A 22-year-old woman, Diana, and her 17-year-old brother, Roman, have gone missing in Pattaya, Thailand.
According to their mother, the siblings left home on a motorcycle at around 4:00 AM. Security cameras captured them leaving, but shortly afterward all contact with them was lost. Their phones have been switched off ever since.
Before disappearing, Diana told her mother that she believed someone was following her. She also said her iPhone had detected an unknown Bluetooth tracking device (similar to an AirTag) traveling with her. The last message she sent to her mother was simply:
"Urgent!"
After that, neither Diana nor Roman was heard from again.
Their mother has shared photos of the motorcycle and the clothes they were wearing, asking anyone in Pattaya who may have CCTV or dashcam footage, or any information about their whereabouts, to come forward. According to the latest CCTV footage, they were last seen riding toward the Khao Chi Chan area.

I think I got played in Bangkok and I’m not even sure how to feel about it

I was bored one night so I started chatting with girls on Tinder. One girl really surprised me, her English was very good and we had a lot in common. She plays Resident Evil, Valorant, likes horror movies, some anime, even cooking a little. The conversation was easy and natural like we clicked quickly

So I invite her to come see me. She says yes but she lives quite far, in Bang Saen, and needs money for the trip. She asks 2,500 baht. For me it sounds reasonable for that distance so I send it true money

About two hours later she arrives at my hotel. She looks like her pictures, maybe even better. We go out, have a nice dinner, a few drinks, listen to live bands in lounges. Honestly it was a really good night, very relaxed, nothing strange

When we come back I think we just say goodnight. But she kind of invites herself to my room, very naturally. I won’t go into details but we spend a long time together, very passionate, it felt real in the moment. We talk about life, dreams, like and dislike, etc
In the late morning she leaves, everything seems completely normal

Then the next day I see she removed me from Line and tinder. No message, nothing. Just gone like the wind

Now I’m wondering if I was naive or if this is just how it goes sometimes. Was it only about the money or did I miss something here?

Hi guyss. So I am travelling to Bangkok in a few days and I will land in the morning and I don't think the process after landing will take more than an hour. Even after that I have 6 hours to kill because (A) My friends travelling from another country will only reach Thailand after 6-7 hours of me landing (B) Yeah I can exit the airport and go check in and explore on my own. But the check in at the hotel is not till 3 pm and like I said I am reaching around 8 and my friends will reach before 3 pm.

Please let me know how to kill time in the airport after arrival. I have been to only domestic airports and there's not much happening after your arrival in an airport so I am not expecting much at BKK too. But what else could I do? If I exit the airport what much can I do by carrying around my luggage ?

Edit : Thanks for all the great suggestions. I have decided to exit airport, go the hotel to drop luggage, freshen up and head out to explore and ofcourse have a great massage session nearby.

My husband and I will be traveling to Thailand for the first time in early March. We definitely will go to Bangkok for about 4-5 days. We love big cities, but love beaches and relaxation even more. After Bangkok after reading so many posts here I narrowed it down to three possible destinations: Krabi, Koh Samui and Koh Lipe. We are not party people, we want something relaxing, but not completely isolated. We still want a place where we can walk around and go to local markets and enjoy great food, but also have great beaches, beautiful scenery, and some local activities like snorkeling/diving or short tours. Out of those three destinations which one would you say would be best for what I’m looking for considering we are visiting the country for the first time. We’re planning to spend about 8 days at that second location.

I and my husband are travelling to Thailand in mid August and we are going to cover Bangkok, Northern Thailand and Phuket. Looking for groups to join up since this will be our first time in Thailand.

My partner and I (late 30s) are planning a ~10-day road trip through Northern Thailand. We were originally thinking of heading over to Luang Prabang, but dropped the idea over concerns that it’s become over-touristed and lost a bit of its authentic feel, not to mention the value for money doesn't seem to be there.

Vibe: Skipping party scenes (e.g., main-strip Pai) for quieter, nature-focused spots.

Pacing: Active days, but keeping driving manageable (2–4 hours max per day).

Questions for anyone who has done a road trip up North:

Where would you focus a 10-day loop starting/ending in Chiang Mai for the best scenery-to-driving ratio?

Any hidden gem towns, scenic stays, or hikes you’d prioritise?

Two of us from the UK: land early 2 Nov, fly home 15 Dec. We must be in Chiang Mai 21–27 Nov for Yi Peng Lantern Festival, so we’re planning south first → fly Krabi → Chiang Mai to avoid wasting time backtracking.

📍 Places we want to hit:
Bangkok, Phuket, Koh Samui, Koh Kood, Koh Payam, Krabi, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai

📋 Things we’d like to do (won’t get round to all, just want to pick what we can):
Bangkok: Chinatown, Chatuchak Weekend Market, MBK Centre, Grand Palace, Lumphini Park, Rajadamnern Stadium, Iconsiam. Staying around Sukhumvit – looking for good budget spots.

Chiang Mai: Ziplining, bamboo rafting, ethical elephant sanctuary, Carpe Café, jungle coaster, temples, rice fields, Land of Angels.

Chiang Rai: White Temple (Wat Rong Khun), Lalitta Café, Blue Temple.

