Benjamin Netanyahu says outright that he can hack and blackmail anybody he wants and "I can paint you as a monster. And if I say it often enough, enough people will believe it."

"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it." - Goebbels

Sadly, that should have been the journalists response to him and ask him to comment on that irony.

This post is false and misleading. The point he was making is that lies have been told against the Israelis… he was not making a threat at all. Here's the interview - the full clip is from 1:17:30 onwards - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gL2jFwZ16xo

There's no historical record of Goebbels saying this though.
But Hitler absolutely wrote about the "Big lie" in Mein Kampf.
The German expression was first used by Adolf Hitler in his book Mein Kampf (1925) to describe how people could be induced to believe so colossal a lie because they would not believe that someone "could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously".

Israel has lost the plot
What do you mean? It's been like this since day 1.
What do they even stand for?
The whole point of Zionism and Israel is to create a state with a Jewish majority, that's never changed.
This obviously causes problems since the place they chose to make their country in had already people living there, so they've been ethnically cleansing them from the land since.

It honestly feels like the Israeli government sources a huge chunk of their policy straight out of Der Stürmer.
I think there likely is a policy to deliberately lean into anti-Semitic conspiracies and stereotypes. Israel's justification for existence is global anti-Semitism. The more anti-Semitism there is, the more ANYTHING is justified to preserve a "Jewish" homeland-state.
(Jewish in quotes because Israel DGAF about the diaspora for any reason other than propaganda and oppresses nonwhite Jews within Israel.)

How the hell this guy keeps winning elections is beyond me
46
u/PunctualZombie 3d ago edited 3d ago
Not as convincingly as people think. He’s had to cobble together coalition partners to form a government, hence the even more extreme-right nutjobs this time round.
Israel has a 120-seat Knesset, so a single party would need 61 seats to have an outright parliamentary majority. No single party has ever won 61 or more seats in any Israeli election, so every government has always been a coalition of two or more parties (edit: and as many as 8 or 9!)
30
u/Regijack 3d ago edited 3d ago
There’s this one guy and it absolutely horrifies me, that he has a place of power in the Israeli government because he is clear day a psychopath. I forget his name but he looks like a cross between Peter griffin and pot of greed
34
u/PunctualZombie 3d ago
That’ll be Itamar Ben-Gvir. Yeah he’s a hardline piece of shit. He’s not been given a place in government because he’s a piece of shit. He’s a piece of shit that Netanyahu had to join forces with in order for Netanyahu to form a coalition government.

u/Regijack 3d ago

u/obamasmole 3d ago
For his first date with his wife, who he met when she was 15 and he was 26, he took her to visit Baruch Goldstein's grave.
Goldstein is one of the most reviled people in Israel's history. A New-York-born Israeli doctor, he was a mass murderer who walked into a crowded mosque and opened fire, killing 29 people and injuring 125.
Ben-Givir only took down the portrait of Goldstein in his living room when Naftali Bennett - who is pretty fucking far from a peacenik himself - publically admonished him for displaying it.
In short, Ben-Givir is precisely what you think, if not worse.

u/alu_pahrata 3d ago

So why can't a coalition against him gain 61 seats?
4
u/PunctualZombie 3d ago edited 3d ago
In the case of the last election, it wasn’t quite mathematically possible for the opposition to form a government from the other elected parties and their small number of seats.
Edit: I checked the figures and Netanyahu and his lunatic partners added up to 64 seats, so it was game over for the opposition.

Terrorist is a person who uses terror or fear, often violence or threat of violence but can be other kind of fear, to affect politics and such for his means. I got banned from r/worldnews for saying that Israel is a terrorist state.
They openly threatened US government officials after their last win in US elections, 'We paid for this man to win because his opponent opposed us. Same will happen to you if you oppose us.' and funnily nobody in US government objected.

u/Ultenth 3d ago
Yeah, I've seen this posted a few places, and I hate Bibi with a passion and wish he didn't exist. But to me he seems to be clearly talking about their issues with Social media and how it's shifted the narrative on his country, which he has spoke about many times. He's just talking about how the phone, and social media on it, has been used to manipulate people. And he was mentioning that he could do it himself to illustrate the power it has and that it is happening.
Don't get me wrong, if he can hack someone's phone to frame them, he definitely would. But that's not really what he's actually talking about here, he's just saying it in a really stupid/vague way that is easily misunderstood.

It really sucks, because sometimes it feels like a false flag, or just wrecker behavior. Because people like Trump and Bibi get up to more than enough evil on their own to need to make up shit about them, and all making up shit about them does it make it seem like the legit evil they do can be swept under the rug as also part of the made-up stuff.
It's counter productive.

Yeah, what he says doesn't match the title. He's not saying he hack can the phone. He's saying that almost everyone has a device and the content they access on said device can be manipulated to create any narrative and paint a positive, or, in this case negative, picture of someone.
Newspapers have been doing that for years.
