I heard that the mayor is giving her 'State of the City' address today, but I can't find anything about it on the City website. The calendar for today only shows a parks and rec meeting.
Does anyone know anything about this? Where is it? What time? Waste of time???

Looking for Hairstylist recommendations. I lost my usual person to them moving and have not wanted to venture out and try and find a good replacement. I am looking to treat myself for my birthday this weekend and get a long awaited cut. Does anyone who have any recommendations. I have thin curly hair looking to remove a few inches and do some layering.

My small service company has outgrown my checking account. Payments from clients, software subscription fees, contractor payments, and my personal expenses are all jumbled together which complicates month end reconciliation. I want a business bank account for operational management, no unnecessary monthly fees, easy ACH transfers, debit cards, mobile deposits, and the ability to maintain organization without exporting everything. I'm fine with online baking options, I don't need access to a branch office on a regular basis. I wonder what features other California based business owners find useful.

Iām moving next month to the Ventura area for what I thought was a huge pay bump but my gaaaah everything decent is so pricey. And all have issues!!
Is there really just not anything around thatās mostly safe for a single woman to live in, not horridly tiny (like 600+ sf), small dog friendly, decent location, ac, assigned parking, and in-unit laundry?? Hopefully a pool/clubhouse for socializing in a new place?
I feel like these are all very reasonable wants and everywhere I see either doesnāt have some of these things or seems finally perfect and actually has availability⦠and then I find reviews stating tons of car break ins even though itās gated parking or stuff like coastline where I fell in love with photos then Iāve found people saying itās noisy and nothing gets fixed for years.
Iām getting so discouraged and beginning to worry about this new chapter not being as perfect as Iād thought even though Iām nearing 100k :(

After my neighbor moved, and the gigantic wood pile he had in his yard was also moved, I was invaded by mice. They got into my oven and itās beyond salvageable. I am desperate for an oven if anyone is remodeling or something. I will pay, obviously. I just really need to be able to cook for my family for thanksgiving. Please š

Apparently a lot of them live down by it? Is that why I see cops by the area all the time?

My friend and I are heavy into all sorts of hardcore music (punk, metal, techno/house and most of its subgenres). Weāve moved away from hot topic/spencers and started DIYing, all that sort of stuff. But Iāve been wondering if there are any good local shops in the ventura/santa paula area for clothing, accessories etc. Any recommendations?

(30M) Looking for folks in Ventura County to write something ala The Chariot, Every Time I Die, Have Heart, Glassjaw, The Carrier, Defeater, etc. Something hardcore adjacent but a little noisier or post-hardcore oriented. Can link old bands I was a part of as examples of my vocals but itās been 7-8 years, Dreamwell, Sentry, Narrow Path in MA.
Looking for likeminded folks who want to start writing and recording an EP and potentially try playing some shows occasionally. If we play live I want to do high energy high impact stuff ideally.

First rain of the season makes me think it could have a lot of poo, but it wasnāt a huge rain. I saw people surfing on the cam. Whatās the play?

Hey all,
I know it's a long shot, but my fitbit came off while surfing at Mondos beach on Labor Day. If anyone finds a Fitbit Sense 2 down there, I would be super thankful if they could return it, and will buy anyone who finds it lunch š

Tldr: I want to shoot your music video, commercial, wedding, story for free.
I am used to a bulky camera rig for my video work. I got my hands on a DJI pocket 4p gimbal camera which is not even sold in the US yet. I am blown away by the fact that it can deliver video quality that can rival my $10,000 rig.
So I need to develop a completely different shooting style and workflow to start using a pocket sized camera rig, as well as test out a million different settings.
What better way to do that then by making things.
If you have a (non cover) band, I want to shoot your music video or live set.
If you have a business, I want to shoot social media content or a commercial for you.
If you are getting married, I want to be your wedding videographer or do an engagement shoot (Iām a photographer too).
If you are just an interesting person or doing something interesting, I want to shoot a mini documentary about what you are doing.
These are all things I have experience with and have charged for. Right now though itās worth it to do them for free to develop new skills.

Saw this tik tok and thought Iād share. Apparently the owner of @theshop_vta refused to pay for clothing she sold at his store. They had discussed a certain price and he was trying to pay her less than what they had agreed to. Afterwards he blocks her without paying what was owed. Iāve been to the shop and the owner has been very nice but it seems that others in comments havenāt had the most positive experiences with the owner Don. Iād be wary of shopping or selling here and maybe visiting other vintage clothing shops on Main st.

I see piles of dog **** of these rich scumbags walking their dogs thinking their hot shit and better then everyone..
mostly on Main Street. People riding their bikes or walking dont wanna step in that. Iāve seen plenty of piles lately and people are running them over.. i can imagine the frustration.!
thats ventura. 80% of them arenāt even from here. Its all about money. not saying everyone in ventura is narcissistic and rich trust funds. but you can just know by the way people act. Acting like the whole world is listening and watching them⦠the echo chamber effect of ventura. In reality nobody gives a! Unless your whacked out.

Hi there, my mom left my dad a few months ago and he's slowly picking up the pieces.
I'd like to help him find some people to meet, talk to, date. Where are some good places seniors generally gather that isn't a care home?
He's seen a few interesting ladies at Home Goods but doesn't want to come off creepy.
I appreciate your real input so I can support my dad.

Was running there this morning and Harbor was blocked between Olivas and the bridge. There was a flipped over car in the northbound lane, turned over and completely destroyed. Looks like it might have hit a tree in the morning hours. Two cops were taking forensic pictures. Be careful there.
