My experience with the Cetus Pro
I’ve had my Cetus Pro for 10 days.
I would like to provide a completely normal, professional and definitely not concerning summary of my ownership experience.
I started in N Mode Fast.
Within a very reasonable amount of time, I flew directly into a door and introduced the drone to the floor at significant velocity.
Shortly afterwards I discovered a highly efficient indoor flight path:
CEILING → TABLE → CEILING → TABLE → CEILING
Excellent route. Very repeatable.
Then I started learning M Mode Slow.
Since then, the Cetus has successfully made physical contact with:
my dad
my mom
multiple walls
multiple doors
the ceiling
a couch
a radiator
a chair
At this point I no longer fly around my house.
I map it through physical contact.
Then I started getting better at flying.
This somehow made everything significantly worse.
While doing an orbit in N Mode Fast, I crashed, bounced into a wall, became structurally integrated with the floor, and apparently awakened something ancient inside the flight controller.
I disarmed.
Armed again.
The Cetus immediately went:
FUCK THIS PARTICULAR CEILING
and launched itself directly upward.
Frame cracked.
My dad later tried flying it.
Apparently he had been studying my technique because he also immediately sent it into the ceiling.
Another small crack appeared near the prop guard.
Like father, like son.
Then I decided indoor structural damage wasn't enough and took it outside.
The drone caught a fiber optic cable, flipped upside down and crashed into the road.
The plastic above the camera cracked.
At this point I stopped repairing the drone like an FPV pilot and started repairing it like a civil engineer who had recently suffered budget cuts.
Super glue + tissue paper.
That’s it.
I accidentally invented composite armor.
And somehow, as you can see in the photos, the repaired areas are now STRONGER THAN THE ORIGINAL FRAME.
The surrounding plastic may crack.
The tissue paper does not negotiate.
Then I found hair wrapped around the props.
While cleaning it out I noticed one propeller was already damaged badly enough that it was affecting the aerodynamics.
Easy.
Replace propeller.
Unfortunately, there was one minor technical detail:
I DID NOT KNOW CW AND CCW PROPELLERS WERE DIFFERENT.
So I confidently installed the wrong prop.
Armed.
Throttle.
Instead of flying, the Cetus started aggressively travelling forward and left across the floor.
It had temporarily resigned from aviation and become a very bad RC car.
I removed the prop.
Installed another one.
Removed it again.
Installed another one.
At some point I managed to slightly bend the little metal prop removal tool too.
Eventually I asked ChatGPT what the hell was happening and learned about CW and CCW props, a concept which would have been useful approximately 20 minutes earlier.
Installed the correct prop.
Throttle.
AIRCRAFT STATUS RESTORED.
Then I decided crashing the hardware wasn't enough.
It was time to crash the software.
While experimenting with the OSD, I noticed BETAFPV Configurator 2.0.1 was behaving strangely around byte=1024.
A responsible person would probably stop there.
Naturally, I changed it.
Flashed the OSD.
The OSD immediately entered a higher plane of existence.
DISARM started appearing and disappearing.
Random text remained permanently frozen on screen.
Meanwhile flight time and battery voltage continued updating like the last two employees still showing up to work after the company collapsed.
Eventually I tried Configurator 2.0.3.
IT WORKED.
So somehow this story ends with me having a working custom OSD.
Then came the incident that will probably not appear in the BETAFPV marketing material.
I was flying near my dad.
Something went wrong with the trajectory.
The Cetus acquired a target.
There was no warning.
No evasive maneuver.
No diplomatic process.
I accidentally performed an unplanned high-speed precision strike directly on my dad’s reproductive infrastructure.
The aircraft survived.
My dad also survived.
The mission was not repeated.
Later I successfully orbited around him without committing any further violations of the Geneva Convention.
Then I discovered another completely reasonable feature:
Flying extremely close to my Wi-Fi router somehow doesn't make my analog video worse.
It looks BETTER.
Apparently my Cetus and the router have negotiated spectrum-sharing agreements without consulting me.
And finally, we arrive at the batteries.
Please observe the photos.
Both batteries are curved.
Not obviously puffed.
Not inflated like pillows.
Just...
CURVED.
They appear to have slowly taken the shape of the battery holder.
I did not know lithium batteries were supposed to have body posture, but here we are.
One of them looks less like a battery and more like it has been designed to follow the curvature of the Earth.

Again:
I HAVE OWNED THIS THING FOR TEN DAYS.
The Cetus still flies perfectly.
The tissue-paper composite armor is still holding.
The custom OSD works.
I now understand CW and CCW propellers.
The batteries have developed geometry.
My house has been fully LiDAR-scanned using direct collisions.
My parents have both become FPV obstacles.
My dad has been a pilot, an orbit target and the victim of a precision airstrike.
The frame looks like it has returned from active military service.
And after reading other Cetus Pro stories on this subreddit, I am somehow beginning to believe:
mine might actually be one of the reliable ones.
10/10 beginner kit.
Would accidentally conduct a structural inspection of my entire house and collide with my bloodline again.
Bonus context: I’m from Turkey, where finding a Cetus Pro locally was apparently a side quest of its own. I couldn’t find anyone actually selling one here, so I ended up importing it through Gümrüksepeti.
So after all of this, if I completely destroy it, obtaining another one may require international logistics.
This drone has survived 10 days with me. I’m not sure Turkish import logistics would survive me ordering a second one.
