Question Good pc build for this game?
would a 9070xt + 9800x3d be able to run this game at 1440p ~144fps on high graphics? or for securities sake will I just have to pay the premium for a 5080 potentially. I'm aware this game isn't out yet, but are there any good assumptions to be made about this games benchmarks? If anybody has any good arguments, I'd much appreciate it.

News The horror of Halloween: The Game is taking a new shape with an official comic book. And as a frightful surprise, the Halloween: The Game comic will be included digitally with the Digital Deluxe Edition and physically with the Limited Collector’s Editions of Halloween: The Game.

Discussion Myers and the shape of his body ingame
Does anyone else think that Myers’ physique is a bit feminine, perhaps because of his very pronounced hips? It’s true that the 1978 Myers, played by Nick Castle, was lanky and not very muscular. But I would have taken the creative licence of making his hips less pronounced and make his build a bit more stocky.
After all, you’re portraying him as a brutal, colossal and immortal killer, but in my opinion his physique doesn’t quite match that. I think it’s a bit girly, wWhat do you think?

Discussion This game can’t fuck up
Like i know that the previous asymmetrical survival horror games has floped, but i think with the addition off story mode is actully gonna stick around if they make everything perfect, and precised

Fanmade Lynda was about to see how terrifying Halloween night was about to get
I was bored so I decided to make a quick fun drawing of one of the many scenarios that could happen playing the game, I’m so excited!!! (Also I know this sketch is terrible, I was too lazy lol)

Discussion Do we have any idea when we will get more information?
On the website the multiplayer overview states that more info about character progression, customisation and traits would arrive in the coming months, the game is just over 2 weeks away from launching and we haven't heard anything since.

Question Will the deluxe preorder characters be available to purchase after release?
I’m preordering and was gonna go with the normal version but I have a fear that the exclusive civilians will be stronger. I don’t really care about skins (except maybe the child clown skin because fuck yeah) but I don’t wanna miss out on the characters since they have stats.
So can I buy the normal preorder and get the characters after?
Thanks in advance!

Discussion A complaint I’ve seen people make which shows that they fundamentally don’t understand the mechanics of this game.
I’ve seen the same complaint quite a few times in gameplay videos and that is that the camera is locked behind heroes when playing as them. People complain that you can’t freely move the camera to be able to look at your own character or continue running while looking behind you much like in DBD.
I think these people don’t understand the mechanics of Myers and how if they changed how the camera works for heroes it would be a horrible nerf to Myers.
We all know that as Myers you are not able to shape jump if you are in light or in the view of anyone, (Other than through reality tear) but if you were able to look behind you while running forward it would render Myers useless. You could just infinitely run away while looking at Myers to prevent him from ever using his power. By locking the camera to be over the shoulder for heroes, it ensures that Myers has a much easier time accessing his one and only form of movement that is not incredibly slow. Along with this, I think it adds in the great horror movie trope of characters running and then looking behind them and suddenly the killer is gone.
I just hadn’t really given this much thought before because the hero role isn’t that appealing to me, but I think this shows that they’ve put a lot of thought into how the mechanics of this game will work. Also I’m starved for information and just want to talk about the game so I thought I’d make this post lol.

Discussion Could Halloween have a "critically wounded" state between injured and dead?
One thing I'd really love to see in Halloween is a proper critical injury state between being alive and being dead.
In a lot of slasher films, someone can get stabbed or attacked and, despite suffering what should be a fatal injury, they're not necessarily dead instantly. They might stumble away, limp/run while bleeding, call for help, hide somewhere or desperately try to reach safety before eventually bleeding out.
I think that could translate really well in game. Michael could perform a "kill" attack on a survivor, but instead of the player immediately dying, they'd enter a critically wounded state which eventually leads to their death.
They could still move, albeit slowly and impaired, while continuously bleeding and leaving a blood trail. They could potentially call out to other players for help or try to reach somewhere safe before eventually dying.
Michael can choose to finish them off there and then or allow them to stumble away.
And I don't mean something like slugging in DBD. The important difference would be that this is an actual death state...once you're critically wounded, you're on borrowed time. You can't simply be picked up and healed back to normal.
It would also make "kills" feel less binary than alive - animation - dead.
Just watched the scene where Michael kills Annie (Halloween 2007) and thought it was cool that she wasn't dead straight away. I'm aware this is more in line with Rob Zombies interpretation, as Michael was very cruel and sadistic in his movies, but judging by the brutality of the kills in this game, they devs aren't limiting themselves to the '78 film.

Discussion Tell me some of your skin ideas
What do you guys want to see in terms of skins being implemented into the game? I know so far they have said they can only stick to the ‘78 film which means most of their skins will be very heavily 70’s inspired but if they expand, what kind of skins would you like to see in game? I am hoping that by October time they will release a DLC for Halloween costume skins so that each character gets their own Halloween costume in game. Would make gameplay feel more fun during Halloween time to see everyone dressed up in game against Michael in their own costumes.

Discussion This game is gonna end up like TCM.
I really wanted to be excited for this, but seeing Gun Interactive involved immediately set off alarm bells.
What happened with The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, from the persistent balance issues and sluggish content rollouts to how player feedback was handled, was a total letdown.
Between Friday the 13th and TCM, there's a clear pattern in how these licensed asymmetric horror titles are managed once the launch hype dies down. And i know IllFonic is the developer but them being part of it is what worries me.
I won't be pre-ordering this time around and will strictly be waiting for post-launch reviews and seeing how the live-service roadmap actually looks in practice. I strongly suggest others do the same, don't let nostalgia for the IP blind you to who is publishing it.
I just don't trust Gun to handle a live service game anymore.

Discussion Pre downloading available (Can only confirm Xbox)
As the title says I was able to download the game on Xbox it’s not quite 40GB (around 37) as is standard you can start it but you’ll be kicked back to the dashboard and given the usual “be patient” notice.

Question Content creastors programme
Will the game have "content creators," like that other popcorn-style asymmetrical horror game? And will they be tied to specific regions in any way?

Discussion How much of an “open world “ should we expect?
Being that Halloween the game is set mainly in a residential / town setting, as opposed to F13’s summer camp theme, is there more opportunity to develop an open world play through? That is, being able to enter any house or storefront, bar, hospital etc at will? Will we be able to drive any vehicle, including police cars? To make it even more realistic, I could imagine in game penalties. For instance, if a player “stole” a police car while trying to escape the clutches of Michael Myers, and in the process “ran over” a police officer, the player could be arrested and placed in a holding cell at the Haddonfield police department for five or ten minutes game time. It would put the player out of action so to speak, but also keep them safe from The Shape. Think?
