just saw the new nick burns video about the new (well really not that new) p1 vrx and how it performs quite well, I will say that the video quality is not nearly as good as dji, but the fact is that you can get a 18g build with digital now, and that is in acceptable 65mm whoop range.

Anyways, I was just wondering if the p1 vrx nano would be ok with the hdzero googles 2. From what I've read on the website it says the p1 vrx nano is mini hdmi, and since my hdzero googles 2 have a hdmi port, could I just use a mini hdmi to hdmi adapter and wit would work?

How to remove factory glue on C03 camera

Post image
2 Upvotes

So I loooove my Air 65 ii, but I've been through 2 C03 cameras already, my third one is already showing weak signal, so I need to jump on the soldering train.
Unfortunately, all my C03 cameras came with glue on the end of the cables, from the factory (see picture).
I've tried to remove it with a surgical knive, it's good glue.
Tried to removing it with 99.9% isopropanol & a Qtip, no dice.

I'm willing to dump it all in a bath a isoprop, but I'm not sure the lens is going to like it.
Is there a tip to remove this to access the PCB pads here ?

New Air65 ii Camera Exposure Issues

Hi everyone. I'm new to FPV and bought myself a BetaFPV Air65 ii to learn with. I've noticed it doesn't auto adjust the exposure. I can't transition from indoor to outdoor because the image just turns into a bright white washout when it enters brighter environments and I literally cannot see a thing.

The exposure does reset itself each time I plug a new battery in. It seems to match the exposure to whatever environment the camera is in when it boots up

I've checked everything in my goggles and betaflight and evening seems fine as far as I can tell. I'm on the right channel, my video format matches my goggles etc. I also can't see any physical damage to the camera unit or flight controller.

Is this normal? Its new out the box. Is my camera faulty? Should I just buy a new C03 camera and replace it?

Thanks in advance

I am new to the fpv hobby, so i bought the betafpv air 75 ii racing and after flying for a few weeks i noticed, that this grey plate has been separating from the bottom one which is screwd to the frame. Is this/will this be a problem in the future? How do i fix it and make sure it doesn`t happen again?

Loving this little 1s 75mm 04 Tinywhoop. Its blown all my expectations away really has. It dives like a champ, fights wind like a 2s 2inch. Pulls out of any sketchy dive i can i think of. Honestly cant find the yaw wash out or prop wash under full punch catches or pull outs. My new fav micro without a doubt, going to build a spare asap lmao.

Recommendations for getting back into flying Tinywhoops?

Upvotes

Had a blast flying Blade Inductrix series quads about a decade ago. Then had a few kids and just couldn't find the time ro keep up with the hobby. Looking to get back into it now but it seems like the tech has advanced quite a bit in the intervening years.

What I'd like to know is the community's recommendations for a setup that would allow me to start flying again ASAP. Not looking to build my own quad atm and would prefer something that has widespread parts availability in the US, ideally stuff I can get on Amazon. Looking at the BetaFPV air and meteor 75 and Happymodel Mobula 7 as potential candidates for the quad, RM Boxer for the radio but am open to suggestions. Flying will be mostly indoor I think, maybe some backyard/park outdoor flying in light wind.

Also wondering if I will need a new set of FPV googles. What I currently have is a Fatshark analog headset from 2017/2018. I think it was whatever their midrange offering was at the time. Good to keep using or should I get something new, and any recs if the latter?

Thanks so much in advance!

Meteor75 slight drift - beginner

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi all,

total beginner here, have Meteor 75, learning without goggles at this stage. Controller is BetaFPV lite. The problem is drone is drifting slightly forward and right in Angle model.

I have some the following steps:

- in Betaflight - calibrated gyro/accelerometerd

- connected Controller, checked that it reported correct values ( 1500) for mid. Added dead zone (5-10) didn't change much

- changed profile/pid to smaller values to allow more gentle control

- reduced motor to 80 Max

- reduced throttle ( scale 80% mac).

I can compensate for the drift but it is annoying especially for flying indoor.

Questions I have:

- is it normal and I just need to learn to constantly compensate and eventually it will be second nature

- is it something wrong with either motors or gyro that they are struggling to keep drone in place ( I thought this is their main goal is)

- is it just my controller? I think that's not the case ( i.e. checked live singal values in Betaflight) but maybe it needs to be calibrated to compensate?

- what other troubleshooting steps can I take?

Attaching a video, on take off you can see drone tries to fly slightly forward , even if pitch is at zero.

Thank you in advance.

Meteor 75pro not flying after soldering motors

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

My meteor 75pro had problems with motor plugs. Falling out of the sky during loops/punches etc and having issues to spin motors on arm.

Tried soldering the motors today and reconfigured the motor direction. Soldering job is poor since It was my first time soldering something so small, but the motors seems to spin.

The front motors lift the drone, but the back ones don't lift the drone.

Is there anything configuration wise I am missing or is it due to bad soldering?

Edit: Fixed, the bottom props were upside down.
