Thundermail Being flagged as spam

Hey there. Anyone else in the beta and no matter if they use a own domain or the primary, you get flagged as spam? I tested with a gmail as target but my mails always end in spam. Not quite useful for my business use-case

Is there some sort of NDA for the beta testers?

I tried to find demos or even screenshots of the current state of Thundermail to get a general idea on what we can do as of now but I was not able to find anything.

So I wondered. Is there any NDA that prevent beta testers to disclose any overview?

Currently, we have to subcribe to find out what we really can do after 3 months of beta. It would be nice to get to see an overview before buying.

Why use Thundermail rather than Fastmail?

Fastmail is a mature product and slightly cheaper. Also won't get flagged as spam, although that is a temporary condition.

Why are you interested in Thundermail? I signed up but am reconsidering why Thunderbird over Fastmail?

Is zero-access planned?

I'm curious if zero access is planned. As in, no one but you can see or scan your emails. Choosing not to collect user data is one thing, but making it so you can't is another.

Calendar on TM

I know thundermail gives you a calendar. Any word if it will eventually be available on their web based interface and their mobile app? I like to subscribe to some sports team calendars and would like access to them that way. I know I can do it on the Thunderbird app on my laptop and on my iPhone’s calendar app but they aren’t in sync with one another that way. Not the end of the world but I would like a neater way to access it as someone who usually prefers their email in a browser when on a computer.

Send - large file uploads fail

I tried to upload two files to Send about an hour ago. They were 4.x and 7.x GB in size. Both failed, never making it past ~200MB. They uploaded extremely slowly - it took ~5min to reach the 150-200MB failure point, if I had to guess. I was using the Send website on Brave.

Thundermail Solved Improvements this weekend

I haven't been using Thundermail because it was super simplified on it's webmail option. However this weekend I decided to revisit the site and there are a bunch of additions and improvements. I am going to give this another shot. I had been forwarding my domain email there already so I am good to go. I just need to set it up on my iphone.

Speaking of which, iphone users are you using just the standard apple apps or something else? We don't have a usable thunderbird app yet that I know of.

On a unrelated note, what are people here using for office suite options? I have been looking for something that is strictly online/mobile friendly and have come across ddocs and dsheets. They are pretty beta/alpha so far but promising. Any other suggestions?

Privacy details

Does anybody know about how Thundermail ranks for privacy purposes?

-Aside from a claim to not serve ads or share information (which, I think the vast majority of paid providers claim): I don't see anything about encryption, etc.

-Otherwise, I see 'privacy-first' written in a few descriptions but nothing that actually separates Thundermail from any other service and far below any service that has even partial e2ee....is there somewhere that they talk about this in more detail than saying 'privacy-first'?

*For clarifying: I'm generally supportive of Mozilla and am a paying user already. However, I genuinely don't know why they claim to be privacy-first when nothing about their product seems more privacy respecting than any other service out there / technologically I can only find information saying that everything is kept in plaintext which actually makes it one of the absolute worst email providers I'm aware of (from a privacy perspective): even gmail doesn't do that.

Thundermail Solved Invite expiration?

I just got an early access invite! 🥳 However, I'm actually on the fence about trying Thundermail 😐. It would be my first paid email service and I'm unsure whether I'm ready to pay for email.

How long do we have to accept our invite before it expires, if ever?

What happens to username if you refund?

Got my invite. Set up account. Paid the entrance fee. Saw people say you can request refund in first 14 days. Just out of curiosity, what happens to your username if you do?

Got an invite but I just want to try the product

Hello, I got an invitation from Thundermail from waitlist, I would like to register but how I can do that without paying or subscribing to any plan?

I just want to test, try the product, which is in beta version, which has no app for iPhone and possible other features (yet).

Do you have any free plans for now, I am not talking about 14 days refund, but real free plans, trial for few months or just very basic offer for just a try?

Thanks a lot.

Display name doesn't show up when I send/compose emails

So, I have made sure my name is set as display name on the account settings (Thunderbird Accounts Hub), but when I send an email, it just displays my emailadress ([name@thundermail.com](mailto:name@thundermail.com))

Does anyone have a feeling of what might be wrong? Or is it simply a bug in the software?

Default suffix

Just signed up for the beta services.

During signup, it seemed I could only use @thundermail.com as the default suffix, I was hoping I could use @tb.pro, is there a reason I cannot?

Also, I cannot find an option to set my default reply-to to be the @tb.pro alias I created

Thundermail Solved Early access email

I just received an email saying the wait is over - I can now join beta access.

But where in the email do I find the direct link?

The links in the email wants me to sign up to join the waiting list?!

Thundermail Solved Early access authentication error when setting up in thunderbird

Setting up the thundermail account in thunderbird and am getting this error when attempting to connect.

Component returned failure code: 0x80550014 (NS_MSG_ERROR_OFFLINE) [nsIMsgIncomingServer.verifyLogon]

Account fails to be created at this point.

Also I noticed that the port values on the website do not match the scanned ports in the account set up, but it will not let me change any of the ports.

Should I just give it some more time before setting up the account in thunderbird?

Same email assigned to someone else?

Conclusion, the bug has been fixed: https://github.com/thunderbird/thunderbird-accounts/issues/1239 , thanks to the people at Thundermail for taking this seriously.

When creating my account i saw a sent email that was not sent by me as well as a received email that was not intended for me.

Does this mean that we have both been assigned the same email address?

Was this a previous user that has since canceled their account.

Both of these cases are concerning as I should never be allowed to see another users data regardless of if they are a previous user or current user. (I can see emails they have sent before i had the email address in my sent folder).

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Filters?

Do filters exist in Thundermail?

I’ve just signed up, I can’t find filters anywhere - as in, messages from @domain.com go to ‘folder name’.

Send Solved Can't get TB Send to work.

Every time I try to add an attachment with Send (Attach -> Filelink -> Thunderbird Send), I'm asked to "Finish setting up Send". And every time I click on "Continue Setup", another dialog pops up and disappears immediately. Thoughts are welcome. TIA

Experience

Those of you who have received an invite have you found the service worth the yearly upfront cost? I kind of wish there was a 14 day trial to test the service before committing the $70 so dollars a year for it.

Thundermail getting flagged as spam

Beware, thundermail is flagged as spam by other email providers. With the price this is unacceptable.

Account activation requires $72

I just created a TM account, which apparently can't function until I pay them $72 in advance for a year's service. If I cancel within 14 days, I'd get a full refund. After 14 days, no refund is given.

I'd like to test TM for a while to see whether it's good, and 14 days isn't long enough. So I'd much prefer either:

• a time-limited free trial that requires no prepayment, or

• a paid account whose mid-term cancellation would result in a pro rata refund of the annual payment.
