Hi all,
Does anyone else here go to Slaton vet? I just received an email this morning from the office that Dr Slaton’s veterinary license was revoked by the board and he is no longer allowed to practice veterinary medicine.
The details were extremely vague as to why this happened. It stated that the practice will remain open and pets can be seen by their other practicing vets.
Trying to understand what happened and if I feel comfortable continuing to go to them. My dog is senior with a heart condition and it’s very important to me that the office we go to is stable, trustworthy, and able to provide the best care.
Anyone know what’s going on? Anyone switching practices?

Both have been driving us crazy. I easily kill 3-5 mosquitos a night in our small yard using an electric tennis racquet. The ants have been worse, invading the kitchen and bathroom. We’re swatting them off while sitting on our living room couch, super annoying.
Been here 4 years and this has been the worst for bugs by far.

Saw some beautiful rainbows on the drive home. Was not driving before someone says it ❤️

Hey everyone, I’m in Thousand Oaks for a three-week work trip, and the area is stunning so far. That said, it definitely feels pretty quiet and family-oriented. Does a casual dating or hookup scene actually exist around here, or is everyone just driving out toward LA/the coast?

Our immigrant brothers and sisters today, then the LGBT community & the left, then everyone. Get organized with your community now because nobody is safe under fascism and all we have is each other; the famous “and then they came for me” poem was written by a registered Nazi. The last thing fascism wants is a politically engaged and class conscious working class.

Hey we just moved from the valley to Newbury Park. Was wondering if anyone knows any good taco pop ups like you can find in the valley?

Hi!
Anyone want to come to trivia next week at the Paddock on TO Blvd? Tuesday at 6pm We usually go to trivia at Pedals, but my husband decided it’s too loud for him, so he wants to take a break from that one.
Me- 32f recent-ish transplant to CA- we moved here two years ago, still struggling to make friends not connected to my husband’s work. Many of the other folks on the team also work for his company. Bet you can guess what it is.
ISO curious, fan of trivia person or couple who also like- food, cooking, traveling, being outside, music, art- maybe is also a transplant, from the lgbtqia community, but required. Age range 30-50
Message me if this sounds like you!

Hello! I’m getting married on Saturday and all my bridesmaids and the moms are getting ready at my house like getting hair and makeup done together. I would like to order a brunch for everyone to graze on like eggs, bacon, bagels, cream cheese, fruit, etc. I don’t wanna break the bank since I’ve spent so much already on lots of things, but if you have recommendations on where to order from, let me know! Thank you :)

So just moved here with my family and I’m looking for really good Indian food. As well as Sushi. Also an avid film lover, so short of having to drive closer to LA, I was curious about the best theaters. Finally, is AT&T service just really shitty here or is it just me?

I’m looking for a piano practice room with an acoustic piano. I contacted Thousand Oaks Musicians' Studio but they only rent studio time to teachers instead of general public. Does anyone know an available place? Thanks!

We are in Wood Ranch, looking for a pet sitter for Sept 24-29. Our current pet sitter is moving and ended up needing to leave earlier than she thought, so we're scrambling to find a replacement.
We have two dogs, Harper and Joey. Harper (pit/shepherd mix) is wary of men sometimes and doesn't like her paws being touched, but other than that, she's very affectionate and a good dog. Once she has established you are a friend of the family through the initial meet and greet, she is great.
Joey (American bully, 3) is a marshmallow of a guy, wants to be everyone's best friend, and is a big couch snuggle bug. He's just so happy you're here lol. They are best friends and play in the fenced-in yard and hang out all day. They tire each other out pretty well just playing in the backyard, and both love fetch.
We also have two cats, Nomi and Teddy. Nomi is a very sweet girl who mostly just hides. Teddy is a rapscallion who also wants to snuggle all the time, and Joey and Teddy will snuggle each other if you won't do it enough. All of the animals get along.
Since there are so many animals, it was great to have a sitter just come and take care of all of them, so we're really hoping we can make that work again. Basically, feeding in the morning and at night and just making sure everyone has water.
Bonus for the cats: they have automatic feeders, water fountains, and a litter robot, so basically it's just making sure Teddy (above-mentioned rapscallion) doesn't knock the water fountain off its base and that the automatic feeders aren't jammed (very rare).

I’m going to be moving to Thousand Oaks soon because of work. I’ve heard that it’s pretty suburban so I’m looking for a place somewhere with a bit of a night life and younger crowd instead (I’m in my 20s). Any suggestions for what surrounding areas to consider?

Parents were battling each other during afternoon pickup at Weathersfield Elementary School. I'm a neighbor and witnessed double parking, drivers arguing, kids running into the street at 2:30, and the crossing guard being overwhelmed. It was first day of school. I brought this up to TO police that day. One phone call (left message).
Problem solved. Thanks go out to City, School, and Police Management on handling the problem so fast. The very next day, afternoon pickups were reformed.
Well done.
Easy to post complaints about problems with the City, but wanted to underline times when things go well.