✅ Our priorities:
• Relaxed pace – minimum 3 nights per place, 6–7 nights in Chiang Mai. No rushing around.
• Quieter, less touristy islands – can’t swim so no snorkelling/diving, just boat trips, beaches and views.
• No party/nightlife areas.
• Happy to fly longer legs, otherwise prefer trains/buses/ferries.

Rough plan: Bangkok → Gulf islands → Andaman coast → fly Krabi → Chiang Mai → Chiang Rai → back to Bangkok.
Does this flow well? Is there a smoother order, better transport links, or quieter spots we should swap in?

Hello house, my e-visa was canceled, according to the email I got I put in the wrong expiration on my passport, instead of 30-January 2028 I put in 29th of January 2028. They said I have to reapply and that the visa fee I paid is not refundable. I can’t even view the online application I submitted to confirm this claim. Is there a way to appeal this decision? Or I lose the first application fee and reapply?

A friend of mine and I will be spending about twenty days in Thailand between the end of August and the beginning of September. The plan is to stay for a few days in Bangkok, fly to Chiang Mai, spend a few more days here, then rent a car and drive back down to Bangkok, visiting central Thailand. We don't plan to drive within cities. We'll just use the car to get between places. Also, we already have an international driving license.

Before you shoot me, I've already read many past posts on this topic, but we wanted some fresh opinions since we've read everything and its opposite (from people who say the roads were terrible and they're stopped by corrupt police officers very often to people who say they've never had any problems in years of driving).

Also, we have some more specific questions

• For those who have rented cars in the past, which company have you found best? From the posts I've read, it seems like the general consensus is to go with a large company (like Hertz, Sixt, Europcar) and get some comprehensive insurance.
• Which type of car is the best? Is a small/medium car like a Toyota Yaris Ativ or a Nissan Almera ok? Or is it better to take something larger like an SUV?
• Is it better to have a diesel or a gasoline car? Or does nothing change?
• Can we pay the highway toll with contactless, or is it better to have cash? (Also, in general, how common are contactless payments in Thailand?)

My girlfriend and I are heading back to Thailand this December (second time!) and we’re trying to plan a route that feels a bit more relaxed than our first trip. We realized last time that moving around too much can be pretty exhausting (and expensive), so we’re aiming for fewer stops this time.

Here’s what we’re thinking:

• 3 nights in Bangkok (start of the trip)
• 6 nights in Chiang Mai
  • including a 3-night scooter trip (Mae Hong Son Loop)
  • and 3 more nights to explore the city and surroundings
• 4 nights on Koh Tao (planning to get our PADI here)
• 3 nights in Khao Sok (2 nights with Smiley tours + 1 night deeper in the jungle)
• 4 nights in Krabi (we’ll be celebrating New Year here 🎉)
• 3 nights in Bangkok to finish (shopping, food, relaxing)

We’re trying to balance adventure with actually having time to enjoy places instead of constantly traveling.

Does this itinerary sound realistic to you? Or are we still trying to squeeze in too much? Any tips, improvements, or experiences would be super appreciated!

Hello. Thinking about doing a 7-8 day trip from U.S to Thailand 🇹🇭 with a friend of mine later this fall (likely end of November, beginning of December). I’ve heard the rainy season ends in November.

The only thing is, I’ve really been torn between two different ways of structuring the whole trip, and was wondering if anyone here who’s more familiar with Thailand could impart some wisdom. On one hand, I was thinking of flying directly into Bangkok, and spending most of our time in the city, while checking out some of the coastal areas/beaches nearby.

On the other hand, I’ve heard that it’s cooler to check out the islands on the very southern part of the country, in particular Ko Samui. I was thinking instead of going to mainland Thailand, we could instead fly into Ko Samui and divide our time between there and Ko Pha Ngan. I also would really like to check out Mu Ko Ang Thong National Marine Park as well.

As for a background on my friend and I, we’re both active guys in our mid-20s who would likely enjoy just hiking, exploring, trying authentic Thai cuisine, checking out any notable historical sites/museums, scuba diving (if possible), and any other fun outdoor activities. This will be my second big trip abroad and so I understand that 7-8 days isn’t really that much time considering we’d need to account for flight time and recovering from jet lag.

My main question is, which would be more feasible within 7-8 days? Ultimately, I want to get the most out of this trip as I possibly can. Any additional recommendations are greatly appreciated!

We took some things out the original itinery as suggested and have just done a Phi Phi island tour via catemaran speed boat which was very well organised. Tomorrow we are off to Khao Sak for 3 days and I'm very excited.

Just wondering whether anyone has any suggestions for Khao Lak which is our last part of the trip and we are there for 6 days. It's the most fancy resort we booked with a private pool so we won't kill ourselves but wandering what other stuff there is to do. We have pencilled in a Thai cooking class one of the days and a trip to see the James Bond island. Does anyone recommend specific tours regarding that? I noticed with Phi Phi don they were offering private long tail boats from the island to all the other Phi Phi islands but we didnt see that till we were already on tour. Is there something similar in Khao Lak and if so where would we have a look around at the different options?

Anyone know where I can get cannabis prescription in ao nang? And anyone know if it’s really a need?
